The Oscar-winning actress is in talks to join Brigsby Bear director Dave McCary for a forthcoming feature. McCary is in negotiations with Universal Pictures about helming the mysterious project. Stone and McCary tied the knot in 2020, making this union a couple’s venture.

Patrick Kang and Michael Levin, the supervising producers of NBC and Utv’s Young Rock, wrote the original spec screenplay for the untitled project. Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Dan Levine will produce via 21 Laps alongside Micheal H. Weber. Emma Stone, McCary, and Ali Herting could join the production effort through Fruit Tree.

Emma Stone is proving two Oscars and being an Emmy hopeful isn’t a curse by any means.

The “Poor Things” Academy Award winner is already starring in Yorgos Lanthimos’ follow-up “Kinds of Kindness,” which will debut at Cannes 2024, and she’s also attached to Lanthimos’ upcoming satirical film “Save the Green Planet,” a remake of the Korean comedy of the same name. But Stone has yet another project in the works too: leading an untitled Universal feature directed by her real-life husband.

Stone is in talks to star in the movie that would be directed by Dave McCary, who is also in talks, an individual with knowledge of the project told IndieWire. The two most recently worked together as executive producers on the Showtime series “The Curse.” Stone and McCary together work under their production banner Fruit Tree.

London, Aug 13 (Ians) An international team, led by British researchers, has developed a simple blood test which may be able to rapidly diagnose, detect and distinguish between 18 infectious or inflammatory diseases — including group B Streptococcus (Gbs), respiratory syncytial virus (Rsv), and tuberculosis.

Using a single sample of blood, the test could enable clinicians to diagnose the cause of fever based on the distinctive pattern of genes being “switched on or off” by the body in response to specific illnesses.

While current tests for some of the conditions can take several hours, days or even weeks, a test-based on this approach would be capable of providing a result in under 60 minutes.

Researchers from Imperial College London explained that a diagnostic test based on patients’ gene expression could drastically improve the diagnosis of childhood diseases, reduce delayed and missed diagnoses, and have a significant impact on health care, especially in developing regions.

Michael Levin, an actor best known for portraying reporter Jack Fenelli during the entire 13-year run of daytime soap opera Ryan’s Hope, died of natural causes on Jan. 6. He was 90 years old.

Levin’s son, Jason Levin, confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter Friday.

Former “Scandal” star Columbus Short was ordered Tuesday to stand trial on a felony battery charge stemming from a March brawl in the parking lot of a Los Angeles bar.

The 32-year-old actor is accused of punching Fenton Hyche on March 15. Hyche suffered a concussion and a fractured eye socket, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. If convicted, Short faces up to four years in prison.
