[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Loot Season 2, Episode 4, “Mr. Congeniality.”] Loot’s latest episode welcomed a very special guest star with the appropriately titled installment, “Mr. Congeniality.” Benjamin Bratt stepped in to play a version of himself as Molly (Maya Rudolph) visited a swanky meditation retreat for her mental well-being. Things took a hilariously heated turn as Molly couldn’t hide her attraction to the movie star. Much to Molly’s delight, Bratt expressed an equal interest in her. But how did this amazing guest star appearance even come together? It turns out that there’s a Poker Face connection as Natasha Lyonne, who stars in the Peacock series is an executive producer on Loot and suggested her costar Bratt for the role. Apple TV+ “I mean, you yourself Poker Faced that… Natasha did suggest Benjamin Bratt,” co-creator Alan Yang says with a laugh. “She was like, ‘he’s incredible!’ And she really liked working...

After going on a worldwide bender, newly single 45-year-old Molly Wells (Rudolph), who became the world’s third-richest woman after divorcing her tech billionaire husband, decides to run the day-to-day operation of the charitable foundation she forgot that she had founded, much to its employees’ chagrin. In the final minutes of the season one finale of Loot, the show’s protagonist, Molly Novak (played by Maya Rudolph), wakes up with a multi-layered hangover after a night of drinking one too many and welcoming her ex-husband, John Novak (Adam Scott), back into her bed. Yet despite the shocking cliffhanger audiences were left with, the scene in no way foreshadows a future reunion between the couple who divorced after John’s infidelity. Just minutes into the first episode of the second season of the Apple TV+ series, Molly tells John the only thing she wants from him going forward is “space.”
“Listen, there’s no Team Molly-John here, except for John,” Rudolph tells The Hollywood Reporter in the conversation below. “John’s the only one voting for that and he is completely outnumbered, let’s be honest.”

One or more individuals have been fraudulently posing as officials from “The Drew Barrymore Show” in attempts to scam talent and other guests involved with the star’s talk show, Variety can report exclusively.
The ruse, which did not originate from the syndicated series or its producer CBS Media Ventures and Paramount Global, has been flaunting “paid opportunities” for prospective guests and attempting to arrange social media efforts like Facebook broadcasts. According to three sources, some vendors of the show have been solicited for invoices, which included requests for personal banking information. The issue was escalated to legal affairs and the It department at corporate parent Paramount Global in recent days.
The talent booking team at “The Drew Barrymore Show” began notifying celebrity representatives across the industry about the matter on Friday.

Welcome to Emmy Experts Typing, a weekly column in which Gold Derby editors and Experts Joyce Eng and Christopher Rosen discuss the Emmy race — via Slack, of course. This week, we discuss the top-heavy Best Comedy Actress category.
Christopher Rosen: Hello, Joyce! We’re back to type about comedy — and not the comedy of seeing Tom Ripley try to dodge a runaway motorboat. I’m typing about real comedy… like “The Bear.” Well, Ok, maybe not just “The Bear” since that’s all but assured of winning multiple Emmy Awards in September in a rerun of the 2023 (’24) Emmys we just saw in January. But let’s start there because while we agree with the consensus that the series, Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach should all repeat as Emmy winners this year, we’re both against the current tide in the Best Comedy Actress race. Lorne Michaels has a reputation for not accepting SNL cast resignations until they’ve had a few months to think about it. It would seem it’s not without good reason.
In a new interview with The New York Times, Maya Rudolph recalled quitting the show after her seventh season, only to change her mind.
“I wasn’t ready to leave when I [first] left,” she told the Times. “I kind of left twice, I said goodbye, and I was like, Oh, I’m back for one more.”
One can be forgiven for not remembering, but Rudolph did all of this quite publicly.
With just five days to go before the show’s Season 33 premiere, she told NBC that she was stepping down.
A day later, NBC made another announcement—that Rudolph had changed her mind.

Rebel Wilson details how Hollywood’s pay scales can increase exponentially in her new memoir, Rebel Rising. The actress and comedian opens up about her salaries for Bridesmaids and the Pitch Perfect trilogy.
Wilson writes in the book that she was paid only $3,500 for 2011’s Bridesmaids, which starred Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne and Melissa McCarthy (Wilson played Brynn, the obnoxious roommate of Wiig’s Annie Walker). The women of Saturday Night Live are commenting on a viral TikTok video that claims the NBC sketch show has “never hired a hot woman.”
“Am I the only person who’s ever noticed that SNL has never hired a, like, hot woman?” the TikTok creator, who goes by the name of Jahelis, said. “And I want to be clear, I’m not saying that every single woman who has been a cast member of SNL is ugly, it’s just that none of them have ever been like, hot… They all just kind of have looks that eventually grow on you.”
The video got the attention of current SNL cast member Sarah Sherman, who reshared it on X (formerly Twitter) and added, “I just found out I’m not hot. Please give me and my family space to grieve privately and uglily at this time.”

