After graduating from Manchester West High School in Manchester, New Hampshire, he earned a degree from Northwestern University, then he took his act on the road. He worked with the traveling troupe of a group called Boom Chicago.
His father, Lawrence "Larry" Meyers, Jr., works with GE Trade Finance. His mother, Hilary Claire (née Olson) Meyers, is a legendary teacher of French at McKelvie Middle School in Bedford, New Hampshire; she is known almost universally throughout the town as Madame Meyers.

An avid Boston Red Sox fan, he donated his Celebrity Poker Showdown winnings to the Jimmy Fund, which is a Boston-area charity that specializes in children's cancer treatment. It has been associated with the Red Sox for over 50 years.
