Station 19 might be officially over now, but that hasn’t stopped fans from begging another network to pick up the hit series.
The hashtag #SaveStation19 has been circling social media since ABC announced the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off was ending. It’s gained quite a bit of traction, prompting other viewers to join the movement.
So far, no networks have publicly shared their intent to revive the show. But if they did, the showrunners would be completely on board.

ABC might have pulled the plug on Station 19, but those involved aren’t quite ready to give up on it. Showrunners Peter Paige and Zoanne Clack are more than ready to keep going if another network would pick it up.

As yet, ABC has made not a peep about reversing its decision to cancel Station 19 following what was arguably its strongest season. Neither, for that matter, has the network seized the opportunity to launch a Crisis One spinoff. But if the Grey’s Anatomy offshoot were to be offered a new lease on life, Peter Paige and Zoanne Clack — the showrunners who raised the drama to a new creative zenith — wouldn’t just be on board, they’d be “100%” on board, Paige tells TVLine.
“Bring it on,” Clack adds.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Station 19 series finale “One Last Time.”] In the Station 19 series finale, best friends and platonic soulmates Travis (Jay Hayden) and Vic (Barrett Doss) jetted off into the next chapter of their lives, heading to Washington, D.C., so Vic could lead the Crisis One program. Meanwhile, Maya (Danielle Savre) and Carina (Stefania Spampinato) learned they were expecting a baby. Station 19 is over, but could ABC explore a new chapter in the nation’s capital or focus on one of the show’s most beloved couples? Co-showrunners Peter Paige and Zoanne Clack responded to spinoff possibilities. “We’ve been pitched several spinoffs. Crisis One is one of them,” Paige told TV Insider. “There’s even a poster floating around the internet if you go on Twitter right now. We were also pitched a Fosters-like spinoff for Maya and Carina. I feel like there was a third one. We’ve heard several,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Station 19 series finale “One Last Time.”] Station 19 has bid farewell after seven fiery seasons filled with epic action, beautiful love stories, and cherished friendships. In the series finale, which aired on May 30, the crew battled wildfires and a grisly fire tornado that put everyone’s lives in jeopardy. The final episode included flash-forwards during moments of crisis and showed viewers the characters’ potential futures. One flash-forward featured the return of a beloved character in a touching moment that brought Vic’s (Barrett Doss) story full circle. Below, Station 19 showrunners Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige opened up to TV Insider about crafting the series finale, if those flash-forwards are actually reality, and the future of the characters in the Grey’s Anatomy universe. How did you decide on that final flash-forward given that Station 19 exists within the current Grey’s Anatomy universe? Zoanne Clack: We had some thoughts about what...

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers for “One Last Time,” the series finale of ABC’s“Station 19,” now streaming on Hulu.
For a show that spent most of its time putting its characters in mortal danger, it’s remarkable that “Station 19” completed its series finale with nearly everyone alive and well — except, of course, for Kate (Kiele Sanchez), the newest addition to 19 who never did quite manage to become a part of the family. Kate got sucked up into a fire tornado — a firenado, perhaps — becoming the finale’s only casualty. Despite injuries and burns and smoke inhalation, everyone else lived on to firefight another day, with visions of their bright futures dancing ahead of them. After years of dealing with the harsh realities of firefighting, they all got their happy ending.

Spoiler Alert: The following reveals major plot points from ABC’s Station 19 series finale.
After 7 seasons, the time has finally come to say goodbye to Seattle’s hardest-working firefighters on ABC’s Station 19. As they say, all good things must come to an end. But, thanks to some gifts left behind in the finale by showrunners Peter Paige and Zoanne Clack and the writers, fans can expand on the firefighters’ stories well beyond tonight.
The episode titled “One Last Time” continues the story from last week’s episode as Station 19 is battling a raging wildfire targeting Seattle. Everyone is in danger but they’re keeping cool heads and working together to protect anyone else from getting hurt. In a particularly intense scene, the team has to take cover when a firestorm threatens everyone’s lives quickly. They get under aluminum fire shelters that they pull over themselves like a blanket.

Station 19 ends tonight on ABC. The finale will finish off the show after seven seasons. When it comes to what fans can expect, the co-showrunners (Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige) only had a little bit of time to figure out how to wrap up the show for the fans.
It sounds like they did it right, as star Jason George said fans would need some “tissues” to get through the emotional episode. Here is what you need to know.
Station 19 Finale To Be Emotional
There have been a lot of angry fans watching TV this season. Shows like CSI: Vegas and NCIS: Hawai’i ended with cliffhangers. This means that the fans never got closure after all the hours they dedicated to following the shows and their characters. However, Station 19 will have closure because ABC warned them in time to finish it.

