Despite last week’s episode of iZombie having left us on a cliffhanger with Ravi at gunpoint and the network holding its cards close to its vest by leaving him out of the trailer for “Conspiracy Weary,” his survival is seemingly DC TV’s currently worst kept secret when you consider that not only was he mentioned in the official synopsis, but is also front and center in a new promo clip.
What isn’t spoiled by the sneak peek, however, is how Ravi made it out of alive, so we’ll just have to tune in to learn that detail. Actually, the thread touched on here is that of Liv being suspicious of Major’s new girlfriend. Granted, this may be a result of her being on conspiracy theorist brains, but I’m guessing her concern is warranted. After all, there’s something unsettling about someone who reaches out to suspected serial killers,...

Now that we’re just weeks away from the season finale, iZombie is really kicking it into high gear, to put it mildly. Seeing as how last night’s episode left us on a cliffhanger that saw Ravi with a gun pointed at his head, I’m probably not alone in saying that next week’s offering, “Conspiracy Weary,” can’t get here fast enough.
Unless my eyes are deceiving me, Ravi is entirely absent from the trailer embedded at the top, thus preserving the suspense, but the network has already seemingly spoiled his survival by including him in the official synopsis. Yes, deaths that significant are normally reserved for finales, but you never really know these days.
Speaking of which, “Conspiracy Weary” looks like it may be the most action-packed episode since season 2’s finale. I’m well aware that fans of this series don’t want this to...

In 2004, Upn debuted “Veronica Mars” to what quickly became an adoring audience. Three years later, after a chaotic run that involved a network change, the constant threat of cancellation and a thwarted attempt at a Season 4 set at FBI headquarters, the series came to a close.

This week marks the 10 year anniversary of that last episode, and while it wasn’t the last we saw of Veronica (Kristen Bell) and her friends thanks to the 2014 feature film, the show’s cancellation stung. Fortunately, “Veronica Mars” now has a new, subscription-free streaming home at go90.com, making this the perfect time to revisit it.
For fans who might want to revisit the first season’s highs and lows, we’ve come up with a list of the ten best episodes that demonstrate why “Veronica Mars” remains gone but not forgotten.

iZombie, Season 2, Episode 10: “Method Head”
Written by Kit Boss
Directed by Mark Piznarski
Airs Tuesdays at 9pm (Et) on The CW
iZombie went into the winter break with a number of significant changes, from Clive deciding to no longer bring Liv out to the field with him to Ravi discovering that the zombie cure he’d formulated was only temporary. This week’s episode looks into how the characters cope with these new pieces of information, revealing some interesting twists to the season’s storylines in the process.
Major and Vaughn’s powerplay against each other continues to be a fascinating aspect of the season. Major has clearly learned his lesson from his attack on Blaine and the Meat Cute, and his deliberate, methodical turn against Vaughn is a clear indicator of what a formidable opponent he’s become, something Vaughn was clearly not banking on when he blackmailed...

Exclusive: The CW has set directors for three of its drama pilots. Alex Graves will direct and executive produce The Selection. Written by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain, Selection is based on the book by Kiera Cass. Set 300 years in the future, the epic romance centers on a working-class young woman chosen by lottery to participate in a competition with 25 other women for the Royal Prince’s hand to become the nation’s next queen. This marks the second Selection pilot ordered by the CW; the first one last season was directed by Mark Piznarski. Last year, Graves directed the pilot for ABC’s horror/mystery drama 666 Park Ave. He also helmed the pilot for Fox’s Fringe as virtually all of his pilots have gone to series. Additionally, Graves directed the two-hour opener of Fox’s Terra Nova. Another director whose pilot last season went to series, Bharat Nalluri,...

