Lauren Graham spent a decade in a relationship with Peter Krause before the duo decided to separate. While Graham spent years in a long-term thing, she appeared almost chronically single during her time on Gilmore Girls, or maybe she just wanted to appear single. In her 2022 memoir, Have I Told You This Already?, Graham admitted to dating some of her Gilmore Girls costars. While she made it clear that Luke and Lorelai were only a love match on screen, she didn’t give up the names of her more romantic co-stars. Don’t worry; we have some theories.
Lauren Graham dated some of her ‘Gilmore Girls’ costars
While Graham hooked up with some of her Gilmore Girls costars, she never took it there with Scott Patterson. Patterson famously portrayed Lorelai Gilmore’s main love interest, Luke Danes. The chemistry between Graham and Patterson was undeniable on-screen. It was so unreal,...

The Last Days of Disco. Barely a few minutes into Whit Stillman’s The Last Days of Disco (1998), a young Manhattanite refers to the city’s bustling nightclub scene as a full-blown movement—partying is not a lifestyle nor a hobby, but a kind of mission. His name is Josh (Matt Keeslar), a recent graduate who still cringes at the “social wasteland” of his college years, and evidently thought clubs would fix that overnight. “What I found so encouraging,” he tells a pal, “was the idea that when the time came to have a social life, there’d be all these places where people could go to.” Except the right places are impossible to get into. Ironically, the disco enthusiast has never actually stepped foot inside a disco, and as he sneaks his way into one of New York’s most iconic, he marvels at the neon-lit world as if...

[The following story contains spoilers from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season five, episode eight.]
In a sea of the various storylines that take place in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘s season five, episode eight, “The Princess and the Plea,” Abe Weisman (Tony Shalhoub) has an epiphany: He never gave Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) enough credit.
Toward the end of the penultimate episode of the series, Abe is sitting at a dinner with three other men, clearly going through something internally. When Gabe (Chris Eigeman), his coworker at The Village Voice, asks him what’s going through his said, his response is “just the whole goddamn world.”
Abe explains that he feels like men haven’t seen the world for what it is and that everything he’s thought about the roles of men and women is completely wrong, as is how he raised both of his children.

Gilmore Girls remains one of the most popular streaming series on Netflix right now. While the original series ended its run in 2007, it’s amassed new fans each year. The series remains popular because of its generally wholesome storylines and quaint setting. Not everything about Gilmore Girls was all that wholesome, though. Several side plots were creepy. We’ve collected three Gilmore Girls storylines that we believe are extraordinarily creepy when you think about it.
Kirk Gleason amassing a jewelry collection from elderly women was one of the creepiest ‘Gilmore Girls’ storylines
Kirk Gleason was Stars Hollow’s most eccentric resident. Still, he is beloved by Gilmore Girls fans, and we totally get why. He seemed mostly harmless and well-intentioned. Every so often, though, Kirk made a really strange revelation.

"I've begun reminiscing events before they even occur," laments Chris Eigeman's Max in Noah Baumbach's "Kicking and Screaming." The character continues, "I'm reminiscing this right now." If ever a line could sum up the career of the writer-director, perhaps it's this one. Baumbach's characters, always shooting from the hip, are anchored in a perpetual present where they're paralyzed by the uncertainties of the future. Yet, because they cannot return to or recreate the past, they're mostly just stuck with their words and worries.
Baumbach's career has taken many twists and turns and has seen peaks and valleys. He emerged from the home video-market-fueled indie boom of the Sundance era with talky tales like "Kicking and Screaming." He added more unadulterated drama alongside witty wordsmithing in films such as "The Squid and the Whale." Baumbach got a second wind after entering into close collaboration with actress and writer Greta Gerwig...

