After Batman: The Animated Series, the DC Animated Universe, or Dcau, also gained immense popularity through Superman: The Animated Series. The latter series was also critically acclaimed and gave us one of the best iterations of Clark Kent ever. However, the same cannot be said for Superman’s voice actor Tim Daly.
A still from Superman: The Animated Series
Despite being highly popular, Tim Daly did not reprise his Clark Kent role in Dcau’s Justice League series. Tim Daly could never rise to the level of Kevin Conroy, who made a massive name for voicing Batman across several DC projects. The Sopranos actor stated in an interview that he would like to reprise his role again and urged his fans to ask for the show’s renewal.

In the world of superheroes and their adversaries, few characters stand as iconic as Superman and his arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor. However, Tim Daly, who voiced Kal-El in Bruce Timm’s Superman: The Animated Series has shared a special affinity for another DC supervillain, who is often described as an anti-hero and a dark reflection of the Kryptonian superhero, Bizarro.
Superman: The Animated Series
He has made recurring appearances in the DC Animated Universe and has been voiced by numerous actors over the years. Daly also gave his voice to the character in The Animated Series, which offered him an insight into the character. The 67-year-old actor expressed empathy towards the villain, as he fondly recalled his time portraying the complex character.
Tim Daly Shared His Experience Working With Bizarro
Introduced in Superboy #68, Bizarro has been frequently seen as an antagonist clashing with Superman and has taken on the role of an anti-hero as well.

Superman is one of the most beloved characters in fictional media and arguably one of the strongest. Several incarnations of the Man of Steel exist across different forms of media but his depiction in the 2000s animated series Justice League Unlimited remains the superior one.
A still from Justice League Unlimited
One particular moment in the series depicts the true strength of Superman that hasn’t been emulated in any other medium. While Henry Cavill’s Superman is depicted as unhinged and intimidating in the Knightmare future of the Dcu, the Justice League Unlimited incarnation is far superior, and here is why.
Superman’s Most Intimidating Moment in Justice League Unlimited Proves Why the Dcau is the Best
Justice League Unlimited premiered almost 18 years ago, but remains one of the best animated shows, especially within the Dcau. The series has one of the best depictions of Superman and the series finale proves why.

Superman’s incredible 85-year history is defined with intricate detail and unique understanding by those who’ve known him best – the authors, artists, filmmakers, actors and experts tasked with propagating his legend through every medium – in the latest Edward Gross omnibus, Voices From Krypton, published by Nacelle Books. The hardcover book is now available via Amazon, online retailers and popular bookshops, with an e-book edition also available.
Hailed as the most comprehensive examination of Superman in history, Voices From Krypton begins in the mid 1930s with the character’s creation by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and concludes with the announcement of the next big screen adventure, Superman: Legacy. Topics range from Superman’s appearances in different mediums to the individual actors who’ve played the character, from Superman’s Silver Age to present day iterations, and from the subtleties of capturing the Man of Steel to the tentpole moments of his past 85+ years.

Rest easy, the world is safe from evil henchmen once again. After an exhaustive search, Warner Bros. and DC Studios have finally settled on a new Superman. David Corenswet will be taking on his first major leading role as the Man of Steel in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy.
Superman’s leading lady Lois Lane will be played by Rachel Brosnahan, who is coming off the final season of her Amazon hit The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Corenswet has some big tights to fill in the role that has been played by a host of actors on film and TV … and radio.
The first Superman was voiced by veteran actor Bud Collyer on the Adventures of Superman radio show that aired from 1940 to 1951. Collyer also was the voice of Superman in the animated series Superman (1941-1943) and the New Adventures of Superman (1966-1970).

This week, Peter Safran and James Gunn unveiled the first slate of films and shows in their multiyear project for the new DC Universe. With the first chapter being titled "Gods and Monsters," there appears to be something for everyone. We're getting a new Superman movie where the character is finally a good-hearted galoot, a Batman movie that doesn't forget about Robin, a Swamp Thing horror movie that may even be directed by James Mangold, and so much more across both TV and film, live-action and animation.
While there is a lot to be excited about, there was one announcement Gunn made that has me more than a little worried about the future of DC. According to the new co-ceo of DC Studios, we'll soon see a single actor portray each character across film, TV, animation, and even video games.

