With writer/director Declan O’Brien’s Joy Ride 3: Road Kill releasing to DVD and Blu-ray this Tuesday, June 17th, here’s additional coverage stemming from our set visit last summer to the same in Winnipeg, Canada.
Written and directed by O'Brien, whose previous horror entries include the Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment features Wrong Turn 3, Wrong Turn 4 and Wrong Turn 5 (as well as Syfy's Sharktopus), Joy Ride 3: Road Kill (review) originated with the 2001 Paul Walker-starring, J.J. Abrams-co-scripted film Joy Ride.
Produced by Kim Todd, this installment (which melds the worlds of tuner car racing and road-trip horror) stars Ken Kirzinger (Freddy vs. Jason) as the project's villainous truck driver 'Rusty Nail.’
Joining him are Kirsten Prout (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) as tuner-car girl ‘Jewel McCaul,’ Jesse Hutch (Freddy vs. Jason) as racer ‘Jordan Wells,’ Benjamin Hollingsworth (of the television series “Cult”) as mechanic ‘Mickey Cole,...

Writer/director Declan O'Brien's 'Joy Ride 3: Road Kill' is now available on VOD and will shortly be arriving on both DVD and Blu-ray. And Shock Till Your Drop have managed to score a trio of new and exclusive stills from the movie which sees the murderous trucker Rusty Nail back on the road and doing what he does best...knocking off unsupecting young drivers. I can't imagine when it lands here in the UK it'll have the same title as the 'Joy Ride' franchise itself is already known here as 'Roadkill', so deal with that marketing pros. The threequel stars Kirsten Prout, Dean Armstrong, Ben Hollingsworth, Jesse Hutch, Gianpaolo Venuta, Leela Savasta, Sara Mitich, J. Adam Brown and Jake Manley. Head below for the new images....

As fans of The Firm may have noticed, the cancelled legal drama was bumped from the schedule once again last Saturday night. As a result, NBC has adjusted their schedule and delayed the final four episodes by one week each.
If you watch the show via Hulu, you may have already seen the 19th episode. A note on the streaming website says, "Due to a programming error, Chapter 19 went up earlier than intended. We apologize for the error - it will become available again this weekend."
You can see the revised airdates below, as well as brief episode descriptions:
"Chapter Nineteen"

It’s funny; given the premise of “The Words”, I thought this would be a thriller along the lines of, say, a Stephen King novel. But turns out, it’s mostly a drama/romantic movie sans anything really dangerous going on. Go figure. Anyways, put down your books and take a gander at the first trailer for Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal’s “The Words”. Young writer Rory Jansen finally achieves long sought after literary success after publishing the next great American novel. There’s only one catch – he didn’t write it. As the past comes back to haunt him and his literary star continues to rise, Jansen is forced to confront the steep price that must be paid for stealing another man’s work, and for placing ambition and success above life’s most fundamental three words. Starring Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Ben Barnes, Jeremy Irons,...

Episode 208 “I’ve Got You Under My Skin”
After last week’s surprise ending where Aidan (Sam Witwer) blasted a hole in Connor’s (Jon Cor) heart, we expected him to lay low and deal with the aftermath, but he managed to top that feat this week. Also Josh (Sam Huntington) gets an intervention and Sally (Meaghan Rath) considers her current status of unemployment in what was another fine week of Being Human.
Sally
Last week’s haunting of Sally was a tease because we actually thought Danny (Gianpaolo Venuta) was back this season but thankfully (?) he was shredded by the Grim Reaper (Dusan Dukic), but what was unsettling heading into “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” was knowing that Sally’s time was coming. The Reaper had to fill his quota, and maintain the balance in the afterlife. What would be her way out? Become the grim reaper...

Worst. Manicurist. Ever.
Being Human Air Date: 2/27/2012 “The Ties That Blind”
Aidan’s running through the woods and bumps into fellow vampire Atlee: four wolves are after him. They run away faster. Cut to the morning with Nora and Josh waking up in the same woods, naked and caked in blood and dirt, making a convincing case for cameos in The Hangover 3. And bam, that’s how you start an episode.
A long time coming, but the rest of the vampire community is finally sniffing around Hegeman’s (Mother’s second in command) disappearance and murder. Viewers know Nora killed Hegeman during her first turn in the season premiere, and Mother’s lackey Atlee (Kyle Gatehouse) comes to Aidan at the hospital to imply that not only was Aidan involved but promises consequences should no progress be made in their pursuit of vengeance.
Last week, disregarding Aidan’s advice, Josh...

Check out four new images from directors Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal’s dramatic thriller “The Words”. The film has no release date yet, but look for it sometime in 2012. Given the nice cast, I think it should get some attention (Cooper is still a big name, right?), but you’re probably not looking at a wide release, though I suppose that’s entirely possible. Klugman is an actor turned director, and “The Words” is his feature film debut, while his co-director Sternthal has a writing credit on “Tron: Legacy”. When an aspiring writer claims another man’s long lost work as his own, the price he must pay is more than he could have ever imagined. The cast includes Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Ben Barnes, Jeremy Irons, Dennis Quaid, John Hannah, J.K. Simmons, Michael McKean, Zeljko Ivanek, Ron Rifkin, Liz Stauber, Gianpaolo Venuta, and Nora Arnezeder...