If you’re not ready to say goodbye to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel just yet, maybe knowing who’s going to be back for its final season will make it a little easier. Kelly Bishop, Alfie Fuller, and Jason Ralph are returning and seven new cast members are joining in recurring roles for the fifth and final season of the Prime Video series. Production is currently underway in New York. Bishop will once again guest star as Benedetta, and she’s just one of several Gilmore Girls stars who have appeared on creator Amy Sherman-Palladino’s latest series. Meanwhile Fuller, who plays Dinah Rutledge, has been upped to series regular. Ralph also returns as Mike Carr as a series regular. Peter Friedman, Chloë Kerwin, Austin Basis, Josh Grisetti, Michael Cyril Creighton, Eddie Kaye Thomas, and Lucas Kavner will all recur as new characters. The Marvelous ...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Season 4 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.] The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel continues to dazzle audiences with its latest chapter, but for Gilmore Girls fans it was an absolute delight as several former stars appeared in guest roles for Maisel‘s fourth season. For those who don’t know by now, Prime Video‘s acclaimed comedy is created by Gilmore Girls mastermind Amy Sherman-Palladino, and so there’s quite a bit of crossover in the casting department. Previous Gilmore Girls stars who have graced the Maisel screen in past seasons range from Liza Weil, who played Rory’s (Alexis Bledel) part-time-adversary-part-time-bestie, Paris, to Emily Bergl and the late Brian Tarantina. (Credit: Prime Video) And for any viewers who tuned into Season 4, it was a chapter filled with familiar faces. Among the notable Gilmore Girls appearances, this time around were Milo Ventimiglia, Kelly Bishop, Chris Eigeman, and Scott Cohen. Ventimiglia who follows in his This...

Refresh For Updates Costars and fans alike remembered Charles Grodin today as one of film’s funniest actors and TV’s most compelling personalities. “So sad to hear,” tweeted Steve Martin, who appeared alongside Grodin in the 1984 comedy The Lonely Guy. “One of the funniest people I ever met…”
“A brilliant comedy actor,” tweeted Albert Brooks. “I had the wonderful experience of working with him in my first feature ‘Real Life’ and he was amazing. Rest In Peace, Chuck.”
Grodin, who appeared in such films as Midnight Run, The Heartbreak Kid, Beethoven, The Great Muppet Caper and on TV as a favored guest of Johnny Carson and David Letterman, died today of bone marrow cancer at his home in Connecticut.
“I loved Charles Grodin so much,” tweeted Kathy Griffin. “He would bust my balls and give me so much shit in a way that left me no choice but to giggle with glee.

The incomparable Chris Eigeman is probably best known for the three films he made with Whit Stillman—Metropolitan (which was his very first film), Barcelona, and The Last Days of Disco. The singular style of performance he delivered in those films led to great work with filmmakers and showrunners such as Noah Baumbach, Amy Sherman-Palladino, and John Frankenheimer. Lately he’s been writing and directing his own films. One might think of Whit Stillman’s minor hit debut as the uptown, Eastside answer to Richard Linklater’s Slacker, which was also released in 1990. Between them they set the template for many a late-century indie: a loose and unfocused narrative peopled by an array of flawed characters discussing life, love, inclusion and exclusion, human existence and God.
The plot ostensibly concerns our sort-of-hero, Tom Townsend (Edward Clements), as he attends a series of preppy parties in various posh apartments in Manhattan. But Tom can’t share a taxi home with the others. He is – gasp! – a “Westsider”, which to a UK audience means he’s not quite as ridiculously wealthy as his friends. This isn’t a late-teen friendship group we normally see on screen. Remember that brilliant tennis club scene in Trading Places?...

Growing up in the suburbs of Los Angeles provided fertile inspiration for Michelle Morgan, director of the recent iTunes New Filmmaker Spotlight “It Happened in L.A.” (Click here to watch the film)
“I’m born and raised in La, so it’s a world that I know pretty well,” she said. “I lived in the city when I was a child and then I spent most of my young-adult years in the suburbs, so the city was always this mythical thing to us in the suburbs.”
“It Happened in L.A.” follows thirtysomething Annette (Morgan), her boyfriend, Elliot (Jorma Taccone), and her Bff, Baker (Dree Hemingway), as they navigate the perils of the bleak dating scene in Los Angeles. Is there such a thing as a perfect couple, or is that an urban myth?

This is the latest installment of a series exploring significant films from the careers of directors showing new work at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.
Noah Baumbach characters are almost always enduring growing pains, even if they stopped growing years ago. One of his most defining characteristics as a filmmaker is his ability to create coming-of-age stories for any age group.
‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ First Look: Noah Baumbach and Adam Sandler Compete for the Palme d’Or
“The Meyerowitz Stories,” Baumbach’s first film to screen at the Cannes Film Festival, sounds Baumbachian enough: It centers on an estranged family that convenes in New York for an event celebrating the artistic work of their father. The film stars Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, and Emma Thompson.

