The third film in the “Paddington” franchise is set for release. Titled “Paddington in Peru,” the movie continues the bear’s story with a new high-stakes adventure. Paddington travels through the Amazon rainforest to search for his missing Aunt Lucy.
First-time director Dougal Wilson takes over from Paul King. King directed the first two films, which were praised for their heart and humor. Wilson called following those films “one of the hardest acts.” He hopes to maintain what audiences love about Paddington while taking the story in a new international direction.
The film features Oscar winner Olivia Colman as a guitar-playing nun running a home for retired bears. Antonio Banderas also joins the cast in an undisclosed role. Returning cast includes Hugh Bonneville as Mr. Brown. Emily Mortimer replaces Sally Hawkins as Mrs. Brown.

Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville just confirmed some news that we already suspected.
If you don’t know, the 60-year-old actor will be back for the third film in the franchise, which will be released in September, 2025.
Keep reading to find out more…
In a new interview, he confirmed that it’s “probably” the final film in the franchise.
“We finished a third — and I think probably final — Downton Abbey film this summer, which will come out next September and that is a wonderful sort of closing off of all the stories, so it’s a proper film for the fans,” Hugh told The Chris Evans Breakfast Show in a new interview. News that this film will be the final one isn’t exactly surprising information, as it confirms what another cast member previously shared.
He did give a few details, including how they’ll be saying goodbye to the late Dame Maggie Smith.

In a cinematic first, both Queen Elizabeth II from “The Crown” and the real Queen Elizabeth feature in “Paddington in Peru.”
Olivia Colman’s all-singing, guitar-wielding and “The Sound of Music”-inspired nun — who runs a “home for retired bears” — is one of the noisier (and wildly entertaining) new additions to the franchise. But the late monarch’s appearance is a little more subtle — a brief glimpse of a photo showing her having afternoon tea with Paddington taken from a short video that was made as part of her 2022 Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Blink-and-you-miss-it maybe, but it’ll likely stir up a few emotions.
For many, Her Majesty pulling a marmalade sandwich out of her handbag in the Jubilee sketch was their last image of the Queen. When she passed away just a few months later, among the flowers and cards left across the U.K. in tribute were hundreds of...

"More adventure than any bear can bear." Sony Pictures has unveiled their official US trailer for the highly anticipated sequel Paddington in Peru. It opens in the UK next week, but only opening there – it won't be showing in US theaters until January 2025. Continuing the adorable adventures of the Paddington Bear after the beloved Paddington (2014) & Paddington 2 (2017). In this, Paddington and his adopted family – the Browns – decide to visit his Aunt Lucy in Peru, only to end up lost in the Amazon rainforest (inspired by Herzog's Fitzcarraldo?) and stuck up in the Andes mountains. This fun British-Peruvian comedy adventure sequel stars Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Carla Tous, and Antonio Banderas, plus Olivia Colman as "The Reverend Mother." Plus the voices of Ben Whishaw as Paddington Brown and Imelda Staunton as Aunt Lucy, who I hope has a bigger role. This looks...

In 1997, when Matt Damon and Ben Affleck wrote and starred in Gus Van Sant's "Good Will Hunting," it immediately propelled the pair onto the ineffable Hollywood A-list. Both of them had been acting for several years and had participated in a few notable studio pictures, but it was "Good Will Hunting" that pushed the two handsome young blokes onto the top of the heap. Their film was nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and it won Oscars for Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (for Robin Williams). Ever since, both Affleck and Damon have remained above-the-title power players, appearing in a long list of both big-budget hits and ambitious indies.
Although, that's not to say that they both haven't had their share of stinkers. Affleck has starred in several notorious films in his career, including widely loathed films like "Gigli" and "Phantoms." Although Affleck was the bomb in "Phantoms,...

Hugh Grant loves taking the piss out of the acting profession and even his own place within it, but there’s no doubt he’s left an indelible impression. From “Four Weddings and a Funeral” to “Notting Hill,” he carried the romantic comedy genre for most of the ’90s and early aughts, making women and men alike fall head over heels for his cutesy, bumbling manner. To hear him talk about it, however, these films also served as somewhat of a gilded cage that ended up defining his life off screen.
“My mistake was that I suddenly got this massive success with ‘Four Weddings’ and I thought, ah, well, if that’s what people love so much, I’ll be that person in real life, too,” Grant said in a recent interview with The New York Times. “So I used to do interviews where I was Mr. Stuttery Blinky, and...

