Zack Snyder has always managed to polarize viewers with his projects. He did it when he was at the helm of the Dceu, with some of his choices deemed a little scandalous. On the flip side, Snyder has garnered a massive fanbase, by primarily adapting comics into action films that satisfy the so-called ‘fanboys.’
The director’s new film, Rebel Moon- Part Two: The Scargiver, tells a very similar tale. While the second installment of the franchise has been panned by critics, the audience feels very differently about it. A few even believe that it might be better than Dune 2, the biggest hit of the year.

Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver sees Zack Snyder doubling down on his epic sci-fi fantasy saga, building on the groundwork laid in the first instalment with rather mixed results. While this second outing is a slight improvement on its predecessor, it still struggles to find its footing in a cluttered galaxy of derivative tropes, pseudo scientific claptrap and overstuffed plot-lines.
Following the events of Part One, we find ourselves once again thrust into the midst of intergalactic conflict as Kora (Sofia Boutella) and her ragtag band of resistance fighters return to the humble farming moon of Veldt to face off against the sinister Imperium forces led by the sinewy villain Noble (a hilariously villainous Ed Skrein stealing just about every scene he’s in). What ensues is a relentless battle for survival as the fate of Veldt and its people hangs in the balance.

Star Cast: Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Staz Nair, and Elise Duffy

Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver Movie Review: Zack Snyder’s Space Opera Is Complete With The Scargiver, But Sadly The Potential Feels Unfulfilled (Photo Credit – IMDb)
What’s Good: The entirety of the last sequence aboard the Dreadnaught is genuinely unique in its spectacle.
What’s Bad: Many characters and concepts feel unfulfilled as if the movie is holding the good stuff & waiting for a third installment.
Loo Break: The first 45 minutes of the movie can be skipped until reaching the anticipated final battle.
Watch or Not?: Watch only if you liked the first part, as very little here is different from the first.

“Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver” has been dead since last December, when the irredeemable first chapter of Zack Snyder’s hyper-derivative space opera was released “in theaters” and on Netflix to deafening silence. As I concluded my review at the time: “It’s hard to be even morbidly curious, let alone excited, about any future iterations or installments of a franchise so determined to remix a million things you’ve seen before into one thing you’ll wish you’d never seen at all.”
And so, much as I might have hoped that the second and more concentrated half of Snyder’s sci-fi “Seven Samurai” would somehow atone for the sins of its previous chapter, I wasn’t exactly shocked to discover that it lacks any trace of a pulse from the moment it starts. Five months in the morgue can have that effect. Be that as it may,...

Spoiler Alert: This review reveals details of both Rebel Moon movies.
Slow-motion scenes that sputter story pacing? Check.
Poorly developed characters? Check.
Plot holes bigger than the Milky Way? Check.
… And we’re back with part two of Zack Snyder’s Netflix space opera Rebel Moon -Part Two: The Scargiver. You might be shocked to hear this, but part two manages to somehow be worse than part one. Its biggest crime? Nothing happening for way too long. The film stars Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Doona Bae, Staz Nair, Elise Duffy and Anthony Hopkins as the voice of Jimmy the robot. While this is a capable cast of actors, they have nothing to work with. I wonder if the reason Snyder hasn’t been able to deliver comprehensible scripts is because he wears too many hats as writer, producer, director and cinematographer on most of his films.

What do you call world-building when it’s built entirely out of worlds that have already been built? I wouldn’t call it cinema; it might be closer to Lego with attitude. Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver,” like his “Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire,” is a sci-fi action fantasy so familiar and generic, so borrowed from and inspired by other things — it’s the 1977 “Star Wars” meets “Seven Samurai” meets “The Lord of the Guardians of the Rings of the Galaxy” — that it’s already the theme-park version of itself. Yet compared to most of the media, I was kind to “Rebel Moon — Part One.” Released just four months ago, it was an oversize banquet of fanboy fast food, not a film to take seriously, but I couldn’t deny that I found it highly watchable, unlike the countless critics who seem to...

Wheat. So much wheat.
That’s the main takeaway from the second installment of Zack Snyder’s interplanetary space saga that, depending on your perspective, either pays homage to or shamelessly rips off previous epics ranging from Seven Samurai to Star Wars. If you add up the running times of both Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver and the first film, it amounts to well over four hours. It’s not surprising, considering that this one features a sequence in which the characters harvest wheat for what seems longer than a Swedish art film. And I know that the setting is supposed to be an alternate universe, but considering that it features space ships and technically advanced weaponry, it seems a bit absurd that farming hasn’t advanced beyond scythes. Although the extremely buff performers look damn good wielding them.
Such musings are unavoidable when confronted with this would-be epic,...

A new movie just came out from Zack Snyder, the divisive but provocative director who has inspired legions of passionate and loyal fans online, but it hardly feels like anyone outside of the internet knows or even cares much. Perhaps that's the peril of falling into the streaming trap, where name-brand talents receive sky-high budgets for productions that no traditional studio is willing to support ... only to be promptly forgotten once its brief time in Netflix's weekly Top 10 reports comes and goes. Full disclosure: It's downright strange to have been able to see "Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver" in a theater and base this review on that experience, particularly when the vast majority of those reading this will never have the same opportunity. Yet it's stranger still that the film we've received, from a visionary auteur whose battles with corporate overlords during his tenure in the DC...