Kudos to the Criterion Collection for releasing Whit Stillman’s charming trio of young adult angst: Metropolitan (1990), Barcelona (1994), and The Last Days of Disco (1998). The bookend films have both been previously released by Criterion on DVD and Blu-ray, but now the company bows Barcelona to complete the trilogy. Available as both a stand-alone disc as well as part of a set of the three films, Barcelona features the luminous Mira Sorvino in an early role.
The trilogy of films that Mr. Stillman made as the beginning of his career and for which he is most well-known are interesting in that they depict groups of people who fall out of the scope of most of the general population and probably appeal to even less. That is actually a welcome relief. Metropolitan was shot in January and February in 1989 and released in August 1990 (a curious choice for a film...

Mark and Aaron take a look at Whit Stillman’s Barcelona (1994), and how it compares with his other work. We focus most on his other two films from the 1990s, Metropolitan (1990) and Last Days of Disco (1998), but we also discuss his most recent effort, Love and Friendship.
About the film:
Whit Stillman followed his delightful indie breakthrough Metropolitan with another clever and garrulous comedy of manners, this one with a darker edge. A pair of preppy yet constitutionally mismatched American cousins—a salesman and a navy officer—argue about romance and politics while working in the beautiful Spanish city of the film’s title. Set during the eighties, Barcelona explores topics both heady (American exceptionalism, Cold War foreign policy) and hilarious (the ins and outs of international dating, the proper shaving method) while remaining a constantly witty delight, featuring a sharp young cast that includes Taylor Nichols, Chris Eigeman, and Mira Sorvino.

When Whit Stillman's Metropolitan was released in 1990 it became a sleeper hit, grossing nearly $3 million after being made for $230,000 and receiving an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay. The film, which centers around a group of upper-class Manhattan teenagers attending debutante balls and their Park Ave. afterparties over Christmas break, was Stillman's first but has gone on to be regarded as one of his signature movies. But neither Stillman nor star Chris Eigeman, who went on to make two more movies with the writer-director, can explain Metropolitan's enduring appeal. "I don't know how we've

When Whit Stillman's "Metropolitan" hit theaters in 1990, it seemed like an overnight success. But the low-budget film about a group of self-proclaimed "urban haute bourgeoisie" in Manhattan hardly had an easy time making it into the world. On the occasion of its 25th anniversary re-release, Indiewire recently spoke to Stillman and cast members Carolyn Farina, Taylor Nichols and Chris Eigeman, who reflected on the challenges -- and joys -- of making the film. “Tracking Shot” is a monthly featurette here on Ioncinema.com that looks at a dozen or so projects that are moments away from lensing and this October we see a couple of items that we could certainly circle as potential Cannes 2014 bait. Thanks to our friends at Production Weekly for the helping hand in curating our list of future must see items.

Exclusive: WestEnd Films has closed a number of deals on David Gordon Green’s next film Manglehorn, including to Artificial Eye for the UK, Wild Side for France, and Swen for Latin America.
Al Pacino stars as a former criminal living a boring life until he goes back to his old ways. “The script is very strong. It’s a very different tone to Joe, and is much more humorous and tragically comical,” WestEnd MD Eve Schoukroun told Screen.
The new film starts shooting in October with Worldview again financing; WestEnd is also selling Joe, which was very well received in Venice ahead of its Toronto premiere on Monday. “I’m very excited to work with David and Worldview again,” Schoukroun said.

Josh Hamilton is a face you've seen before. He's that handsome face that shows up in a movie or on a TV show and you're sure you've seen him wearing a blazer with a patch on it somewhere. Or all bearded up in an attempt to hide those boyish good looks. Saying something really smart and very possibly smarmy. The question is where. The films below may hold the key... You've Most Likely Seen Him In ... ... intellectual '90s indie comedies with Parker Posey. In 1995, Hamilton starred in Noah Baumbach's breakthrough comedy of collegiate manners, Kicking and Screaming. The film made a big splash in the indie world, extending the Whit Stillman aesthetic of erudite aimlessness to brand new places like the West Coast. Along with co-stars Eric Stoltz, Parker Posey, and Chris Eigeman, Hamilton was part of an emergent subset of young performers. Two years later, he would...

