The Most Breathtaking Horror/Thriller Video Games Ever Created!
Years after they were conceived within a heart of darkness, these various video games (in no particular order) still manage to wrench pure dread as well as unforgiving trepidation into the minds of gamers everywhere! Not to mention will surely have you on the edge of your seat, in addition to biting your finger nails... From straight chills and thrills to pure terror, these games definitely are the Quintessence of F.E.A.R. since they are bound to linger in the brain from days to weeks afterwards. Ratings are from E, T, M - AO (Adults Only); Games are from 1983 - the present. Also including some good ol' Thrillers here and there of all genres instead of straight Horror. Although keep in mind that some of them are still pretty grim or somber and might not be for younger audiences.
Some games however are missing since they aren't on IMDB yet, like *Devilman (2000) for the Playstation (developed by Bandai), in addition to *Hungry Ghosts (2003) [for the PS2] (developed by Deep Space), as well as *LSD: Dream Emulator (1998) for the PS1. Also to be mentioned are: *Hellnight (1998) released for PS1, in addition to *Ikenie no Yoru (2011) for the Wii, and *Yuuyami Doori Tankentai (1999) for Playstation 1 (developed by Spike). Another awesome rare Horror game for the PS1 was Yaku Tsuu 2 Noroi No Game (厄通~呪いのゲーム~, lit. Misfortune 2 The Cursed Game), published by Idea Factory.