How do you say goodbye to a show like Station 19? That’s a nearly impossible question the cast and creative had to answer when crafting the series finale, which airs Thursday, May 30, on ABC. At the start of production, the network announced that Season 7 would be the Shondaland firefighter drama’s last, giving new co-showrunners Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige limited time to figure out how to wrap up storylines and deliver a meaningful farewell for the show’s dedicated fanbase. “We really wanted a satisfying ending. We wanted to serve the show with the honesty and the beauty that has already been the show and pull that forward,” Clack told TV Insider on the Station 19 finale carpet. “We wanted to pull some of the community aspects and pay it forward. We want all of this to continue in the world, all of the good that we believe...

Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Station 19 was canceled so late that the writer’s room had already mapped out the firefighter drama’s Season 7 storyline. “We were very surprised,” recalls showrunner Zoanne Clack, “because Disney had just moved our whole production to the Disney lot, so we figured that they were pretty invested and we would probably have a few more seasons to go. We had fleshed out a lot of what we wanted to see in the season and thought that we could tell this story on a long arc because it was such a short season and we’d tell some of those stories in Season 8. We had to reconfigure what we could tell and what we’d have to leave on the table.” Co-showrunner Peter Paige shares that having to cut many storylines “absolutely was tough. A lot of gold we left in that there river.” With the series end looming,...

Can’t blame a fire hose for the waterworks Friday. They’re all due to the bittersweet video that ABC released ahead of the series finale of Station 19 (airing Thursday, May 30, at 10/9c). “I don’t think anyone is ready to say goodbye,” leading lady Jaina Lee Ortiz (aka Capt. Andy Herrera) admits at the top of the clip. And that most definitely includes viewers.

Since Station 19’s Ross is heading for a wedding, it was inevitable that we’d get to meet at least some of her family. And in the Thursday, May 16, episode of the sadly cancelled ABC drama (at 10/9c), Lost vet Yunjin Kim makes the first of her two appearances as Jeonghee “Jinny” Lee, the bride’s “full Korean sister,” per the network.
The character is described as being “very cross-cultural, well-educated and living full-time in Korea. She’s a woman at a crossroads and not comfortable with that uncertainty, so she spends her time fully knowing what everyone else should be doing with their lives.

Station 19 is coming to an end, and fans are on edge as they wait to find out how their favorite characters’ storylines will wrap up. At the top of that worry list may be Carina (Stefania Spampinato) and Maya (Danielle Savre), known collectively by the Station 19 fanbase as Marina. The couple almost split up in Season 6, but set about building their family after adopting an orphan baby, Liam, in the Season 7 premiere. It’s been a long road for the couple, full of ups and downs. For co-showrunner Peter Paige, they were the characters that brought him into the Station 19 world. “My first episode of the show was their engagement. That’s the first episode I directed, the one where they fight the whole time and then they end up getting engaged at the end,” Paige told TV Insider at the Station 19 series wrap party. “I...

Oh, the irony: In its seventh season, Station 19 is, as the kids would say, fire. New showrunners Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige have done a superlative job of turning up the heat on the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff. So fans are understandably hot under the collar about the fact that before a single one of their episodes had even aired, ABC turned the hose on the first-responders drama, swinging the axe and displacing it from its regular Thursday timeslot. (Instead of kicking off the night, it now ends it at 10/9c.)

As upset as we may be that Station 19 is being forcibly ended by ABC, we can’t say that new showrunners Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige aren’t sending the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff out with a spectacular bang. Take Thursday’s harrowing episode, for example. In “My Way,” a fire at the Space Needle nearly — but thankfully only nearly — did in Ben and Sullivan, who then wasted no time proposing to Ross. (Once he promised never to make her “play or feel small,” she said yes.)

“Station 19” is about to hit a huge milestone, but it’s bittersweet.
Just three days into production on Season 7 of the “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff, as plans for a celebratory 100th episode were beginning to develop, new showrunners Peter Paige and Zoanne Clack learned that the show had been canceled. Season 7 would be its last, tasking them with not only ushering the show into a new era, but also to a satisfying ending. They were not prepared.
“I was sitting on the floor in my underwear, writing,” Paige tells Variety. Clack adds, “I was on a panel in front of 100 people getting constant phone calls, trying to play it off. I didn’t hear what the actual news was until after the panel.”

Station 19 fans are already unhappy with ABC’s decision to cancel the series after its seventh season, with many blaming the untimely end on the network’s acquisition of the canceled 911. Now, it seems, that ABC has only dug the knife in deeper by giving Station 19’s usual primetime 8 p.m. Et time slot to 911.

Spoiler Alert: The following reveals major plot points from the Station 19 Season 7 premiere.