Nancy Meyers, co-writer and producer of the 1991 Father of the Bride movie starring Steve Martin and Diane Keaton, says late actress Cindy Williams inspired the remake.
In an Instagram post remembering the Laverne & Shirley star, who died last Wednesday at the age of 75, Meyers expressed her sadness over hearing of Williams’ death. And in a brief anecdote, the writer and producer of the film directed by ex-husband Charles Shyer revealed how the beloved TV icon helped make the ’90s romantic comedy a reality.
“What few people know is that it was Cindy’s idea to remake Father of the Bride,” Meyers recalled. “She told me she was watching the Spencer Tracey [sic] version on TV one night and thought it would be a great movie to remake.”

Tom Kenny has been delighting children for decades as America's favorite undersea fry cook, SpongeBob SquarePants. It's an iconic character that has become a pop culture institution, but many fans may not know that Kenny himself is a beloved voice actor beyond his pineapple under the sea. The East Syracuse native has provided voices for well over 500 films, television shows, and video games; from major protagonists to wacky sidekicks to merely additional voices, Kenny has done it all.
Because his role as SpongeBob is so ubiquitous, animation enthusiasts can often spot his stylings from a mile away. Let's face it, there's just nobody who does a fun, nasally character voice like Kenny. However, the man has multitudes. He can be an authoritative narrator in one moment, then a goofy geezer in the next. He even has a few characters where his voice is near-unrecognizable, highlighting the lengths Kenny can go...

Mascot fighters live and die by the quality of their rosters. Super Smash Bros. probably wouldn’t be half as popular as it is if the game didn’t feature an all-star cast of characters voiced by fitting actors. While MultiVersus doesn’t play exactly like Super Smash Bros., it still recognizes the importance of a strong roster.
MultiVersus may still technically be in its beta period, but the game is quickly expanding its library of playable characters. Currently, the title sports 17 playable characters with an additional two confirmed fighters, Rick and Morty, on the way. Given all the leaks we’ve heard and progress we’ve seen, it’s only a matter of time until even more recognizable characters make the jump to MultiVersus.

Nancy Meyers is bringing her filmmaking talents (and her immaculate kitchens) to Netflix, where she’ll write, direct and produce a new feature film.
News of the partnership comes after Meyers and Netflix teamed to release the short film “Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish),” which debuted on the streamer’s social channels in 2020. The special project brought together the cast of “Father of the Bride” and “Father of the Bride Part II” — Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Kieran Culkin, George Newbern and Martin Short — for the first time in 25 years, with Robert De Niro, Florence Pugh, Alexandra Shipp and Ben Platt added to the mix. Meyers wrote and directed the Banks family reunion clip (produced by Reese Witherspoon), which benefitted World Central Kitchen.
Details about the new film are scarce, though the project is described as an ensemble comedy, a formula which Meyers has mastered over her career.

"I need to see my family in person, and not on a screen!" Netflix has debuted a homemade comedy sequel to the Father of the Bride movies. Plus there's an appearance by Florence Pugh as baby Maggie all grown up, and Ben Platt playing Annie's son Georgie, and a few other special guests. This "sequel" is also crafted as a fundraising effort – to support the World Central Kitchen – they're providing meals for families impacted by the pandemic. Because we could all use some Franck in our lives! It's been over 25 years since Nancy Meyers's remake of Father of the Bride premiered, but somehow, it feels like yesterday. The adorable reunion call started with George Banks (Martin) making sure his children, including his youngest (Pugh), and grandchild (Platt) were sheltering at home, Cloroxing, and wearing their masks. A “Father of the Bride” film remake with a Cuban American twist is in development at Warner Bros, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.
Screenwriter Matt Lopez is penning the script for the romantic comedy. For the remake, Lopez will draw on his experience from attending Cuban weddings. Executives Jesse Ehrman and Paul Perez will oversee development of the project at the studio.
“Father of the Bride” was a remake of the 1950 original film which starred Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor. The 1991 version of the film starred Steve Martin as George Banks as a dotting father who is reluctant to let go of his daughter when he discovers that she is getting married. Diane Keaton also starred in the 1991 film as George’s wife Nina.
The 1991 “Father of the Bride” grossed $89 million domestically at the box office. A 1995 sequel followed and grossed $76 million domestically.