Following a limited theatrical release, director Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire (read our review Here) was released through the Netflix streaming service back in December. Viewers will get the chance to find out what happens in the second half of the story when Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver reaches the service this Friday – and while doing press for that film, Snyder confirmed that a Rebel Moon 3 is already in the works. But he doesn’t intend to wrap this franchise up as a trilogy. In the end, he thinks there could be a total of 4 to 6 Rebel Moon movies!
Speaking with Radio Times, “We absolutely have the story (for Rebel Moon 3) all set, we did all that work. We wrote a treatment for the movie so we’ll see how we go ahead. … I guess (a total of) 4 makes sense. 4 or 6 movies,...

In his 1922 poem The Waste Land, T.S. Eliot wrote that “April is the cruelest month,” which is probably true, more or less. April is also National Poetry Month, which feels somehow related. After all, aren’t poets famously… tortured?
So honor the month — and mark Shakespeare’s birthday a little early (this Tuesday will be recognized as his 460th) — with a stream celebrating the thrill and the angst of creative expression. Fill your weekend with an unconventional biopic depicting jealousy provoked by genius, a quartet of documentaries about influential poets and writers, or a series chronicling the history of a vital genre. Who knows? Maybe by Sunday night you’ll feel inspired to compose a bit of verse yourself.

Love him or hate him, you cannot deny Zack Snyder garners more attention than most filmmakers working today. It’s no surprise that his fans have been champing at the bit to see his the second part of his dark sci-fi epic, which it titled Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver.
Snyder debuted Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Light in December. That film introduced viewers to a futuristic science fiction world, drawing from beloved tropes about scrappy rebels, mysterious prophecies, and a totalitarian empire. The movie pulls ideas from Star Wars, the samurai films of Akira Kurosawa, and Frank Herbert’s Dune imbues them with his signature gritty style to create something that feels very nerdy and very Snyder.

Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon or Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, released on Netflix in 2023, generated polarizing reactions among critics and audiences. As its second installment is waiting for its release this month, Snyder has stated that the R-rated cuts of both films look like different films in themselves. However, the fans don’t look so happy about the idea of an intentional Director’s Cut.

In the past, Zack Snyder has released extended cuts for his Dceu projects- Batman v. Superman and Justice League. The films turned out to be superior to their original versions. In an interview with the New York Times, Snyder stated that almost all of his movies have a director’s cut.

Everyone who’s seen even one Zack Snyder movie knows that the filmmaker has a very specific and, in many ways, unique approach to his movies. Snyder is a visionary for some and a failure for others, but he doesn’t leave you indifferent, that is certain. And while we could discuss many of his projects in light of these comments, we are going to focus on his current project, the two-part sci-fi epic Rebel Moon, whose second part is going to be released soon.
Snyder has sat down to discuss the second version of his movie. Namely, we know that an R-rated Director’s Cut of both parts will be released by Netflix at a later date, while the two initial versions we’ve seen are reduced PG-13 versions. This is nothing unusual for Snyder, who has revealed that the R-rated cuts are truly brutal and very different from the original versions.

With Dune: Part Two and Civil War in theaters, it’s already been a great year for sci-fi, and that doesn’t even count goofball flicks like Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, or any other movies with the word “empire” in the title. Sure, it’s not all perfect. Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17, starring Robert Pattinson, has been pulled from the release schedule and there’s no way that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will release this year. But overall, 2024 has been a strong start for sci-fi movies.

The sci-fi horror A Quiet Place franchise is heading to New York with its latest entry, A Quiet Place: Day One, which is set to reach theatres on June 28th. For a film in the “Quiet Place” universe, the decibel level was near deafening at the film’s CinemaCon presentation on Thursday in Las Vegas.
John Krasinski’s horror franchise is now in its third outing, the latest being a prequel of sorts starring Lupita Nyong’o and titled “A Quiet Place: Day One.” The film takes viewers back to the inciting incident, when faceless alien beasts invaded the planet and revealed an extreme sensitivity to sound — using it to track and find terrified humans and, well, kill them.
Nyong’o and costar Joseph Quinn (breakout star of the last season of “Stranger Things”) teed up an extended version of a “Day One” trailer released earlier this year. Given that sound is how the creatures find the unassuming citizens of earth, it plays a major role in the craft of the film. An unintended sneeze is as deadly as a sonic boom in this world,...

Given that sound is how the creatures find the unassuming citizens of earth, it plays a major role in the craft of the film. An unintended sneeze is as deadly as a sonic boom in this world,...

