- Moved out of Peru in 1978 because there was no film academy in Lima. After wandering in Israel, Spain and France, she attended the famous Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia film school in Rome.
- Is of Polish Jewish origin. Honigmann's grandfather moved his family from Poland to Peru one month before Germany invaded. The family members left in Poland were all killed.
- Won the top award at 2007 Navarra International Documentary Film Festival (Best Film, 9000.00 Euros) for her documentary "Forever" in a unanimous decision by the jury consisting of Mikhail Vartanov, Yael Perlov, Margarita de la Vega-Hurtado, Jaime Pena and Fernando Pagola.