Father of the Bride, the 1991 remake of the classic 1950 film of the same name, managed to further cement comedy icon Steve Martin’s mid-career onscreen status as America’s (non-Clark-Griswold) well-meaning, but neurotically insecure movie dad. Indeed, its success spawned 1995’s Father of the Bride Part II, a remake of 1951 original sequel Father’s Little Dividend, before the franchise called it a day. However, a third chapter to reunite the saga of the Banks family, Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish), is now headed for Netflix—albeit with a major catch with regard to its format.
Netflix unveiled a surprise announcement for a “special event” dubbed Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish) on the eve of its premiere, which will stream simultaneously on Netflix and Facebook on Friday, September 25. While Netflix is playing things coy with its descriptive language, the rather abrupt nature of this rollout negates any notion of Part...

I’m sure many of you remember the Justice League animated series that aired in the early 2000s. Well, Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville), who played Flash in the series wants Warner Bros. to pull their heads out of their butts and do a reunion series!
The whole thing started when Phil Lamarr, who voiced Green Lantern, posted a photo of the main cast of the series that featured himself, Carl Lumbly (Martian Manhunter), Susan Eisenberg (Wonder Woman), George Newbern (Superman), Kevin Conroy (Batman), Maria Canals-Barrera (Hawkgirl), and Rosenbaum.
That’s what sparked Rosenbaum to post this:
Warner Brothers, kindly remove head out of butt cheeks and let's do a reunion. It would cost nothing. Let's roll!!!! #JusticeLeagueReunion https://t.co/mZuOM24dCg
— Michael Rosenbaum (@michaelrosenbum) June 24, 2019
With all of the reboots and revivals being produced at the moment, it’s not too farfetched to think that some kind of revival/reunion series could happen.

The long-running Diniverse was the place to go in the 90s and early 2000s for top quality superhero action. Prior to the McU and Dceu, the excellent Justice League adapted several classic comic book storylines and went above and beyond your average Saturday morning cartoon. The final season of Unlimited aired in 2006, capping off the Diniverse storylines and characters that went back as far as 1992’s iconic Batman: The Animated Series.
Now, 13 years after the last episode was aired, the cast is calling for a reunion. Phil Lamarr, who voiced Green Lantern John Stewart, kicked things off by posting a photo of the gang at the Warner Bros. offices in 2001.

If any DC-themed animated movie to drop in 2019 offers the best of both worlds, it has to be Justice League vs. The Fatal Five. The reason I say that is because while it does chart new territory that I’ll detail momentarily, it’s a love letter to those of us who adored the sheer perfection that was Justice League Unlimited. Believe it or not, even the film’s score mirrors what we once heard from the beloved animated series. Rest assured that you’ll feel right at home as soon as you hear a well-placed electric guitar accompany Superman’s first display of heroics.
Right now, I’m guessing that you’re champing at the bit to ask me if indeed this flick is in continuity with Jlu, as opposed to Batman and Harley Quinn, which really only shared visual similarities with The New Batman Adventures.

Justice League vs. The Fatal Five is a reunion of talent and style that bridges the old and the new.
Nearly 27 years after the Bruce Timm-developed DC Animated Universe began in 1992 with Batman: The Animated Series, and 13 after it ended in 2006 with Justice League Unlimited, the so-called Timm-verse is … well, not quite back. Yet the new animated film Justice League vs. The Fatal Five is a reunion of talent, and style, but with a new class of heroes joining the iconic characters (and the actors who voiced them) for a largely satisfying adventure.

