1.Sad news this week in the world of pro wrestling when it was announced that legendary performer Mr. Fuji, Harry Fujiwara, passed away at the age of 83. Mr. Fuji had a long stay in the business, first as an in ring performer, collecting many tag team championships around the world, than as a manager of such acts as Demolition and The Powers of Pain. He also had a reputation as a ribber, someone in the business who pulls pranks to lighten the mood. Hearing a couple of the ribs he pulled off as they were discussed on the Eric Bischoff podcast when he interviewed Hulk Hogan, I have to say I am glad I never made that guy angry. Hide your cats! (Listen to the podcast to find out why.) Mr. Fuji was a legend and will be missed.

Roman Reigns was suspended by the WWE in June for violating the company’s talent wellness policy, but that’s not what has gotten a bunch of wrestling fans riled up. The WWE Superstar, whose real name is Joe Anoaʻi, is known for wearing signature body armor in the form of a reinforced vest that many followers think is conducive to cheating. A Change.org petition launched Tuesday is now campaigning to slap another ban on Reigns and his “illegal” gear. Legendary WWE wrestler and manager Harry Fujiwara, known in the squared circle as Mr. Fuji, passed away on Sunday. He was 82. Fujiwara was one of WWE’s great villains. During his 30-year career, he was a five-time World Tag Team Champion and later a manager to such well-known pro grapplers as George “The Animal” Steele, Demolition and “Magnificent” Don Muraco. Typically donning a tuxedo and bowler hat during his managerial days, he looked like another famous bad guy - Oddjob from the James Bond film Goldfinger. Paul Levesque (a.k.a. "Triple H") mourned Fujiwara on Twitter as he wrote, “An unforgettable character in front of the camera and an even better one behind it. Rest in Peace, Mr. Fuji.” Fujiwara retired from the WWE in 1996 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007. In a remembrance of Fujiwara, the WWE posted their introductory video for his HoF induction on Twitter.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross will need no introduction to many, if any, of you reading this column but something you might not be aware of is that around the same time I kicked off Pinfall, he launched a weekly podcast called The Ross Report and it’s a great listen. (catch it here)
Over the last twelve weeks he’s had an impressive roster of guests on his show including Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Amy ‘Lita’ Dumas, Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts and Shawn Michaels, but it was the guest he had on a couple of weeks ago that has given me food for thought for this time’s column, the incomparable Jim Cornette.
Cornette has been around the wrestling business forever and has a million interesting stories about a million different things and people, but it wasn’t so...

As Wrestlemania 30 approaches, the legendary Hulk Hogan is once again being rumoured to make an appearance of some sort when WWE takes over the Superdome, in New Orleans. Whether he does or not, the Hulkster already has established himself as one of the pillars that Wrestlemania was built on. From slamming Andre The Giant at “Wm 3″, to facing the “Ultimate Challenge” at “Wm 6″, Hogan established a legacy that few could ever measure up against.
There have also been some questionable moments that I will discuss, including his appearances at the 1992 & 1993 events.
So grab your vitamins, say a few prayers, and take a walk with me down the yellow and red brick road of nostalgia.