Six seasons will all boil down to this: The Gossip Girl series finale! How will it all end? We have fresh clues and they come in the form of hot photos from the last ever episode of the gossip worthy show.
When we broke the news that pretty girl Kristen Bell was filming a Gossip Girl cameo, we did some math and put two and two together. Hardcore fans know she provides the voice of the Gossip Girl blogger. That, plus a cameo, could mean she will actually be playing the mysterious blogger. Then again, there may be a twist in store!
The photos direct from the Dec. 17 television event reveal Katie Cassidy’s Juliet will be back! That leads to speculation that she may be the Gossip Girl. What do you think? Jenny and Eric also return.

The CW's official synopsis for the Gossip Girl Season 6 premiere has been released, and it confirms what we've pretty much pieced together at this point: Chuck and Blair are back together ... yet not.
Dan is apparently about to drop bombs in his new book, while Nate prepares to take on Gossip Girl, and Serena is Mia, leading the Upper East Siders to track her down (see season premiere photos).
Here's what the press release for "Gone Maybe Gone" teases:
After a brief encounter abroad, Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) make a promise to each other about their relationship, which leaves them once again apart. Dan (Penn Badgley), with some help from an unlikely ally, Georgina (guest star Michelle Trachtenberg), is writing a scathing tell-all book that can only mean trouble. As the sole head of The Spectator, Nate (Chace Crawford) is making his own decisions and is ready...

"Veronica Mars" has been absent from TV screens since it ended its three-season run in 2007. Until now.
Soapnet aired a marathon of the late, great series on Sunday (April 15), and begins airing a daily two-hour block of "Veronica" at 5 p.m. Et Monday. And yes, we've worn out our DVD sets of the show and streamed episodes online, but there's something about having the show on television again that just makes us a little bit happier.
Re-watching the pilot, it's amazing how self-assured it is. We find out in Kristen Bell's opening voiceover that her after-school job is "tailing philandering spouses or investigating false injury claims," but the show takes its time in doling out Veronica's rather eventful back story. For the first eight minutes or so, about all we know is that Veronica is an outcast at school whose dad used to be the sheriff and had a...

The well-heeled denizens of Gossip Girl occupied Wall Street — namely, Cipriani Club 55 — on Saturday night to fete the CW series’ 100th episode, airing Jan. 30. Seeing as the landmark hour centers around Blair’s wedding to Prince Louis, the cast was on strict orders to, ironically, not gossip about what happens, so “I can’t tell you” and “I’m not allowed to say” were frequent refrains. Even so, TVLine gleaned enough teasey tidbits to paint a provocative wedding picture….

The Creator of 80s series Dynasty has revealed that a new movie is in the works.
Richard Shapiro says the film would be a prequel set in the 1960s, showing Blake Carrington's discovery that he's heir to an empire and his love affair with Alexis.
Shapiro says the script will soon be offered to studios and that no casting is yet in place. He's hoping the prequel will spawn a new franchise.
He told E! Online: "We've given thought to the movie before and we've been approached by a lot of companies, but no one seemed to have a proper fix on it. Then suddenly we said, 'Let's do it [ourselves].

Back in 2009, it was reported that ABC was considering rebooting the classic 1970s TV show "Charlie's Angels." Producer Leonard Goldberg, who launched the series with Aaron Spelling in 1976, is involved with the modern version. Now comes word that ABC has officially greenlit the pilot episode. Goldberg is still on board to produce, along with Nancy Juvonen and Drew Barrymore, who starred in the "Charlie's Angels" films. The long-simmering rumors of a Charlie's Angels reboot have now been confirmed: ABC has given a greenlight to the project.
As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, the show is likely to be on the network's schedule this fall and will be set in Miami.
It will be headed by Smallville writers/producers Miles Millar and Al Gough, with Mark Piznarski (Gossip Girl) rumored to be brought in as director.
Originally a TV series, Charlie's Angels was made into a pair of movies, both of which starred Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu in the title roles.
With news of its remake official, only one question remains: who will take on these main roles?...
As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, the show is likely to be on the network's schedule this fall and will be set in Miami.
It will be headed by Smallville writers/producers Miles Millar and Al Gough, with Mark Piznarski (Gossip Girl) rumored to be brought in as director.