Paramount’s A Quiet Place: Day One is getting ready to bring chills to audiences.
Stars Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn on Thursday introduced extended footage of the prequel to movie theater owners gathered in Las Vegas this week for CinemaCon, where they are being briefed by Hollywood studios on their upcoming slates (the footage won’t be shared outside the room, since the movie is close to opening and there have been numerous trailers already).
The event spinoff pic is a cornerstone of Paramount’s slate, and hopes to be another win for the innovative horror franchise created by John Krasinski that turned into a major hit after successfully proving that original stories can work on a large, commercial scale.

Following a limited theatrical release, director Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire (read our review Here) was released through the Netflix streaming service back in December. Viewers will get the chance to find out what happens in the second half of the story when Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver reaches the service on April 19th – and with that date swiftly approaching, Snyder took to social media to unveil a batch of character posters. You can check them out at the bottom of this article.
Snyder has always been open about the fact that he’s hoping “a massive IP and a universe that can be built out” from the foundation of Rebel Moon. He crafted the story for Rebel Moon with 300 co-writer Kurt Johnstad, and the pair wrote the screenplay with Army of the Dead co-writer Shay Hatten. The events of the two films,...

Director Ed Zwick has been talking about making the film Blood Diamond in his new memoir – and it marked a sad turning point for Warner Bros.
Director Ed Zwick has recently published his memoir of sorts, going by the name Hits, Flops And Other Illusions: My Fortysomething Years In Hollywood. It’s a really entertaining and also quite candid account of a directing career that’s seen him steer films such as Glory, About Last Night, The Last Samurai and – relevant specifically to this story – Blood Diamond.
You might remember that one. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Hounsou, it was released in 2006 to reasonable success. Costing around $100m of Warner Bros’ money to make, it grossed $171m worldwide, earning five Academy Award nominations in the process.
Yet as Zwick reveals in his book, the film was not just a turning point in his own career, but that of Warner Bros too.

A car crash interview with a delusional prince, a new series adaptation featuring Patricia Highsmith’s most infamous creation, the second part of Zack Snyder’s pricey space opera and a paranormal detective show set within Neil Gaiman’s celebrated Sandman universe are among the big titles hitting Netflix in April.
Debuting April 4 is Ripley, Netflix’s glossy new take on Highsmith’s 1955 crime novel The Talented Mr. Ripley. Fresh from the critical acclaim he received for All of Us Strangers, Irish actor Andrew Scott will be inhabiting the role of Tom Ripley in an adaptation that will be screened in black-and-white. The eight-episode series also stars Johnny Flynn as Dickie Greenleaf, Dakota Fanning as Marge Sherwood, and acting newcomer Eliot Sumner (son of Sting and Trudie Styler) as Freddie Miles. Written and directed by Oscar winner Steven Zaillian, Ripley was originally set for release on Showtime before it found a new home on Netflix.

‘Waller’ was confirmed for development in 2022 as a spinoff of ‘Peacemaker’, with Viola Davis returning as the lead character. Recent updates indicate that the show will have a serious tone, in contrast to the comedic approach of ‘Peacemaker’, reflecting Waller’s character.
Originally slated for release in 2024, delays are expected due to director James Gunn’s focus on other Dcu projects. While some sources still mention a 2024 release, 2025 seems more likely.
New additions to the official IMDb page reveal stunt doubles, offering hints about the characters we can expect in the show, though details about the plot remain scarce.
Greg Fitzpatrick will double for Frank Grillo, Nhut Le will portray Vigilante as a stunt actor, Cali Nelle will stand in for Djimon Hounsou, Christopher Tardieu will serve as Sebastian Faust’s double, and Nico Woulard will double for Corey Hawkins.
The name “Vigilante” refers to two characters in the DC Universe.

‘Waller’ was confirmed to be in development back in 2022 as a spinoff of ‘Peacemaker’, with Viola Davis reprising her role as the titular character, recently it’s been confirmed that the show will not be comedy-oriented as ‘Peacemaker’ as Waller is much more serious character, and the show will try to reflect that tone.
‘Waller’ was supposed to be released in 2024, but the fact that Gunn is now focusing on the rest of the Dcu projects, the best-case scenario is that the show gets released in 2025, even though the 2024 release date is still present in some sources.
Since little is known regarding the overall plot of the movie, and the characters set to appear in it, we were delighted when new names appeared on the official IMDb page for the show. Mostly stunt-doubles are in question, but they do reveal what kind of characters we can expect.

"I have no choice... but to fight!" Here we go again. Netflix has launched the main official trailer for Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver, the finale of Zack Snyder's sci-fi saga. The first half, Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire, is now playing on Netflix worldwide after launching in December last year. There is also supposedly an R-rated "Director's Cut" arriving sometime soon (maybe better to wait for that). Rebel Moon is an original Zack Snyder creation, a Star Wars-esque sci-fi thriller about a ragtag team of rebels. In a universe controlled by a corrupt militaristic government, the moon of Veldt is threatened by the Imperium, the army of the Mother World controlled by "Regent Balisarius". Sofia Boutella stars as Kora, a former Imperium fighter who rallies warriors from across the galaxy to fight back. Part Two features an ensemble cast lead by Djimon Hounsou,...