You know a show’s good when it’s difficult to concentrate about the details from older episodes because you’re still trying to figure out how the latest changes everything. That’s where I’m at each week reviewing Being Human; it’s that good.
“I See Your True Colors and That’s Why I Hate You” has Josh (Sam Hunitington) taking Emily (Allison Louder) back home to be safe away from Marcus (Vinccent LeClerc) and other vampires, per Aidan’s (Sam Witwer) orders. Emily’s attack was a direct message towards Josh and Aidan was not going to have it. In the meantime, Sally (Meaghan Rath) tries to get at Danny (Gianpaolo Venuta) and warn Bridgit (Angela Galuppo) that she’s dating a murderer.
“There’s a reason monster’s hide under the bed. We’re more scared of you than you are of us. That look on your face,...

“It Takes Two to Make a Thing Go Wrong” refers to everyone pairing up; Aidan (Sam Witwer) and Josh (Sam Huntington) get their groove on. Meanwhile, Sally (Meaghan Rath) finds a new girlfriend while Josh’s sister, Emily loses hers. It was another night where the mysteries kept moving, the funny lines were flowing, and the bad blood was burning. Let’s see what stood out for our new favorite roommates.
Sally
“I’m sorry, am I supposed to be over the whole wrongly death thing by now?”
Befriending a poltergeist may be the beginning of a treacherous road for Sally. Hopefully, Lindsey (Kaniehtiio Horn) may be able to teach her some cool stuff, like making Danny (Gianpaolo Venuta) imagine he has syphilis or something equally terrible. There’s something about these people who help out our three protagonists though, they seem cool at first but wear their welcome out fast.

What truly occurred as compared to what one thinks happened doesn’t always match up. In last night’s episode of Being Human viewers learned plenty about Sally (Meaghan Rath and Josh (Sam Huntington), who both find out the truth about what or who made them a ghost and a werewolf. Meanwhile Aidan (Sam Witwer) staves off another plan by Bishop (Mark Pellegrino) to meddle in his attempt at normalcy. It was easily the best all-around episode of the season so far.
Sally
Danny (Gianpaolo Venuta) quickly went from the grieving widower to the biggest scumbag on the planet. The fact he hasn’t visited her grave but has pictures of Bridget (Angela Galuppo) all over his apartment were clues that he never truly loved Sally. Which is why it’s become quickly apparent what Sally must do and that’s to reach out to Bridget and warn her of the monster she’s dating.

In the third episode of Syfy’s Being Human, we learned lots of new rules about Aidan (Sam Witwer), Josh (Sam Huntington), and Sally (Meaghan Rath). The boys got Sally a helpful, but a little creepy ghost mentor, Tony DePaulo (Dan Jeannotte) to enlighten her on what she can and can’t do. Aidan dealt with someone from his past, and Josh was busy with being part of a neighborhood watch. Let’s take a look at each of them and what that could mean down the road.
Sally
Ghosts are not bound to one vessel
As Tony instructed Sally, “Doors, floors, they don’t matter; we’re energy.” Sally can teleport by concentrating on where she wants to go and now she can help out both Aidan and Josh as long as she knows where she’s going to. So she probably still couldn’t have helped Josh when...

One of the more clever discoveries this new year is Syfy’s supernatural drama-comedy, Being Human. It’s best described as part Buffy the Vampire Slayer, minus the slaying; True Blood, minus the bayou; a shot of Grey’s Anatomy, minus the melodrama; Ghost minus Oda Mae Brown and Three’s Company (you read right) minus… well, Larry.
The simple premise is this: a nurse Aidan (played by Sam Witwer, Smallville and Battlestar Galactica) and orderly Josh (Sam Huntington, Superman Returns) are also a vampire and a werewolf respectively. They move into a house in Boston that’s inhabited by a ghost named Sally (Meaghan Rath, 15/Love). Sally was engaged to marry Aidan and Josh’s landlord, Danny (Gianpaolo Venuta) before she died tragically falling down the stairwell, and now she is homebound. Now the three of them are just trying to live a “normal” life as roommates without drawing attention to their supernatural lives.

Today, it was announced at Canada's Hockey Hall of Fame that the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival's opening film will be none other than the Canadian film Score: A Hockey Musical. Moreover, this film by director Michael McGowan (One Week) will hit Canada's theatres on October 2.
In this film, Olivia Newton-John (Grease) and songwriter Marc Jordan both play the parents of a teenager (Noah Reid). This kid's mom home-schools him, feeds him with organic foods, takes him to the art gallery and becomes dismayed when he reveals a love for Canada's most popular sport (i.e. hockey) even though he has never played in an organized league. Moreover, with his talent, this kid will get out of obscurity to become a hockey celebrity overnight.
The film also stars singer Nelly Furtado, as a hockey fanatic, Stephen McHattie, Dru Viergever, Hawksley Workman, Dave Bidini, John Pyper-Ferguson, Wesley Morgan, George Stroumboulopoulos, Brandon Firla,...
