Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw in ‘Tracker’ episode 8
CBS’s Tracker season one episode eight finds Colter (Justin Hartley) heading to Camden, Maine to take on the case of a missing dockworker named Ethan Sullivan. Sully’s fiancée, Daniella, is offering a $10,000 reward.
Sully’s been missing for two days, and the police haven’t come up with any clues to his disappearance. Colter wonders if Sully just got cold feet, and Velma (Abby McEnany) and Teddi (Robin Weigert) suggest he keep an open mind.
Colter speaks with Daniella and learns Sully’s smart and wants to get off the docks. Daniella’s parents stress the wedding is in two weeks, so they need answers now. They have already spent a lot of money, and now they need to come up with a $10,000 reward. The timing’s not great.
Daniella reveals Sully uses an old flip phone and its battery always dies.

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Wednesday’s episode of “The Conners.”)
Becky swore at the end of last week’s episode of “The Conners” that the one drink would be her last, but as anyone familiar with substance-abuse issues can attest, things aren’t always so simple.
Wednesday’s two-part episode saw Becky’s bad decision turn into a full-blown relapse when her dream of going back to school puts a strain on her relationship with her baby, who now feels more comfortable with her father’s relatives than with the always-busy Becky.
“It’s kind of like damned if you do, damned if you don’t,” Lecy Goranson said in an interview with TheWrap. “Do I work? Do I make something out of myself to the detriment of my relationship with my daughter? What else can she do? She feels like she’s out of options.”

The African-American Film Festival Releasing Movement's (Affrm) multi platform label, Array, has announced "Big Words" as their sixth acquisition. The film was a Slamdance festival favorite and is the first feature for Neil Drumming, who is a former Entertainment Weekly writer. "Big Words" centers around a group of friends who formed a hip-hop crew in their youth but separated over time and come together again on the eve of Obama's election. The crew is made up of John (Dorrian Missick), James (Gbenga Akinnagbe) and DJ Malik (Darien Sills-Evans). John used to be known as Big Words but is now a working class guy who left behind his days of rapping and while James used to rap about getting girls, he is now a publicist living with his boyfriend. DJ Malik is the only one still involved in music but he reminisces about the groups former hey-day. When the group reunites...

I profiled writer/director/actor Darien Sills-Evans on this blog previously (read that post Here). At the time, he was touring film festivals with this film, Rivers Wash Over Me – a project he wrote and co-stars in, but didn’t direct. John G Young helmed the production.
Now a property of Strand Releasing, the film is now available on DVD.
Synopsis: After his mother dies, a gay NYC teen faces devastating challenges when he’s sent to live with family in the South. Racial and sexual politics take their toll on a family, and ultimately a community, in this unique and powerful drama about coming to terms with oneself against terrible odds.
The film had its world premiere at Newfest, in May 2009, and later played at Frameline, Outfest (where its star, Derrick L. Middleton, won the Grand Jury Award for Outstanding Actor), Miami Lgbt festival, and was, in January of...