When the first trailer for Justice League vs. The Fatal Five dropped earlier this week, we’d suspected that much more info regarding the next DC Universe animated movie would be right around the corner. Luckily, we and other fans of superheroes in general have now been imparted with much knowledge pertaining to the highly anticipated release.

In fact, you’ll be able to get your hands on a copy on April 16th when the flick hits shelves via 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack formats. Or, if you prefer digital, you’ll have your chance to experience the adventure slightly earlier on March 30th.

It wasn’t that long ago when I admitted how Justice League vs. The Fatal Five‘s initial announcement didn’t exactly inspire much excitement within me, perhaps because 2019 will finally see Batman: Hush adapted to an animated film. But once we began learning more about the project and the “sneak peek” featurette found its way online, my interest level rose exponentially.
To succinctly describe why I care so much – and why you should as well – I need only say that this particular flick will serve as a spiritual successor of sorts to Justice League Unlimited, which I believe to be the best animated superhero series ever made. I mean, not only does it reunite Kevin Conroy (Batman), George Newbern (Superman) and Susan Eisenberg (Wonder Woman) as the Trinity, but it also brings back the same character models Bruce Timm whipped up for the aforementioned TV show.

When Justice League vs. The Fatal Five was first announced as being part of DC’s 2019 animated movie slate at last summer’s San Diego Comic-Con, I admittedly wasn’t as excited for it as other gestating projects because it’d sort of been overshadowed by other things such as the long-awaited Batman: Hush adaptation. But now that more details are making their way online, my interest grows exponentially.
If you’re wondering why you should also be swayed, the first thing you need to know is that this picture won’t merely be another sequel to Justice League: War. Even though Reign of the Supermen‘s home video release is still a few weeks away, 2019 is already shaping up to be one heck of a year for DC animated movies. After all, not only will it bring us the long awaited Batman: Hush adaptation, but we also have an original tale in the form of Wonder Woman: Bloodlines to anticipate.

Set to be the second quarter release in the line, it was first announced at last summer’s San Diego Comic-Con. At the time, we all assumed it to be part of the New 52 inspired continuity of flicks, but it’s turned out to be something else that’ll satisfy longtime fans of the brand.

Here comes the Svu bride? In the above exclusive sneak peek of Law & Order: Svu, Kelli Giddish's Detective Amanda Rollins is back on the town with her on and off boyfriend Dr. Al Pollack (guest star George Newbern of Scandal fame) and experiencing the joys of truffles. "We weren't big on truffle risotto in Georgia," Rollins says. "More like shrimp and grits," he says. "Oh, you've been listening," a surprised Rollins says. Has Dr. Pollack turned over a new leaf? The Justice League will face off against a classic group of villains in a new animated movie. Here's the first trailer...
Fans of the Bruce Timm era of DC animated adventures such as Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League are in for a treat: the company's next animated movie, Justice League vs. The Fatal Five, is a nostalgic return to Timm's iconic art style. In fact, if you look closely, the new movie recaptures quite a few of the designs from Justice League Unlimited, including the longer ears on Batman's cowl.
As you'd expect, the movie pits DC's pantheon of heroes against the Fatal Five, a group of supervillains from the 30th century. While they're usually the Legion of Super-Heroes' problem, these baddies have traveled back in time to give Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the rest a hard time.

Exclusive: George Newbern has booked his first post-Scandal TV series gig — a recurring role on the upcoming 20th season of NBC’s crime drama Law & Order: Svu.
Newbern will play Dr. Al Pollack, a charming, handsome and very wealthy doctor who is a past and future love interest to Detective Rollins (Kelli Giddish). They’ve had a tumultuous relationship in past and he has a bit of a wandering eye, but when they reconnect, things might be different this time — or not.
Newbern was a fixture on Scandal as B613 agent Charlie, recurring for the first six seasons before becoming a series regular for the seventh and final season, which wrapped on ABC in April. He is repped by Leslie Rice Management and Innovative Artists.
