Mark Harmon’s tenure with the hit series NCIS recently came to an end. But years earlier, the series teased the actor’s character Jethro Gibbs potentially leaving earlier than he did. Many people thought this would’ve been a mistake, including one of Harmon’s own castmates.

Predictable much?
The transition has officially begun on NCIS: New Orleans Season 4 Episode 18, all wrapped up in a mission south of the border.
In case you somehow missed it, Shalita Grant is leaving the series.
Unlike when Zoe McLellan bolted during the summer between NCIS: New Orleans Seasons 2 and 3, the producers have had the opportunity to make Percy's exit feel more organic to the narrative.
That is, if by organic I mean hitting viewers over the head with it for about 10 minutes an episode. Subtle, no. Effective, yes.

First, let's talk about the mission (case feels a little small for an international, inter-agency effort) that intermittently interrupted the departure drama.

Is it time to hold a jazz funeral for NCIS: New Orleans?
Perhaps that's a little premature, but on NCIS: New Orleans Season 3, the procedural is definitely going through some growing pains.
Its ratings are down about 20% from last year. Ratings have fallen from 11.12 million for this season's premiere to a low of 9.531 million, before recovering slightly to 9.616 million on Oct. 25.
Much of that is a result of the move to 10 p.m. Tuesday, traditionally a time for lower viewership, especially with the bedtimes for CBS's typical viewers.
Also, instead of following NCIS, the No. 1 drama on CBS, it's behind Bull, which, granted, is the No. 2 drama. See what impact riding NCIS's coattails can have?
But not all the decline is the result of the time-slot change. NCIS: New Orleans is struggling creatively in a time of transition.
One reason for that was the untimely September death of Gary Glasberg,...

Elvis lives in New Orleans!
The Elvis in this case is Elvis Bertrand, a former Navy analyst turned paranoid hacker who is at the center of the murder mystery in NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 2.
You see, Elvis was the big winner in a floating poker game on the Creole Queen, until he left the cabin for a short time, only to return and become the big loser, as his three fellow players, including Navy Lt. Commander Henry Warbeck, were shot in his absence. Elvis flees, which leads to him becoming the FBI's primary suspect.
Fortunately for Elvis, King Pride has been bailing him out for years, and he knows that Elvis is innocent. So it's a race to see who can find Elvis first, Pride or the FBI.
I'm going to go find Elvis before you, or your cavalry, put a bullet in him.

Zoe McLellan, who played Special Agent Meredith "Merri" Brody on NCIS: New Orleans, will not be returning for Season 3, Deadline has confirmed. It was a creative decision, according to TVLine which broke the story. Her relationship with a Homeland Security agent compromised her position as a special agent. There’s no big easy way to say this: Agent Pride’s team will be down a man when CBS’ NCIS: New Orleans opens Season 3.
RelatedNCIS: New Orleans: Vanessa Ferlito Set as New Season 3 Regular
TVLine has learned exclusively that original cast member Zoe McLellan, who played Great Lakes transplant Special Agent Meredith “Merri” Brody, will not be returning for the coming season.
The reason for McLellan’s exit was a creative decision, seeing as her character had been compromised in the Season 2 finale, due to her association with a Homeland Security agent who turned out to be a misguided zealot.

The second spin-off from NCIS (and technically the third from Jag – which is where the original NCIS series was spun out of), NCIS New Orleans is a very different beast to its predecessors. Whereas the first show was a stoic, patriotic series; and the second was more action and comedy orientated; this third entry in the franchise takes things a more quirky and offbeat direction.
Set in New Orleans the show uses its new location to create a different feel straight away. The fact that Scott Bakula is heading the team as Dwayne Pride adds a certain edge to it. Fans of cult television shows will always know him for Quantum Leap, and he manages to bring attention to the show just from that. To be fair though there is much more to NCIS New Orleans to keep people invested, including another interesting cast choice: Lucas Black, known to fans...
