'Father of the Bride': Steve Martin and Kimberly Williams. Top Five Father's Day Movies? From giant Gregory Peck to tyrant John Gielgud What would be the Top Five Father's Day movies ever made? Well, there have been countless films about fathers and/or featuring fathers of various sizes, shapes, and inclinations. In terms of quality, these range from the amusing – e.g., the 1950 version of Cheaper by the Dozen; the Oscar-nominated The Grandfather – to the nauseating – e.g., the 1950 version of Father of the Bride; its atrocious sequel, Father's Little Dividend. Although I'm unable to come up with the absolute Top Five Father's Day Movies – or rather, just plain Father Movies – ever made, below are the first five (actually six, including a remake) "quality" patriarch-centered films that come to mind. Now, the fathers portrayed in these films aren't all heroic, loving, and/or saintly paternal figures. Several are...

Some Christmas fliers got their wings clipped - literally. Two jets at New York's Laguardia Airport got a little too close for comfort Tuesday morning, with one ripping the wingtip off the other. No passengers on either plane were injured. American Airlines Flight 1104 from Dallas was taxiing to its gate just before 11 a.m. as Southwest Airlines Flight 449 to Denver was departing. The left winglet - a vertical fin at the tip of a wing designed to improve airflow and fuel efficiency - was ripped off the Southwest plane after it made contact with the American jet's left horizontal stabilizer,...

As is our annual tradition we like to peruse the credits of the SAG Ensemble nods to see who got left out despite their film's nomination. The Film Experience started this kind of analysis ten years ago when The Aviator had some really dumb exclusions and inclusions but lots of other sites now cover the injustice. We never get credit for starting this line of Norma Rae righteous anger but, that said, at least a lot of people have it now.
Did SAG think her face looked like she'd licked a homelessman's ass?
If you aren't familiar SAG uses a system whereby only actors with solitary title cards are official nominees for the Cast category. This means if you are famous in a bit part and have a good agent you are more likely to be an official nominee than the unknown who delivered a better performance in possibly a...

The Movie Pool gets a grip on the virtual reality of the Vr Troopers Season One Volume One DVD set!
The Set-up
Three young heroes do battle in a virtual reality dimension, as one of them seeks to find his missing father. The Volume One DVD set includes the first 26 episodes of the first season.
The Delivery
With its premiere in 1994, Vr Troopers was Saban's attempt to replicate the success of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers the year before. Utilizing Japanese footage with American actors, Vr Troopers treads over much of the same thematic territory as Power Rangers. The twist here is the bad guys, led by Grimlord, want to cross over from the Vr dimension into our dimension and take it over.
I'm sure you're wondering how a virtual reality can actually be a dimension to cross over from, which would negate the "virtual" part, but let's not sweat the technical details.

Hey gang! Check out this awesome stylized steam punk inspired music video for Ben Lovett's Eye of the Storm. The director of the film Chris Alender and producer Kris Eber described the project as “the story of a lonely captain who has to unshackle himself from a troublesome past in order to move on to the next chapter in his life.”
Watch the music video below, and tell us what you think!
Thanks to Gt reader isaacada1 for the tip!
Here's some detailed information of the making of the video:
The production consisted of a Red (Mx) shoot with Ben Lovett decked out in a fluorescent tape costume against blue screen – and not much else. We were tasked to realize the world around their footage within a total of sixty shots.
We had about twelve weeks to do the work, with two to three artists working at any given time.
