- Be bold, don't doubt, take big risks, and follow your gut. Believe at all times in the impossible. I am addicted to the entire creative process and really enjoy watching something come from idea to big screen. I am constantly influenced on a daily basis by everyone I meet. I am inspired by moments and capturing moments on film. I pull from life, imagination and dreams.
- Creating is like producing magic. I love finding a sense of awe in all I do. I also love working alongside a team - watching them thrive and hit new heights. I love pushing a team to try new things. The entire process is extremely rewarding. While directing, I fall in love with capturing those 'special moments' and being able to share them on screen. While producing, I believe so deeply in the film it makes me crazy - I'm always up for the most impossible tasks. While acting, I'm able to connect to the small, stunning parts that make human beings unique. Every discipline is such a different beast, but gosh darn it, I love them all!
- I am so proud of what we achieved with Below Her Mouth. The thin lens, zero filter and female gaze can be felt in every frame. This crew brought to life a feeling of being a part of something bigger than the film itself. It was important for us to all expose ourselves, our fears, our comforts and our strengths in order to be creatively transparent. I hope this helps set a precedent for what can be achieved with an-all female crew - and that this shows that it is up to us to be the change we want to see. Rather than being daunted by the low percentages of women in film, we must take action and celebrate the women who are working in key positions of power so future generations can witness the possibility and reach for more.