“Reservation Dogs” took the industry by storm. Critics and audiences alike fell in love with this FX comedy from Sterlin Harjo and Oscar-winner Taika Waititi. The series follows the lives of four Indigenous teenagers living in rural Oklahoma who try to scrape together enough money to leave behind their reservation community.
The reason the show soars so high is its spectacular cast, at the center of which is a quartet of brilliant young actors: Devery Jacobs, D’Pharoah Woon-a-Tai, Paulina Alexis, and Lane Factor. Jacobs is perhaps the jewel in this crown, as noted by critics.

Lorne Michaels is an expert at celebrating the legacy of “Saturday Night Live.” The show’s creator has produced variety specials for the NBC program’s 15th anniversary, 25th anniversary and 40th anniversary, so the upcoming 50th season should have a highly entertaining spectacle. Nothing less than a three-hour event would be expected, but how else should “SNL” celebrate the golden anniversary season, which would begin in the autumn of 2024 and continue through May, 2025?
Here is our exciting, fun suggestion for a way to go above and beyond for the live special. Over the course of a 20-22 episode season, NBC would certainly have almost every episode featuring the current cast along with hot guest hosts and musical guests. However, for the other five episodes spread out over several months, devote an entire 90 minutes to each previous decade. Invite back the biggest cast members from a decade along with well-known guest hosts and music stars.

Loot is officially returning for the latest chapter in do-gooder billionaire Molly Wells’ (Maya Rudolph) story on April 3, and she’s making some big changes in Season 2, according to creators Matt Hubbard and Alan Yang. “So much of Season 1 is sort of having her eyes opened to the world around her and these other people around her culminating in this huge promise she makes of, ‘I’m going to give all my money away.’ And I think through Season 2, the conflict is that is strangely easier said than done,” Hubbard teases. In other words, Molly struggles to find the right way to dole out her charity to those in need. “I think it’s very easy to give money to people who don’t deserve it or are bad actors, and so we spend some time exploring that,” Hubbard continues. As viewers will recall, Season 1 saw Molly promise to give...

Loot on Apple TV+, unlike what the name suggests, is not a heist show. This one is rather an endearing take on a rich woman who is never considered as an emotional person and constantly sidelined for having a lot of money. Created by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, the show stars Maya Rudolph as a 45-year-old divorcee struggling with her life and yearning to do something different.
Loot season 1 focused on Molly Novak, the wife of the tech billionaire John Novak. She was seemingly happily married to him until she learned of his infidelity. Molly got a divorce and a hefty alimony, a palatial home in Los Angeles with many helpers at her disposal. Molly, at the age of forty-five, had everything but a life of her own. She had her assistant Nicholas, who supported her through marriage and the divorce, but craved for genuine friends and partners, something...

Drew Barrymore had Maya Rudolph as a guest on The Drew Barrymore Show and recalled she had to beg to do the Saturday Night Live digital short “Body Fuzion.”
The daytime show host recalled that back in 2007, she had to plead to do the skit that parodied ’80s workout videos. Lonely Island, consisting of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer, produced the skit that almost didn’t happen.
“I remember that week that Akiva, Jorma, and Andy were like, ‘You know what? We aren’t going to do a short this week,'” Barrymore recalled. “And I was like, no, no, no, no.”
Rudolph noted that “those were early days before they had to do one every single week because they were so good.”
“I kept begging,” Barrymore added. “I would go into their office every single day and I was like, I know it’s me again.”

Hoda and Jenna aired on Wednesday, March 27, but after a bit of time, Hoda Kotb disappeared from the show, requiring someone else to step into the gap. At the time, there was no explanation as to why the Today talk show’s co-host left, but there are a few things that might have needed her attention.
Hoda Kotb & Jenna Bush Hager Got A Stand-In Co-Host
Sometimes, the co-hosts on Today need time for either personal recreation or important reasons. However, if they go away, they often announce it before departure. Actually, Hoda was away recently, taking a nice break. So something else must have popped up. However, she also runs the Making Spaces podcast, and on March 27, she talked on social media about interviewing author Arthur Brooks. So perhaps she left Hoda and Jenna early for that.

