Being a Reagan can be stressful.
On Blue Bloods Season 10, Eddie felt the pressure after she married into the family, and on Blue Bloods Season 11 Episode 3 it was Joe Hill's turn.
Joe's choice to keep his distance wasn't surprising, though it was disappointing.
Finding out that you're a Reagan might seem like a dream come true. The Reagans are a close family that always has each other's backs and manages to find time to laugh at themselves and each other despite their high-stress jobs.
But as Joe said, when you're a cop, it's different.
It's hard enough being a cop these days. Being like, the Kennedys of cops doesn't make it any easier.

When Daily Dead took part in a Locke & Key roundtable call earlier this year, co-showrunner (along with Carlton Cuse) Meredith Averill said that they have "...stories for a few seasons to come percolating in our brains...", and it looks like that statement is becoming a reality, because not only was the show renewed for a second season back in March, it's now been renewed for a third season by Netflix before the second season has even premiered.
Multiple outlets are reporting the renewal news, including The Hollywood Reporter, along with the announcement that Meredith Averill has signed a deal with Netflix for "TV and other projects."
Here's what co-showrunner Cuse had to say about the season 3 renewal (via THR):
"We have some incredible adventures in store for the Locke family in season 3, and could not be more excited to continue telling our story with our great partners at Netflix.

The original “True Blood” is based on “The Southern Vampire Mysteries” novel series by Charlaine Harris. It debuted on HBO in 2008 and ran for seven seasons until 2014. Ball was the showrunner on five of the seven seasons. The series took place in a world in which vampires live among humans after the creation of a synthetic blood substitute that allowed vampires to stop hunting humans for food. There were also a myriad of other fantasy creatures in the show, including werewolves and witches.
Anna Paquin starred as telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details of tonight’s Blue Bloods Season 11 premiere “Triumph Over Trauma.”
“Listen, it was a conscious decision, and not an easy one,” says Blue Bloods executive producer Kevin Wade setting tonight’s Season 11 opener in a post-coronavirus New York City.
“On the other hand, on a purely practical level I don’t want to watch masked actors, particularly,” the showrunner of the NYPD family drama added. “Now, I’ve seen other shows that are doing it and it feels, on the one hand, true and on another hand, anachronistic. The decision we’ve made was not to play the show that way.”

Even though Halloween is already some time behind us, that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy horror movies all year round. Indeed, sampling some of the best genre films during the festive season can be a good release from other commitments. To this end, Hulu is bringing us a few great horror titles for December, adding to what will be a strong lineup of content for the streaming service next month. What pictures, then, should people expect on the platform?

Almost since he became a best-selling author, Stephen King has seen his work adapted for the movies and television.
Just two years after his first novel, 1974’s Carrie, was published, a film version directed by Brian De Palma was a massive hit, earning Oscar nominations for stars Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie. The floodgates opened after that, with a TV miniseries based on his second novel, ‘Salem’s Lot (1979), Stanley Kubrick’s high-profile film of The Shining (1980), Creepshow (1982), Cujo (1983), The Dead Zone (1983), Christine (1983), Children of the Corn (1984), Firestarter (1984), Silver Bullet (1985), and many more coming quickly during the next few years.
King adaptations continued well into the late 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, although the quality began to trail off and many were either quickie cash-ins, direct-to-video clunkers or both. There were high points, of course: Pet Sematary (1989), Misery (1990), The Shawshank Redemption (1994), the TV miniseries of The Stand (1994), Dolores Claiborne (1995), 1408 (2007), and The Mist (2007) are all standouts.

Word of mouth is how many movies and shows gain so much traction in such a socially-charged world, and no one knows that better than acclaimed author Stephen King, who regularly tweets out recommendations for his many Twitter followers. In recent months, he’s enticed fans to check out such releases as prison breakout series Escape at Dannemora, weird Lifetime movie Deranged Granny, and Russian show To the Lake. Earlier this year, he even shared 11 Netflix recommendations to help you survive quarantine, and they’re all still perfectly relevant now.
His newest obsession, meanwhile, makes a lot of sense because it’s partially based on a short story he wrote. Shudder’s A Creepshow Animated Special, which has already gained a lot of attention from horror fans, features two brief animated tales meant to give you a spook, and it seems that King’s a fan of it.
I loved that animated Creepshow.

Director Scott Derrickson will adapt a Joe Hill short story called “The Black Phone” into a feature film for Blumhouse, according to Deadline. Derrickson is penning the screenplay with his regular writing partner, C. Robert Cargill, with whom he also wrote Sinister and Doctor Strange.
The story was initially published in Hill’s first book, a 2005 short story collection called 20th Century Ghosts that put the young author on the horror map before it was widely known that he was the son of Stephen King. The tale follows the plight of John Finney, a young boy kidnapped and held prisoner in the basement of a serial killer, who begins to communicate with his previous victims via a broken old phone.
For Derrickson, the project signifies a return to his moderate budget horror roots and to Blumhouse, with whom he teamed on 2012’s Sinister. The filmmaker directed his first film, the direct-to-video sequel Hellraiser: Inferno,...

The 37 years between the release of Creepshow in 1982 and the debut of Shudder’s Creepshow TV series weren’t exactly kind to the franchise. 1987’s Creepshow 2 just couldn’t quite replicate the magic of its predecessor (despite its best intentions) and 2006’s Creepshow 3 was bad enough to raise the question: “What was it that made the original Creepshow so special?” What was that magical quality the 1982 classic found that’s proven to be so difficult to replicate? When you get down to it, what even defines a Creepshow story?
“Well, they have to be fun,” says Greg Nicotero, special effects legend, co-executive producer of The Walking Dead, and showrunner of Shudder’s Creepshow series. “My criteria is, when the episode is over, I want the viewer to be like, ‘Oh my God, that was so much fun. I didn’t expect that. I didn’t see it coming, but I had a great time.

It’s fair to say that Stephen King‘s Maximum Overdrive isn’t one of the highlights of the author’s career. The 1986 film is his only directorial effort, and is notable for its bizarre living machines and mix of comedy and horror. Despite the experience working on the movie pretty much putting King off from getting behind the camera ever again, though, his son Joe Hill has now thought up a way of making Maximum Overdrive relevant for 2020.
The original was based on King’s short story Trucks, wherein machines come to life due to what’s shown to be a passing comet in the 1980s picture. Another effort was then made to adapt the material via a 1997 television production, also called Trucks, which similarly left audiences and critics unimpressed. However, Hill thinks that the subject matter could be updated, and had this to say in an interview on...
