Mr-9: Do or Die is based on the first of a long-running series of mostly ghost-written novels chronicling the adventures of Masud Rana, Bangladesh’s answer to James Bond. Somewhat surprisingly given there are 500 or so novels in the franchise, this is only the second attempt at bringing them to the screen, the first being Masud Rana in 1974. Fifty years later, will the world be more receptive to the Bangladeshi Bond?
The film certainly starts on a familiar note with Rana running unnoticed across wide open lawns in broad daylight without being noticed. Despite his best efforts and his leaving a trail of bodies behind him, his target gets away and the two agents he was supposed to rescued are killed.

Match #1: X-Division Championship – Mustafa Ali def. Chris Sabin The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:

Sabin attacks Ali’s personal security before the opening bell. Sabin dives through the ropes, taking out Ali at the bottom of the ramp. Sabin bends the rules, pulling the hair of Ali. Moments later, Ali creates an opening to gain control off a rolling neckbreaker. Ali spikes him with a short Ddt for two. Sabin avoids the 450 Splash, allowing him to regain his composure. Sabin hits a tornado Ddt out of the corner. Both men are down after exchanging superkicks. Sabin catches Ali...

Everett Grant has beef with Russian mobster Maxim Vasiliiv played by Oleg Prudius or if you’re a pro wrestling fan, Vladimir Kozlov. It seems Everett’s security company has been cutting into the Russian mob’s profits and they’re not happy about that. Since Phoenix is an action film, they decide to settle it with a fight to the death. That would be Everett’s death via a bullet to the head made to look like suicide.
WWE wrestler Natalie Eva Marie plays Everett’s daughter Fiona, Phoenix to her friends. She’s told of his death by General Shackleton. She knows he would never have killed himself and decides to put her hand-to-hand combat trainer’s skills to work finding answers.

The landscape of professional wrestling is covered with performers who at one time or another in their career were billed as “unbeatable monsters.” (Think Goldberg, Ryback, Vladimir Kozlov or even the Great Khali.) The undefeated streak and dominant heel gimmicks are two mainstays in our favorite so-called sport, though they are done to varying degrees of success. Goldberg is probably the gold standard for this type of gimmick, while someone like a Kozlov or Brodus Clay are at the other end of the spectrum.
Ending such a gimmick is a touchy issue – the promotion has spent months building up a star, and usually there is no end game laid out. But when they finally are beaten, it should mean something. In a lot of cases, the dominant phase ends unceremoniously, such as the way WWE booked itself into a corner with Ryback, and he went from being one...

The WWE World Heavyweight Championship is one of the most historic titles in pro wrestling history.
After splitting off from the Nwa World Heavyweight Championship in 1963, the esteemed belt has been in use for over half a century. During that time, we’ve witnessed some mightily impressive reigns.
Cm Punk recently enjoyed a 434-day reign as the champ, while Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan, Bob Backlund and Pedro Morales have each managed to hold onto the strap for over 1,000 consecutive days. And of course Bruno Sammartino, one of the industry’s pioneering figures, officially donned the belt for an astonishing 2,803 days.
But what about the guys at the other end of the scale?
For every Sammartino, there’s an unfortunate victim of an ill-timed Money in the Bank cash-in. And despite their brevity, it’s arguable that these short-lived reigns are just as memorable as the more enduring ones.

A lot of people have been talking about Benjamin Morris’ 538 piece, “Are Pro Wrestlers Dying at an Unusual Rate?”
Like Morris, I am neither an actuarial scientist nor a demographer. So, our interpretations of the data should be taken with a grain of salt. My results were somewhat different from Morris’ due to a difference data set and changes in how we calculated actuarial predictions.

I also used Social Security Actuarial Life Tables, but my “expected mortality rates” for the age groups were not the same as Morris’. For each wrestler, I calculated what their age would have been as of today. His analysis looked at wrestlers who were on 20+ WWF PPVs through 2002. I went with a...

WrestleMania is historically the culmination of the WWE season. Storylines, feuds, and championship reigns come to an end, as new title-holders take their new belts to TV, preparing for their next challenger. Old faces take a leave of absence, and new faces take their place. Sometimes that new face is a brand-new wrestler, one the WWE audience may have never seen. Sometimes they’re a returning wrestler, debuting a new character, name, and/or attitude. Sometimes they’re a surprise, and sometimes the WWE Universe is chanting their name before they ever hit the ring.
Most of the debuts happen on the WWE’s flagship show Raw; during the brand-split, Smackdown was home to at least one humongous debut.
Who made the Top 10? Here they are, the Top Debuts and Returns in Post-WrestleMania History.

