The trailer for The Killer’s Game sees Dave Bautista fighting for his life after he goes from being a hitman to a target.
The action-comedy follows a veteran assassin, Joseph Flood (Bautista), who authorizes a kill on himself after being diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
“There’s only two ways out of the killer’s game, Joseph. You walk away clean or you go out on your back,” Ben Kingsley can be heard saying in the footage.
However, when Joseph learns that doctors made a mistake and he actually doesn’t have an illness, he tries to cancel the contract. But insanity ensues when it’s too late, and an army of assassin colleagues not only come after him but also his ex-girlfriend (Sofia Boutella).
“I’m calling in every hitter in Europe, you hear me?” Pom Klementieff says to Bautista in the trailer, to which he responds, “Yeah well,...

Good news for exhibition as Lionsgate is delivering two big releases this fall: The Dave Bautista action pic The Killer’s Game on Sept. 13 and the Mel Gibson directed Mark Wahlberg movie Flight Risk for Oct. 18. Again, we can’t be without film product in a marketplace that’s starving for volume.
Meanwhile the Gerard Butler sequel Den of Thieves: Pantera will hit cinemas on Jan. 10, 2025; that title arriving to Lionsgate through its eOne acquistion.
The JJ Perry directed The Killer’s Game, based on the book by Jay R. Bonansinga and adapted by Rand Ravich and James Coyne, follows a top hitman, Joe Flood (Bautista) who is diagnosed with a terminal illness. He opts to take matters into his own hands – by taking a hit out on himself. But when the very hitmen he hired also target his ex-girlfriend (Sofia Boutella), he must fend off an army of assassin colleagues and...

With the death of Jerry Lee Lewis on Friday, conventional wisdom might call for a quip along the lines of “Well, Keith Richards and Willie Nelson had better watch their backs now.” But lumping in Lewis with those other hard-living, seemingly indestructible musicians somehow feels cheap; like them, he was utterly, defiantly, brilliantly singular, from the first time he pounded the piano keys or kicked over a bench to the way Kris Kristofferson came to Lewis’ sickbed to deliver the Country Music Hall of Fame citation that was only overdue by about half a century.
Jerry Lee Lewis whipped up an unholy racket in his glory days of the 1950s, and unholy was a key word. Raised in the fire-and-brimstone church that also produced his cousin, Jimmy Swaggart, he was drawn to rhythm and blues music while never really convincing himself that Jesus was Ok with him playing that salacious music of the flesh.

Relativity Media fabricated a memo detailing sexual harassment accusations against its former production president Adam Fields, a Los Angeles arbitration judge declared in late May. The judge’s finding also said studio founder Ryan Kavanaugh “must be” one of the parties who authored the document.
In an interim ruling in April, arbitration judge Terry Friedman awarded Fields almost $8.5 million in damages for breach of contract, and concluded that a memo discussing seven women at the studio who accused him of unwanted advances was fictional.
It’s unclear from the documents, submitted last week as Fields sought to be listed as a creditor following Relativity’s latest bankruptcy filing, whether Relativity signed off on the arbitration judge’s findings and agreed to the proposed settlement.
In a statement issued early Tuesday, a spokesman for Kavanagh and Relativity acknowledged that Fields won “a single count of breach of contract” but disputed that...