The great and good of British telly romp their way through a deliciously entertaining tale of sexy nonsense. Here’s our Rivals episode 1 review.
A decade or so after the on-demand revolution, the streaming industry has finally eaten its own tail. Rivals is the closest thing to a terrestrial TV drama we’ve seen in years. After years of experimentation, talent-pilfering and moves to make streaming the new Hollywood, Disney+ has settled on remaking Showtime’s The Tudors in the 80s.
Based on Jilly Cooper’s 1988 erotic novel of the same name, the show follows the scheming, scandal and sex-lives of the poshest people you’ve ever seen as they politicise their way around 80s commercial TV juggernaut, Corinium – and the sexy, venom-tipped rivalry at its centre.
David Tennant’s new money oik, Lord Tony Baddingham, has built his media empire from the ground up, and therefore has a hereditary wealth-shaped chip on his shoulder.

Paul King seems to have that magic touch for family-friendly movies, and Deadline reports that Disney has recruited the director to helm a new Prince Charming movie.

Exclusive: Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock could be about to dust off his magnifying glass.
Sue Vertue, who produced the beloved BBC reimagining of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes detective stories, has said the brand is likely to return.
“We love that show and there is a future for it. One day. Maybe. If everyone wants to do it,” Vertue told Deadline on the blue carpet at the Amazon Prime Video Trailblazers event in London.
“I’ve still got the set in storage somewhere, which is probably rotten, to be honest with you,” she added. “It’s just getting everybody aligned, it’s getting the actors to want to do it.”
Sherlock co-creator and star Mark Gatiss raised hopes for a film earlier this year, telling Deadline: “We’d like to make a film but trying to get everyone together is very difficult.”
Cumberbatch starred in the series alongside Martin Freeman’s John Watson.

Paddington is set to continue his adventures on screens big and small, as StudioCanal plans a Paddington 4 film and a television series.
It is almost a cliche by now to say that Paddington 2 is quite possibly one of the greatest family comedies ever made. In the words of Nicolas Cage in The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent, “Paddington 2 is incredible”. It’s one of the few films that really does live up to the hype, with Paul King’s direction and the screenplay he co-wrote with Simon Farnaby coalescing into one of the most wholesome, funny films in years.
That is quite a legacy to live up to, and we don’t have long to wait either – Paddington In Peru hits UK cinemas on the 8th November. King and Farnaby stayed on to co-write the story with Mark Burton, while the latter co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Foster and James Lamont.

“Paddington in Peru” is ready to charm you.
The third film in the “Paddington” franchise doesn’t hit theaters until early next year, but a new teaser at least gives you a little taste of the latest installment. Watch the teaser below.
In the brief teaser Paddington (once again voiced by Ben Whishaw) is getting his passport photo taken. Of course, there are all sorts of comical elements like him having a marmalade sandwich underneath his hat and having his face smashed against the camera. It is very cute and sweet and you also get a brief glimpse of him in South America, on a steamer.
This time around “Paddington in Peru” is directed by Dougal Wilson, a music video director who has helmed clips for Coldplay, Basement Jaxx and LCD Soundsystem. Wilson takes over from Paul King, who directed the first two entries (and who has a “story by...

Sony Pictures has debuted another amusing teaser trailer for the highly anticipated sequel Paddington in Peru continuing the adorable adventures of the Paddington Bear after the beloved Paddington (2014) & Paddington 2 (2017). In this sequel, Paddington and his adopted family – the Browns – decide to visit his Aunt Lucy in Peru (hence the new title), only to end up lost in the Amazon rainforest. An adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up the mountain peaks of Peru. This British comedy adventure sequel stars Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Carla Tous, and Antonio Banderas, plus Olivia Colman as "The Reverend Mother." Plus the voices of Ben Whishaw as Paddington Brown and Imelda Staunton as Aunt Lucy. The first UK trailer arrived a few months ago with plenty more footage.

Have you checked out the new movie I Came By on Netflix yet? You totally should – it’s one of the creepiest and most thought-provoking films I’ve seen in a while.
The movie follows Toby, a graffiti artist who targets fancy neighborhoods to leave mysterious messages for rich people. But when he breaks into one guy’s house, he finds a prisoner tied up in the basement! Things take a seriously dark turn from there.
The way the movie shows how suddenly dangerous situations can get is so realistic and scary. And when Toby disappears, the intense performance from his mom trying to find out what happened is heartbreaking.
The movie does a great job highlighting real problems too. When Toby’s mom goes to the police, they don’t seem to care because the guy she’s accusing is rich and connected. And it turns out he was preying on immigrants,...