Since his WWE main roster debut at the Royal Rumble, Alexander Rusev has been featured prominently on Raw and Smackdown, although he’s yet to wrestle a match on those shows. WWE aired promo videos for several weeks with Rusev, along with manager Lana, cutting promos in foreign languages. That’s pro wrestling. Not speaking in English usually means evil, so that’s what the Bulgarian monster Rusev is. If you’re wondering about Lana, she’s actually an American named Catherine Joy Perry that used to live in Latvia when she was a child.
A new report from PWInsider suggests that Rusev’s first match was expected to take place on the Raw after WrestleMania 30 although there has been some talk that he could have a match at WrestleMania 30. If they choose to do a singles match, they better set up a feud with some babyface soon...

So, you might be familiar with Nxt, the development show for WWE that runs weekly television shows from FullSailUniversity in Florida. The talent down there is currently very good and features a wide array of styles and appearances from its roster. I write the weekly Nxt reviews, here on Nerdly, and with the year now in its final quarter I thought it might be a good time to review the development roster that appears on the Nxt show, and give grades and remarks regarding certain talents.
I will grade each of the following with anything from an A+ down to a F. I’ll explain what each grade means below.
A+ – Beyond ready for the main roster, should be on Raw or Smackdown, now!
A – Ready for the main roster, as soon as possible.
B – Could easily transfer to the main roster, but might need a little work.

On last night’s WWE Raw SuperShow from Boston, a new United States Champion was crowned!
In the first match of the night Santino Marella continued the biggest push of his career when he defeated Jack Swagger to become the new WWE United States Champion.
This is Santino’s third major title in the WWE having won the WWE Intercontinental Title on two occasions and the WWE Tag Team Championship once with Vladimir Kozlov. Though the title change seems more to further the Team Laurinaitis vs Team Long feud that is heading into WrestleMania’s multi-man tag match than it has with rewarding Marella for his last few weeks of getting over to a new level.
Poor Jack Swagger though, I’m not sure what he has done but he must have pissed somebody off backstage. Swagger has had such a quiet run as Us Champion since he defeated Zack Ryder...

Despite being killed off as a series when Chairman Vince McMahon announced that WWE would drop the Survivor Series name and rebrand the event in last February, November saw the explosive return of the PPV spectacular, and that show is now available to buy on DVD and Blu-ray.
With a card boasting the collected talents of Kane, Randy Orton, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Big Show and Alberto Del Rio, the star quality is certainly there, but the question is: how does an event cope with being so cruelly undermined by the man pulling the power strings?
This year’s event was undoubtedly headlined, both in billing and in intrigue by the face-off between Randy Orton and former Nexus leader, and one of few resident Brits on the WWE rosta, Wade Barrett, with the added interest of the outcome supposedly deciding John Cena’s fate as a WWE employee.

Tucson and Phoenix: Prepare to be rocked, shocked and defiled. Blasting its way into its third — and biggest — year on Sept. 18-25, the Arizona Underground Film Festival is a cacophonous concoction of angry transsexuals, bumbling hit men, slacker superheroes, living dolls, aliens, dead hookers, adventure-seeking blondes and other crazies.
This year the fest is screening 30 feature films, some of which are making their U.S. and even world debuts. The opening night film is the U.S. premiere of the German hit man comedy Snowman’s Land, directed by Tomasz Thomson, while closing the fest is the controversial and violent A Serbian Film by Srdjan Spasojevic, which you have to be over-18 to get into.
Don’t worry, there’s plenty of homebrewed films as well, such as Dead Hooker in a Trunk by Jen Soska & Sylvia Soska; Nude Nuns With Big Guns by Joseph Guzman; 1,001 Ways to Enjoy the...

Vince McMahon knows no bounds. WWE delivered some big surprises during Sunday’s No Way Out pay-per-view event. I thought there was a chance that one of the World Titles would change hands in the Elimination Chamber match, but I don’t think anyone predicted that two new champions would emerge. Furthermore, anyone who claims they predicted that Edge would capture the World Hvt. Championship on Sunday is either lying or is a descendent of Nostradamus. Triple H wins the WWE Title in the Smackdown version of the Elimination Chamber match: This match actually opened the show. As if that wasn’t odd enough, Jeff Hardy pinned Edge less than five minutes, which guaranteed that a new WWE Champion would be crowned. Vladimir Kozlov and Big Show were eventually eliminated, leaving WWE’s top three babyfaces Hardy, Taker, and Triple H to battle it out for the briefly vacant WWE Title.