Zoanne shared, “I was on a panel, in front of, like, 100 people. I kept getting calls, and I finally texted and said, “Is this important? I’m in front of people!” And they were like, “Ok, you can wait.” And you know how sometimes after a panel people want to talk to you? [I didn’t do that,] I just got on the phone and then I was told. I called Peter as soon as I heard and was like, “Why did this happen?” as I’m driving to Disney.

Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Station 19 is coming to an end after seven seasons but not before one last big crossover with the mothership series, which may come at the end of the two series’ 10-episode runs, new Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Meg Marinis hinted in an interview with Deadline tied to the upcoming 20th season of the venerable medical drama, which premieres this Thursday, March 14.
She also teased upcoming appearances on Grey’s by the two Station 19 series regular characters who originated on the medical drama, Bailey’s husband Ben (Jason George) and Carina (Stefania Spampinato), indicating that Ben will remain part of the Grey’s Anatomy world.
“I haven’t read their last two episodes yet. I know generally where they’re going,” Marinis said when asked about the upcoming Station 19 crossover. “What I can tell you is that the Bailey and Ben relationship will continue to cross over.

Station 19 will flame out after seven seasons on ABC later this year.
We’ve known this since late last year when the network confirmed that the 10-part season would be the show’s last.
Given the show’s solid ratings and pedigree as a spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy, one of the biggest TV shows on the air, there was plenty of confusion.
Now, the showrunners are opening up about the changes that had to be made since the cancellation news came as production was getting underway.
Peter Paige and Zoanne Clack were confirmed to take over as showrunners from Krista Vernoff. In a new interview, they told TV Line that their aim upon hearing the news was to inform the cast and crew.
Paige said they beat the news “by like, three minutes.”

Having come to love Station 19 as much as and sometimes even more than Grey’s Anatomy, the series from which it was spun, I approached TVLine’s interview with new showrunners Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige with mixed feelings. On one hand, I was delighted, as I was as eager as any overenthusiastic viewer to find out what they have in store. On the other, I was horrified, as the first-responders drama’s Season 7 premiere would mark the beginning of the end: In December, ABC turned the hose on the show, announcing that its next 10 episodes would be its last.

Center Theatre Group presented the North American premiere of Matthew Bourne’s Romeo + Juliet on Wednesday evening, and when it ended, the entire Ahmanson Theatre audience was on its feet offering a standing ovation. After the dance company had taken final bows — with Paris Fitzpatrick’s Romeo and Monique Jonas’ Juliet receiving the love while covered in (spoiler alert!) blood-drenched white ensembles — Melissa McCarthy and Adam Shankman sat back down in their orchestra seats in row F.
The good friends, who arrived together, proceeded to stay seated for another 10 minutes or so to process what they’d seen through tear-filled eyes. “I just love a comedy,” Shankman said to The Hollywood Reporter in the lobby moments later. He was kidding, of course, as the show offers a surprising, dramatic and somewhat violent twist to the classic story of star-crossed lovers.

After more than a decade, Cierra Ramirez is getting ready to say goodbye to Mariana Adams Foster.
The role not only helped launch her acting career when The Fosters debuted in 2013, but also opened the door for opportunities behind the camera. Ramirez has served as an executive producer on the spinoff series Good Trouble since it launched.
It only makes sense that, before the series wraps, Ramirez would don yet another cap on set: director. Ramirez makes her directorial debut with Tuesday’s episode, titled “Party of One” — an opportunity she told Deadline she’s been chomping at the bit for.
“I’ve always been super enamored by what happens behind the scenes or behind the camera, just as much as I am passionate about being in front of the camera,” she said.

The sirens you hear on social media are the sounds of diehard Station 19 fans sounding the alarm over the cancellation of the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff.
The loud signal boosting ahead of what will be the seventh and final season of the firefighter drama comes after ABC on Dec. 8 announced that Station 19 will conclude with 10 episodes this year — the show’s shortest order since it debuted — like Grey’s — as a midseason replacement show when it launched in spring 2018.
With Station 19 and Grey’s serving as the only remaining shows on ABC produced by hitmaker Shonda Rhimes — who is now based exclusively at Netflix — why would the network ax one of its Thursday staples? The answer can be found in the math.
Station 19, which started off as a backdoor pilot in season 14 of Grey’s, finished the 2022-23 broadcast season as the No. 13 drama among the advertiser-coveted...

The first responders of Station 19 are answering their last calls. The Grey’s Anatomy spinoff will end with its forthcoming seventh season. The news, first reported by Deadline, comes after Station 19 averaged 5.2 million total viewers and a 0.7 rating in the 18-to-49 demographic in Season 6, per TVLine. Those numbers are down 15 and 22 percent from Season 5, respectively, but are still good enough to make the firefighter drama tied with The Rookie as ABC’s No. 2 drama series in the demo. In a statement, Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich didn’t explain why Station 19 is coming to a close, but he did highlight the contributions of executive producers Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers and new showrunners Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige. Bonnie Osborne/ABC “For seven seasons, Station 19 has been a highlight of the ABC lineup, thanks to Shonda and Betsy’s incredible vision, beloved characters and compelling storytelling,...

