A lot of brilliant movie ideas never end up making it to the big screen, and it is quite a common thing in the industry. However, it isn’t every day that you hear that a movie that had a name as big as Tom Cruise in the lead cast of the movie did not make it out of production. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened with Warner Bros’ Methuselah movie.

It’s been a year — one in which Barbie pink dominated fashion, the box office and the Oscar red carpet, notably on America Ferrera, who glittered in a custom Atelier Versace sheath, courtesy of stylist Karla Welch. Lest we forget, a side effect of the SAG-AFTRA strike was red carpets being rolled up for four months — but not before Cardi B shut down the Met Ball in Chenpeng and Oppenheimer star Emily Blunt hit the London premiere (an hour early, so the cast could attend before the strike began) in Alexander McQueen, as selected by Jessica Paster. Post-strike, stars like Hunter Schafer, decked out in ethereal Prada as styled by Dara, came back shining more brightly than ever at the Golden Globes. And who doesn’t love a Hollywood icon comeback? The fashion world trumpeted Demi Moore, who wore a Balmain swan as procured by Brad Goreski to the Feud: Capote vs.

The Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation experienced a sharp decline in support from high-profile donors following Will Smith's controversial slap at Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, leading to the foundation's imminent closure.
As per Variety, the foundation's revenue plummeted from $1,760,000 in 2020 and $2,138,660 in 2021 to just $365,870 in 2022, according to tax documents from the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation. The drastic 83% decrease was caused by the withdrawal of key contributors like American Airlines, which had donated $76,160 in 2021, and CAA, which had contributed $100,000 in the same year. However, it's also reported that the Smith family was planning to wind down the foundation even before the incident and that they still plan to donate the same amount to charitable causes, but privately. The foundation's website states that The Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation "has invested millions of dollars and invaluable resources to accelerate the growth of initiatives that focus on deepening individual and collective empowerment.

Timothée Chalamet has proven twice within just the last three months that he is a true movie star. He’s one of the few young actors right now who can open a movie, whether it’s a family-friendly romp like “Wonka” or a sci-fi epic like “Dune: Part Two.”
That both of those were released by Warner Bros. is motivation for the studio to lock his services down as best they can. And so they have.
On Tuesday, WB film group heads Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy announced they’ve signed a multi-year, first-look feature film deal with Chalamet in which he will collaborate with the studio on future projects as both an actor and a producer. No specific projects were announced today.

Miami's finest are on the run in the first trailer for Bad Boys: Ride or Die, the hotly-anticipated fourth installment in the long-running action franchise.
Although co-director Adil El Arbi teased that Ride or Die would be more comedic than the previous movie, Bad Boys for Life, the first trailer isn't skimping on the dramatic, revealing that Will Smith's Detective Lieutenant Mike Lowery and Martin Lawrence's Detective Lieutenant Marcus Burnett will be branded as fugitives in the upcoming sequel. While the trailer doesn't shed too much light on the movie's story, it does look like the inciting incident that pushes them into action will be the late Captain Conrad Howard (Joe Pantoliano) being accused of corruption, with a news broadcast claiming he was working directly with drug cartels for years.

MCU is one of the biggest and most successful media franchises centered around superhero movies based on the characters from Marvel Comics. The franchise includes movies, TV series, short movies, digital series, and literature. The first phase of the MCU under President Kevin Feige began with 2008’s Iron Man and was concluded with 2012’s The Avengers. But, Nelson Peltz, an activist investor, questions Feige’s ability to run MCU following recent disappointments in terms of movies, series, and the Jonathan Majors controversy.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that frequent collaborators Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan – who have worked on Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever together as director and cast member, and have other collaborations that Coogler didn’t direct – have been developing a new project in secret. Coogler has written the script for this project, which is being described as both a genre picture and a period piece that Coogler will be directing and Jordan is attached to star in. The project is set up at Warner Bros., is expected to have a budget of around $90 million, and is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 7, 2025. We’ve previously heard that it might be a vampire movie – and the folks at World of Reel have revealed even more. According to them, it’s RUMORed to be about vampires battling the Ku Klux Klan!

Filmmaker Ryan Coogler is a pioneer in many ways. While he shot to fame with his feature film debut Fruitvale Station which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, Coogler gained huge commercial popularity after he stepped on board to direct Marvel’s Black Panther. The film not only went on to win 3 Oscars, but also created a record by being the highest grossing film of all time by an African American director.

Recently, Marvel made one of the most surprising announcements of 2024, and no, this was not an announcement for a new move but a brand-new gameplay trailer for a video game. This title is called Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, and it is being helmed by none other than Amy Hennig, the same person behind the original Uncharted trilogy of games.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is a brand-new action-adventure title set in the World War II era. It would feature the likes of Captain America and Black Panther. It is being developed by Skydance New Media, and its visuals are just mind-blowing. This is no surprise, given the fact that this game is actually built on Unreal Engine 5. While the game has only been announced recently, fans have already started comparing it with some other forms of media.
Fans can’t help but compare Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra with a superhit MCU movie.