Alexis Bledel has no plans to join the parade of "Gilmore Girls" veterans turning up on "Bunheads."
Amy Sherman-Palladino is the creator-producer of both series, a likely reason behind regular and recent appearances by such "Gilmore" alums as Kelly Bishop ("Emily Gilmore"), Liza Weil ("Paris"), Gregg Henry ("Mitchum Huntzberger"), Chris Eigeman ("Digger"), Rose Abdoo ("Gypsy") and Sean Gunn ("Kirk") on the current ABC Family series airing Mondays.
Though former "Rory Gilmore" Bledel reports there isn't consideration of her joining that list for "Bunheads," at least at present, she maintains that isn't for any lack of affection for her "Gilmore" years.
"When I look back on that time, I'm so appreciative of all that show taught me and made possible for me," she tells Zap2It. "I love all the people I worked with." They include Melissa McCarthy, who was Sookie in the "Gilmore" world. "I'm so happy for her," Bledel says.

SusanP here, back with more Bunheads coverage. It’s good to see some fans out there are also Film Experience people. For those of you haven’t watched the show, it’s a safe bet you’ll enjoy it if you love the work of either series star Sutton Foster or creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. For the rest, I’d still encourage you to give the show a try. There’s really nothing else like it on television right now.

Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Kruger, and Emile Hirsch have joined a really interesting 1940s drama, called Midnight Sun, that revolves around the atomic nomb.
The story is set in 1943, and it "follows two young post graduates recruited by the Us Government to work on a top-secret project in New Mexico. Along with one of the students’ new wife, they drop their jazz-filled lives in New York and move to a secret community of scientists in the desert."
I'm really curious to see how this movie turns out. I've always been fascinated with the the development of the atomic bomb, so this sounds like a great project to me. The movie was written by actor-director Chris Eigeman, who will also direct the film. They've also brought in Richard Rhodes, winner of the Pulitzer prize for the book The Making of the Atomic Bomb, to be an advisor on the project.

The creation of the atom bomb is a subject that’s surely ripe for drama, and the stories – fictional or otherwise – of the people who had a hand in making and testing it has struck a chord with actor-director Chris Eigeman. He’s now preparing to make Midnight Sun, snapping up Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Kruger and Emile Hirsch to star.Eigeman wrote the script for the film, which is set in 1943 and finds two young post-graduates (Eisenberg and Hirsch) recruited along with any wives and significant others to work on a top secret Us government project in New Mexico.Relocating from swinging, jazzy New York, they must adapt to a new life in a secret community of scientists out in the desert as one of the most terrible weapons created by mankind is developed. With Richard Rhodes, who scored a Pulitzer for his book The Making Of The Atomic Bomb,...

It's safe to say that Jesse Eisenberg's performance in The Social Network took his career to the next level, but the actor hasn't been in the spotlight too much since 2010. He had a rough follow-up with the horrible 30 Minutes or Less, but then starred in Woody Allen's To Rome with Love and has Richard Ayoade's mystery The Double and the illusionist heist thriller Now You See Me on the way this year. Now ScreenDaily reports that the Best Actor nominee is keeping his hot streak alive, as Eisenberg has joined a period piece called Midnight Sun. Plus Diane Kruger and Emile Hirsch star in the 1940s atomic bomb drama. Written and directed by actor/director Chris Eigeman (Turn the River), the story is set in 1943 and follows two recent graduates (Eisenberg and Hirsch) who are hired to work on a secret project in New Mexico. After scoring his first Academy Award nomination with the Mark Zuckerberg biopic The Social Network, Jesse Eisenberg took a break from drama with comedies like 30 Minutes or Less, Free Samples and To Rome With Love. But with his next funny feature Now You See Me poised to hit theaters this summer, Eisenberg is looking to dig back into drama with the atomic bomb-centered Midnight Sun. Reporting from the European Film Market, Screen Daily reveals Eisenberg will front the film alongside Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds) and Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild). Written and directed by actor turned filmmaker Chris Eigeman, its story is set in 1943 America. Fresh from graduate school, two young people (presumably Eisenberg and Hirsch) are recruited by the government for a top-secret project that will take them away from the jazz-soaked atmosphere of New York, and into the deserts of New Mexico. Kruger is expected to play one...