Exclusive: The upcoming seventh season will be the last for ABC’s Station 19. The decision, early in production on the season, would allow producers to craft a proper ending for the first responder drama, a spinoff from the network’s flagship Grey’s Anatomy.
Before it signs off, Station 19 will hit the 100th episode mark in Season 7, which was impacted by the double Hollywood strikes. The series has aired 95 episodes to date; its seventh season will consist of 10 episodes.
Boosted by frequent Grey’s Anatomy crossovers, over the last few seasons, Station 19 established itself as ABC’s No.2 drama series behind Grey’s. Over its run, the series also has been lauded for tackling important — and sometimes difficult — topics and recently received a Sentinel Award from Hollywood, Health & Society for its depiction of systemic racism in Season 6.

Freeform will not be moving forward with new seasons of “Cruel Summer” and “Good Trouble,” Variety has confirmed.

Freeform’s future in scripted original programming is going under the microscope.
The Disney-owned basic-cable network has canceled Cruel Summer after a two-season run and will conclude Good Trouble with the second half of its upcoming fifth season.
Good Trouble, a spinoff of The Fosters, joins Grown-ish in wrapping their runs on the younger-skewing cabler in 2024. Anthology Cruel Summer and Good Trouble were Freeform’s last remaining scripted originals following the November cancellation of animated comedy Praise Petey.
Sources say Freeform executives, led by executive vp programming and content strategy Simran Sethi, wanted to bring back both shows but the ratings for both Good Trouble and Cruel Summer didn’t justify the costs of doing so — especially as Disney looks to cut costs by another $2 billion — and as most viewers watch the network’s programming on Hulu.

When then-Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff added Station 19 to her purview in 2019, she brought in a major change, strengthening the two series’ ties and building an integrated universe highlighted by frequent crossovers, much in the vein of Dick Wolf’s OneChicago.
The new direction was underscored by a scheduling change the following season, swapping medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, which had been airing Thursdays at 8 Pm, and first responder series Station 19, which had been occupying the 9 Pm hour.
The tweak made crossovers natural and seamless, with Station 19‘s firefighters and paramedics responding to an accident and then taking patients to Grey Sloan Memorial where the doctors from Grey’s Anatomy would treat them.
That has been the case for the past three and a half seasons, punctuated by frequent crossovers. But today, ABC unveiled its midseason schedule, in which Station 19 is moving from 8 Pm to 10 Pm for...

Staton 19 has been bringing the heat.
The Grey's Anatomy spin-off has made a name for itself and come into its own in the past six seasons, and it has been a positively thrilling ride.
Station 19 has undergone many changes over the year, from introducing and losing characters to shifts in storytelling and even switch-ups with showrunners.
During Station 19 Season 6, the series explored a few storylines, but most had a common theme that focused on mental health.
The theme impacted a handful of the series' characters with mixed results and focus. Still, it produced some strong episodes and even stronger performances by the show's talented cast.
The season also didn't have a shortage of relationship drama across the board with many of its characters.

Fans can expect to see more action at Seattle’s most dramatic fire department, as ABC has renewed Grey’s Anatomy spin-off Station 19 for a seventh season. In addition, Deadline reports that Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige will serve as showrunners and executive producers on the new season following Krista Vernoff‘s departure. It was announced back in January that Vernoff would be stepping down as showrunner from both Grey’s and Station 19. “It has been the privilege of a lifetime to be entrusted to run Grey’s Anatomy for the past six years and Station 19 for the last four,” Vernoff said at the time. “The passion of the dedicated fandoms and the impact that these shows have on hearts and minds cannot be overstated. The amount of talent in these two extraordinary casts and these two brilliant writers rooms is beyond measure — and these crews work magic week after week.

Firefighters and their personal lives will remain a big topic for ABC during the 2023-24 TV season.
The network has officially picked up Station 19 for Season 7 with new showrunners.
In live + same-day results, Station 19 is ABC's most-watched series, with 3.9 million viewers.

Get fired up: In the wake of ABC’s renewal of Grey’s Anatomy for Season 20 comes word that the network has also picked up spinoff Station 19 for Season 7. But there are changes afoot.
As previously reported, when the current seasons of the sister series wrap, Krista Vernoff will be stepping down from her post as showrunner on both dramas. Grey’s Anatomy vet Meg Marinis was announced back in March as Vernoff’s successor on that show. And on Thursday, the network named Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige — both of whom have previously filled producer roles on Station 19 — the new “chiefs” of the spinoff.
