"Twin Peaks"
There have certainly been many notable reboots of '90s-era television series in the past two years. But there is perhaps none that is as intriguing and as potentially satisfying as Showtime's return to "Twin Peaks," which picks up 25 years after the murder of Laura Palmer. The original series was truly a groundbreaking affair when it debuted in 1990, introducing an array of unforgettably eccentric characters, ensnared in a soap-opera of a story spun with relish by David Lynch. The relaunched series continues for a limited run. Says Lynch, "It's a feature film in 18 parts." Returning are Kyle MacLachlan and a slew of familiar faces from the original cast, such as David Duchovny. They join some notable new faces including the likes of Naomi Watts, Michael Cera, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and more. Fire up those coffee pots. — Bret