1.) With the release of Monsters director Gareth Edwards' "gritty" Godzilla reboot just 15 months away, it's hard to believe we still don't have anything official in terms of casting. The film is currently awaiting a rewrite from Frank Darabont (The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption), while simultaneously trying to build its cast in time for a March start date, though no deals will officially be made until the script is completed. The artist formerly known as Aaron Johnson was previously discussed as a possible lead, and it seems he is still in talks for the role. The latest news has Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Argo's Bryan Cranston in talks to co-star. There are no character details of yet, but expect something more in the coming days as Legendary Pictures only has a few weeks to pull this thing together. Variety 2.) Even though he didn't feature in Whit Stillman's "Damsels In Distress," the last year or so has seen the director's muse Chris Eigeman, who starred in "Metropolitan," "Barcelona" and "The Last Days Of Disco," become rather more visible again. There's the potential of a reunion with his favorite director in the works, and Eigeman's been cropping up on TV in the acclaimed likes of "Girls" and "Bunheads" in the last twelve months, but it looks like the comeback might be complete, as Eigeman's prepping his second directorial feature, and has attracted a pretty impressive cast. Screen Daily report that Eigeman's "Midnight Sun," a 1940s-set drama, has Jesse Eisenberg, Emile Hirsch and Diane Kruger all lined up to star. Set against the backdrop of the creation of the A-bomb (indeed, Richard Rhodes, who won the Pulitzer for his book "The Making of the Atomic Bomb," is...

Given New Girl’s history of casting brunette indie actresses (Parker Posey, Lizzy Caplan, Zooey herself), the prospect of meeting Jessica Day’s mother raised some interesting possibilities. Equally intriguing: Who would play her dad? You could be forgiven for holding out hope for, like, Winona Ryder and Chris Eigeman, but the show went in a slightly more age-appropriate direction, giving us Jamie Lee Curtis and Rob Reiner as Joan and Bob, Jess’s divorced mom and dad. Then it added Rob Riggle as Schmidt’s cousin, also named Schmidt, to round out the Thanksgiving awkwardness. The result was solid — probably better than last season’s Thanksgiving episode, since family is a much more fertile topic for the holiday than romance. Jess’s ongoing quest to Parent Trap her parents back into a relationship played to Zooey Deschanel’s strengths. Her girlishness made sense in this context, because practically everyone...

Liza Weil is set to guest star on ABC Family's "Bunheads" when it returns from hiatus -- bringing the total number of "Gilmore Girls" actors to appear on the series to nine. We're loving Amy Sherman-Palladino's tendency to keep things all in the family, though it can't help those persistent comparisons that we keep seeing Stars Hollow townsfolk pop up!
Weil, who of course played the acerbic and iconic Paris Gellar for all seven seasons of "Gilmore," will play Milly, the sister of Truly (Stacey Oristano). As TVLine reports, the women are embroiled in a bit of a sibling rivalry.
(And yes, TV lovers, this means that in a fictional universe, Paris Gellar and Mindy Collette Riggins are related. We'll just take a moment to let that sink in.)

Paris Geller is heading to Paradise...at least for one episode.
According to TVLine, Gilmore Girls alum Liza Weil will be appearing on an episode of Bunheads this January. Weil, known for her role as Rory Gilmore's frenemy Paris Geller on the WB/CW dramedy, has been tapped to play Truly's sister Milly on the January 14th episode of Bunheads; Milly and Truly don't get along, however, which means that there'll be an extra dose of tension and unease lingering around the Paradise Dance Academy. Truly's already rather high-strung and brimming with anxiety during most of her time on screen, so adding in a sister that doesn't like her can only make things worse, at least temporarily.
On the other hand, having Milly come in for only one episode might be a sign that the two will be patching things up, at least temporarily. They're obviously not going to be...

Directed by: Nicholas Jarecki
Cast: Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Brit Marling, Tim Roth
Running Time: 1 hr 40 mins
Rating: R
Release Date: September 14, 2012
Plot: Robert (Gere) runs a trading company and has taken a lot of risks. Now his company is desperate, but that’s nothing compared to the mess he’s gotten into with his personal life. A troubled hedge fund magnate desperate to complete the sale of his trading empire makes an error that forces him to turn to an unlikely person for help.
Who’S It For? This is an adult drama that affectively sprinkles in some soap-opera drama. It’s also one of the “really good” Gere performances.

Fanny Flowers has returned, and Paradise once again feels comfortable with its name.
Too much? Maybe. But post-vacation Fanny is the best Fanny ever. (You probably agree with that even if you've never seen Bunheads.) She is relaxed and happy and smiles a lot.
Most amazing of all, she seems to like Michelle. She even invites her to a matinee.
Part of the change — probably most of it — is due to the presence of a very nice-looking man whom, we discover, is Fanny's long-term lovah, Michael.
We discover that Michael is a musician who travels a lot, and he's been Fanny bumping for 30 years.
I would totally watch a show with nothing more than Kelly Bishop and Sutton Foster bantering. I feel almost sacrilegious saying this, but I think they have better chemistry than Bishop and Lauren Graham.