EW are reporting that ABC have commissioned a pilot for a brand new version of Charlie’s Angels, the hit ’70s TV show (starring Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith) that was more recently adapted into two hit movies (starring Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu). The pilot is being masterminded by writer-producers Miles Millar and Al Gough, fresh from guiding Smallville to its tenth and final season this year. Mark Piznarski (Gossip Girl) is rumoured to have been asked to direct the pilot. The series will relocate the action from Los Angeles to Miami.

The show was a huge pop-culture hit during its lifetime (1976-1981), turning Farrah Fawcett into a huge international star. The concept was adapted...

It’s on: Charlie’s Angels just got officially greenlit as a pilot at ABC.
This move has been long expected, but now the project is firmly moving forward, along with Smallville writer-producers Miles Millar and Al Gough. The new modern-day version of the show will be set in Miami.
The producers (Leonard Goldberg, Drew Barrymore, Nancy Juvonen), Sony Pictures TV and Flower Films will now dive into casting to figure out the tricky task of finding TV’s new Angels. We hear there’s an offer out to Mark Piznarski (Gossip Girl) to direct.

Two key series that ran in the late 70's and early 80's are making comebacks, albeit in different ways.
"Dynasty" creators Richard and Esther Shapiro revealed that they are developing a feature film based on the popular soap opera about a wealthy oil family. The film will serve almost as a prequel of sorts with the action taking place during the 1960s and the tone akin to "Mad Men" reports Coming Soon
"It's fun, because the fans of the show will know from the series where each of the characters end up eventually, but what they won't know is how they get there. There will be some very unlikely twists and situations, and people will not be expecting a lot of what we're planning...The movie will be the old Dynasty, of course, but with horns" says Richard Shapiro.
A script is currently in the works, though now studio has yet been attached

A 'Charlie's Angels' remake is a go -- sort of. ABC has officially ordered 'Charlie's Angels' to pilot.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the new series from 'Smallville' writer-producers Miles Millar and Al Gough will be set in Miami. 'Gossip Girl' veteran Mark Piznarski is being courted to direct.
Robert Wagner of 'Hart to Hart' and 'Austin Powers' fame is in talks to voice the unseen Charlie. According to Vulture, the 81-year-old actor had a deal with the late Aaron Spelling and received a stake in the 'Charlie's Angels' franchise, so him taking part in the new series seems to be part of the deal.

"Charlie's Angels" is set to return to television thanks to a greenlight from ABC, reports EW . The original show focused on three women (who changed during the course of the series) who worked as a team of private investigators, receiving their orders from the mysterious Charlie Townsend (voiced by John Forsythe, but whose face was never revealed). The popular series ran for five seasons and, in 2000, launched a feature film franchise starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu. That film also turned out a 2003 sequel, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle . Barrymore is among the producers of the new series (alongside Leonard Goldberg and Nancy Juvonen) and EW notes that "Gossip Girl"'s Mark Piznarski is in negotiations to direct as the series moves...

Looks like the spin-off to the CW’s hit Gossip Girl will actually be a prequel. The new project will focus on a younger version of Gossip Girl's Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford). The untitled series centers on the character as a wild teenager in 1980s Los Angeles, when she was known by her maiden name, Lily Rhodes. In the new project, which is based on an original idea by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Lily moves in with her sister, the black sheep of the family, after a falling out with her parents. In the process, she must adjust to living in the San Fernando Valley (during the height of the Valley Girl craze) and going to public school, having previously attended a wealthy Montecito boarding school. The spin-off will center much of its action on the Sunset Strip (which was in the midst of its own heavy metal,...

It's the biggest mystery on the CW's "Gossip Girl" this season: Not whether Lily and Rufus will find their love child but whether the show will launch a spinoff.
After months of, well, gossip, the show's creators/exec producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are proceeding with a spinoff that will serve as a prequel to the sophomore drama and chronicle the wild teen years of Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford) in Los Angeles in the 1980s.
The network has ordered a backdoor pilot for the project, which will air as a "Gossip" episode May 11. The 1980s world will be introduced in flashbacks tied to the episode's story line of Lily and her daughter Serena (Blake Lively) wrestling with a problem, Schwartz said. He would not add further details.