Saturday Night Live wasn’t all laughs. During a Tuesday visit to The Tonight Show, Maya Rudolph and host Jimmy Fallon recalled a special moment at the read-through table.
Rudolph recalled pitching a heartfelt tribute to Ferrell during his last read-through in 2002. It never made it onto the air, but it lives on in the memories of those who were there.
“Do you remember Will’s last read-through, when you did Poetry Man and we were all just crying?” Fallon asked Rudolph.
“At the last table read, you write stuff that you know isn’t going to make it on the show, but you just do it to send off the person that you love,” Rudolph explained to the audience. “We did, it was like a parody of the Phoebe Snow song [Poetry Man], but I made it: ‘You’re the comedy man/You make everything alright.’”

Jimmy Fallon and Maya Rudolph Reminisce on Will Ferrell’s Various ‘SNL’ Behind-the-Scenes Alter Egos
Maya Rudolph reunited with her former Saturday Night Live castmate Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Tuesday night, where they reminisced over co-star Will Ferrell’s behind-the-scenes antics at Studio 8H.
Fallon asked Rudolph if she remembered a character that the Anchorman star created on set.
“Are you talking about Chip Kudrow or Ron?” interrupted Rudolph.
The host noted that the character he was thinking of was Chip Kudrow, a persona that Ferrell used for an ongoing bit, where he pretended to be Lisa Kudrow’s brother.
Rudolph explained, “Will Ferrell had a character named Chip Kudrow who would just show up at our pitch meetings.”
It’s clear that Ferrell had various alter egos on set, as Fallon asked Rudolph if Chip was the one who wore a referee shirt or overalls. This prompted Fallon to mention another one of the Barbie star’s characters, named Ron.

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles launched its annual Make March Matter campaign at the beginning of March, joining forces with entertainment A-listers to raise money for the L.A. hospital.
The campaign has historically had plenty of star power to help fundraise for the hospital – Oscar-winner Jamie Lee Curtis kicked off last year’s campaign – and this year is no different, with actress Maya Rudolph partnering with high-end jeweler Irene Neuwirth to support Chla’s month-long fundraising campaign.
“I was really honored,” Rudolph told The Hollywood Reporter about being asked to get involved.
The annual campaign aims to raise $1 million during the month of March by partnering with local businesses around L.A. Each business chooses the way it contributes, with some selling special items dedicated to supporting Chla and others donating portions of their overall sales for the month.
The Emmy-winning Saturday Night Live alum co-hosted an event with Neuwirth at the jeweler’s L.

A new rumor has the internet buzzing. This new rumor says that Disney is going to reboot the popular 1980s hit show “The Golden Girls” with a new cast, including Tina Fey as Dorothy, Amy Poehler as Sophia, Lisa Kudrow as Rose, and Maya Rudolph as Blanche. It is rumored to have ten episodes and will be released this summer on Disney+.
Is this true?
No. It’s yet another satirical post from the Facebook Page Yoda Bby Aby.
It was part of a bunch of joke posts they made about new films and shows coming to Disney+, including Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya starring in a new “Splash” movie, Andrew Garfield and Megan Fox in a remake of “Mannequin,” and Zendaya as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
None of it is real. It’s completely fake and none of these are in production. It’s just another joke on the internet.

Maya Rudolph is the latest star to address calls for a sequel to her hit movie Bridesmaids.
The female-led 2011 comedy was a breakout hit in the genre and was expected to herald a generation of similar films.
In the years since it premiered, many have hoped for a sequel to catch up with the characters. However, costar Kristen Wiig recently made it clear that one was not in the works and likely never would be. Following her revelation, Maya revealed what she thought about the possibility.

Bridesmaids made history when it premiered, and it’s an enduring classic that’s still quotable to this day. That’s in large part down to the movie’s incredibly talented cast of stars.
Centered around Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Rose Byrne, the female-fronted comedy features endlessly quotable lines, unforgettable gags and scenes that are still leaving viewers in stitches over two decades after premiering.
So many members of the cast have had successful careers in Hollywood, and they wracked up impressive fortunes in the process.
But who is the wealthiest? We did some digging and looked at the estimated net worth of the biggest celebrities to appear in the movie and ranked them. The top earner was worth nearly $100 million, which is double what the star in the No. 2 spot is worth!