Throughout cinematic history, audiences have been enthralled by an array of villainous characters, ranging from the intellectually formidable to the utterly deranged. While many villains adhere to conventional tropes, there are those whose portrayal transcends cliches, etching a lasting impression on viewers’ minds.
Heath Ledger as the Joker in The Dark Knight
One such character is the Joker, whose many interpretations so far have showcased the immense talent of the actors who brought him to life. Cesar Romero’s portrayal in the 1960s Batman television series marked the character’s first appearance, setting a playful yet sinister tone. However, it was Heath Ledger’s portrayal in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight that truly redefined the role. According to a new report, Universal is looking make an original musical featuring Prince’s music, with Ryan Coogler as producer.
According to Hollywood scooper Jeff Sneider, Universal is looking to go in an interesting direction with its catalogue of Prince songs. Given the current trend for music biopics the studio is instead opting to go in a different direction when it comes to putting together a film project to use the music by Prince that it owns.
The report states that the studio is keen to develop a film that is inspired by Prince’s music rather than going down the straightforward biopic path. It continues that the musical legend’s estate feels that Prince’s 1984 film, Purple Rain (which starred the artist) already covered his life story, which seems to have pushed Universal into going in another direction.

Prince may no longer be with us, but his musical reputation and pop cultural impact lives on. And now, according to Jeff Sneider at The InSneider (and later confirmed by the trades), Black Panther filmmaker Ryan Coogler is throwing the might of his Proximity Media company behind developing a jukebox musical powered by the Purple One's tunes.
Few details are available about the film at the moment, as it's still at an early stage. Bryan Edward Hill, a veteran of the Titans DC universe series, has written a draft of the script, but it sounds like it'll go through further incarnations on its journey to the screen.
The film doesn't yet have a publicly released title yet, but it's set up at Universal.
Coogler, who runs Proximity with his wife, Zinzi Evans, alongside Sev Ohanian co-founded by the director's Black Panther colleague, composer Ludwig Göransson, is also gearing up to make his next film.

Prince will be the subject of a new jukebox musical movie distributed by Universal Pictures, with Black Panther filmmaker Ryan Coolger set to produce.
The script was written by Bryan Edward Hill, who previously worked on television series Titans and Ash vs. Evil Dead.
The news was first reported by Jeff Sneider and confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.
Prince, who died in 2016, has a long cinematic history. 40 years ago this July, Warner Bros. distributed his classic film, Purple Rain. In recent years, he’s been a popular potential subject for projects, including an Elizabeth Banks-starring film that was hinted at in 2018 and an upcoming stage adaptation of Purple Rain.
As for additional details about the forthcoming jukebox musical — like casting, release date, and more — we’ll have to wait and see. If they haven’t nailed their leading actor yet, perhaps a scene akin to SNL’s 2021 Prince biopic skit is playing out now.

Jordan – who have worked on Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever together as director and cast member, and have other collaborations that Coogler didn’t direct – have been developing a new project in secret. Coogler has written the script for this project, which is being described as a genre picture that Coogler will be directing and Jordan is attached to star in. The movie found a home at Warner Bros., and we’ve heard that it’s expected to have a budget of $90 million. Now we know when Warner Bros. is going to send it out into the world, as Deadline reports that it’s scheduled for a theatrical release on March 7, 2025.

Start counting down the days until Coogler’s next film – said to be a period vampire movie starring Michael B Jordan – arrives in cinemas. It’s out in 2025.
Ryan Coogler is one of the most talented filmmakers working in Hollywood today, so the news that he’s returning to direct an original project was especially welcome given he’s spent the last decade producing – the only movies he’s directed since 2015 are Creed and his brace of Black Panther films for Marvel.
While Coogler undoubtedly elevated each of those films beyond the sum of their parts, the thought of him returning to original storytelling for the first time since Fruitvale Station, his 2013 feature debut, is an exciting prospect indeed – doubly so since he’ll also be collaborating once again with that film’s star, Michael B Jordan.

Reports are flooding in, claiming that Michael B. Jordan will be returning to the big screen soon with an upcoming film starring him, which is still untitled at the moment. This is because Warner Bros. recently acquired the rights to this project in a bidding war, and thus, it still needs to go into development in its initial stage.
Michael B. Jordan in a still from Creed III
So far, not a lot of details about this film are available as public knowledge, but from what most reports have gathered so far, it seems like the upcoming film will be a period thriller of sorts that will feature Vampires and take creative cues from the world of anime in the classic Jordan fashion. And hearing this has got the fans really excited for the upcoming film this early on in its creation.

Ryan Coogler has a date to return to movie theaters. Warner Bros. has set a March 7, 2025 release for the project, which will star Michael B. Jordan and arrive in Imax.
The film is untitled, but true to Coogler form, it is described as an event film. Coogler is producing via Proximity Media with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. One of Coogler’s frequent collaborators, composer Ludwig Göransson, will executive produce with Rebecca Cho and Will Greenfield. Warner Bros. landed the project in February after a bidding war and under a unique deal that will see Coogler regain some rights to the project after a number of years. Coogler is eying a production date this spring in New Orleans.