Jessica Walter, Ryan Eggold zip to '90210'
Two more have moved into 90210.
Ryan Eggold and Jessica Walter have joined the cast of the CW's Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff, which centers on the Mills, a three-generational Beverly Hills family whose two teen kids are attending West Beverly High.
Walter will play Tabitha Mills, the former Hollywood star grandmother whose alcohol problem triggers her son and his family's move from Kansas to Beverly Hills.
Eggold will play Ryan Matthews, a cool English lit teacher at West Beverly High whose unorthodox teaching style puts him at odds with his fellow teachers and sometimes too close with his students.
In the pilot, to be directed by Mark Piznarski, Eggold and Walter are joining previously cast Shenae Grimes, Lori Loughlin, Annalynne McCord and Dustin Milligan.
Eggold most recently co-starred on FX's Dirt and is in CBS' pilot Mythological Ex. He is repped by TalentWorks and Generate.
Veteran actress Walter also played the grandmother on Fox's acclaimed comedy Arrested Development, for which she earned an Emmy nomination.

Film review: 'Here on Earth'
A blue-blooded snob wins the local girl, sort of, in "Here on Earth", a mostly dismissive teen romance from first-time director Mark Piznarski ("The '60s"). Headed for an overall unimpressive showing in theaters despite a hot young cast, the Fox 2000 presentation is made up of entirely recycled characters and situations from the dawn of cinema (if not cave painting).
While lead actors Chris Klein ("American Pie"), Leelee Sobieski ("Eyes Wide Shut") and Josh Hartnett ("The Virgin Suicides") easily keep pace with the dramatic demands of an expedient screenplay credited to Michael Seitzman, Piznarski's direction tends to flatten everything to a deadly degree. The result is a totally predictable movie with fits of charm, at best, that takes an unbelievable third-act U-turn and becomes a three-hankie weeper.
"Here on Earth" has a lot of ground to cover, so it takes just a few minutes for the three principal players to be introduced and the plot set in motion. Kelley (Klein) is on the verge of escape from an Ivy League prep school when he and some pals take his graduation present, a Mercedes, for a spin. On a whim, these hated foreigners go for lower-caste grub in the diner where Samantha (Sobieski) works.
She's the girlfriend of down-home Jasper (Josh Hartnett), who takes umbrage at Kelley being, well, here on Earth. The two guys have a little car race that results in the gas station attached to the restaurant exploding and burning down the entire establishment. Lawyers descend, punishments ensue.
Kelley's megasuccessful father (Stuart Wilson) agrees to have his princely son spend a summer in the gulag, so to speak.
"Richie Rich" Kelley has to live and work with "Farm Boy" Jasper while they help rebuild the diner, under the supervision of the latter's father (Michael Rooker). Sullen and jerky, Kelley gets the attention of Samantha with not much effort. They stroll through the Berkshires and swap stories about Big Losses. He's motherless. She, a promising hurdler, wiped out a knee, but how badly only she and the doctor know.
On and on it goes, and where does it end? Josh tries to stop her from falling in love with Kelley, but Samantha eventually decides the good life is what she's after. When Kelley takes her to Boston and the family castle, it's a swift slide back down to reality. His dad nixes anything serious between the two. A return to the sticks promises some kind of tearful resolution -- and then some, as it turns out.
On the sidelines playing responsible adults are Bruce Greenwood and Annette O'Toole as Samantha's parents and Annie Corley as Josh's mom. Sobieski and Klein are not given much to work with, and their tentative performances probably stem from the writing, but Piznarski's lethargic direction is also a big problem. Andrea Morricone, son of Ennio Morricone and composer of the fine "Liberty Heights" score, contributes an unsavory smorgasbord of musical styles, while the soundtrack is headlined by Jessica Simpson's No. 1 single "Where You Are".