Nelson Mandela, the iconic anti-apartheid leader who went from 27 years as a political prisoner to eventually becoming the first president of a free South Africa, will be the subject of the 30-hour scripted TV series “Mandela.” The project is currently the works at writer/producer Josh Wakely’s Grace: A Storytelling Company shingle.
Wakely has secured the TV series life rights to the late Mandela via House of Mandela Entertainment, the media arm of the Mandela estate. Wakely will executive produce and write “Mandela,” along with South African writer/director Kagiso Lediga (“Queen Sono”) and producer Kweku Mandela (who is also Nelson Mandela’s grandson).
The project, which Wakely compares to a multi-season saga in the vein of Netflix’s “The Crown,” will center on Mandela’s life as he was sent to prison while aiming to end apartheid, the system of institutional racism and segregation that was administered in South Africa for generations.

Michael B. Jordan & Ryan Coogler's New Movie Is Beating The MCU To Something It's Wanted For 5 Years
Coogler & Jordan's untitled project could beat the McU's Blade reboot with a vampire period piece. Coogler and Jordan could continue their movie hot streak with a fifth collaboration set to impress. Coogler's films with Jordan have raked in over $1.28 billion worldwide - an impressive feat.
An untitled upcoming Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan collaboration could arrive before a heavily delayed MCU reboot. The longtime actor-director duo have paved their own path with a remarkable body of work that spans more than a decade, beginning with the critically acclaimed Fruitvale Station (2013), a breakout film for both Coogler and Jordan. The duo has since spearheaded two major franchises, the Rocky spinoff Creed and the award-winning MCU asset Black Panther.
Although Coogler only has four feature films under his belt as a director, his original installments in both the Creed and Black Panther franchises have made him one of the most sought-after filmmakers in Hollywood.

The Rocky franchise is exclusively available on Max, with Creed III streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The Creed movies can be rented or bought on Amazon Prime Video, with each film offering different options. Amazon Prime Video rentals last for 30 days and have a one-week viewing window, while purchases have no time limits.
The Rocky franchise now includes nine movies, but not all of them are available to stream, and many wonder, is Rocky on Netflix? Sylvester Stallone's 1976 Rocky was the start of a franchise that would continue to release new movies for over four decades — and continues today, with Rocky multiple spin-offs and other projects in development. The nine films are a mixed bag, with some hitting all the right notes, while other entries less so, though they all make for entertaining viewing. Stallone headlined the majority of the films, until passing the torch to Michael B. Jordan in 2015's Creed.

Killmonger's character in Black Panther was inspired by Denzel Washington's role in Glory. Both characters share similar physical traits & ideologies, but Killmonger adheres to genocidal tendencies unlike Private Trip. Despite similarities, Killmonger's intensiveness and lack of compromise distinguish him from Private Trip in Glory.
Although Michael B. Jordan delivered a stellar performance as Black Panther's villain, Erik Killmonger, the character was inspired by a classic Denzel Washington movie that grossed $27 million at the worldwide box-office. The success of Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has led to Black Panther 3's development, which will further expand the mythos of Wakanda's greatest warriors. Even though a huge contributing factor to Black Panther's continued success stems from Jordan's memorable performance, Killmonger's appearance and attitude lend themselves to one of Washington's classic movies from the 1980s.

An expert praises A Journal for Jordan's war scene accuracy, giving the film a 7/10 for its depiction of Iraq War realities. Roadside Ied placement in Iraq is discussed, with details on their evolution and triggering techniques explained. The film's underwhelming reception proved disappointing given Michael B. Jordan and Denzel Washington's involvement.
Michael B. Jordan's under-the-radar 2021 movie is praised for its on-point war scene by an Iraq War veteran and expert. Denzel Washington took on directorial duties for Jordan’s drama, based on the true story of a soldier deployed in Iraq who keeps a journal for his infant son. The film made little impression when it was released, despite Jordan and Washington’s involvement, grossing just $6.7 million on a budget of $25 million.
A Journal for Jordan may indeed have largely escaped notice when it came out back in 2021, but at least one expert thinks the film did a...

The latest UCLA Hollywood Diversity report found that diversity is key to ticket sales, noting that Bipoc audiences and women drove the biggest box office winners in 2023.
According to the study, films like “Barbie” and “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” — which featured casts comprising 31-40% people of color — had the highest median global box office earnings ($119.8 million) among the top 200 films of the year, indicating that diversity drives demand for movies.
Researchers noted that audiences of color dominated opening weekend sales for 14 of the top 20 films, particularly when those casts included or were led by people of color. “Creed III,” “Scream VI” and “John Wick: Chapter 4,” which featured notably diverse casts, were the highest earners in their franchises; Bipoc audiences made up at least 60% of each film’s opening weekend domestic audience. Meanwhile, women led ticket sales for three of the top 10 films, accounting for...
