Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio have been locked in to reprise the roles of hero Matt Murdock / Daredevil and villain Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, characters they originally played on the Marvel-inspired Netflix series Daredevil, on the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again ever since Marvel and Disney+ started pushing the show forward. When their supporting cast was being assembled at the end of 2022, it was announced that Sandrine Holt (American Gigolo) had signed on to appear on the show as a love interest to the Fisk – with the word being that she was taking over the role of his wife Vanessa Marianna Fisk, who had previously been played by Ayelet Zurer on the Netflix show. Apparently there had been scheduling issues with Zurer, who said she was “sad to not take part” in the new series… which, at the time, wasn’t meant to line up with the Netflix show perfectly. A few weeks back, they released the trailer for the highly awaited ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’, giving us a glimpse of the setting and characters. Though the plot remains largely unknown, fans are thrilled that it’s set in the High Republic Era, a first for live-action.
Despite this unique backdrop, ‘The Acolyte’ is the second show to explore this era, following ‘Young Jedi Adventures’, which recently concluded. Judging from Headland’s comments, ‘Acolyte’ promises to be different from what we anticipate. She described it as a mix of ‘Frozen’ and ‘Kill Bill’, drawing inspiration from samurai and Wuxia films.
Besides the setting, what really catches attention in the show are its characters. Headland admitted that some characters are original while others, like Vernerstra Rwoh, were lifted straight from the books.
The cast for the upcoming project includes Amandla Stenberg playing Mae, a former padawan turned warrior; Lee Jung-Jae as Sol,...

Did anybody call for a lawyer?
We can barely contain our excitement about the news that Disney+ is bringing back Daredevil in a bid to reignite the character for Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The glimpses of Matt Murdock that we got on Echo and Spiderman: No Way Home were great, but we have missed this tortured, hopeless do-gooder and his heart of gold.
At the risk of sounding like a superfan (guilty), this Marvel nerd has faithfully watched everything that has led up to this moment, hoping for an eventual Daredevil return.
Now that it's actually happening, there's a lot to cover -- let's dive in.
Where Will Daredevil: Born Again Pick Up?
It's been nearly six years since Daredevil Season 3 was released, and it feels like yesterday.
We left the Netflix series feeling pretty satisfied, having most of our questions answered. We got to see a whole...

The Marvel / Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again went into production last year – then when the strikes hit, it underwent a creative overhaul that, according to Vincent D’Onofrio (who plays the villainous Kingpin / Wilson Fisk on the show), has ensured that this new series is now directly connected to the Daredevil series that ran for three seasons on the Netflix streaming service. So not only are D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox (who plays Daredevil / Matt Murdock) back in their roles, but so are Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll as Murdock’s associates Foggy Nelson and Karen Page. Daredevil: Born Again is now back in production, and behind-the-scenes images posted on social media have shown Cox, D’Onofrio, Henson, and Woll on set, along with new cast addition Margarita Levieva as Murdock’s latest love interest, Heather Glenn. Daredevil: Born Again is back in action in New York City, and fans are buzzing with the latest updates. The show had a bit of a shakeup with Dario Scardapane stepping in as the new showrunner, sparking lots of talks about what’s changing and what’s staying. But from what we’ve seen, things are looking good, and the core of the show seems intact.
Charlie Cox is back as Matt Murdock, and recent set photos have thrown a new twist into the mix. He was spotted in a cozy scene with Margarita Levieva, who’s playing Heather Glenn. For those in the loop, Heather’s one of Matt’s old flames from the comic books. This has got everyone talking because Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Karen Page, is also back. Fans are wondering, will Matt and Karen’s spark reignite, or is Heather the new main squeeze?...

In case it wasn't already clear by now, Marvel Studios is doubling down on its connections to the Marvel Netflix universe of streaming shows. Next up on the reunion tour for "Daredevil: Born Again"? The Devil of Hell's Kitchen imposter known as Bullseye, portrayed by Wilson Bethel in season 3 of "Daredevil." The news comes from ComicBook.com, which reports only that he'll make some sort of appearance in the retooled series -- but "it's unclear how extensive his role will be."
Fans will remember that the rather tortured character of Benjamin Poindexter played an integral role in the war against Matt Murdock and Wilson "Kingpin" Fisk in the Netflix series. Season 3 ultimately ended with Bullseye on the wrong end of a fight between the two foes, shattering his spine and left paralyzed. It's unclear exactly how or even if Marvel will incorporate all these prior events into their new series, but...

When Marvel Studios took back the rights to the characters that had previously appeared on the Defenders Netflix shows, hopes were high that we were entering a new age of Marvel entertainment on small screens, more closely connected to the MCU. And for a while, especially in the likes of WandaVision, Loki, She-Hulk and others, that seemed to be the case. But now one of the highest-profile projects, Daredevil: Born Again is on the verge of a big creative overhaul even as shooting had already been underway.
Born Again, which will see the full return of Charlie Cox as lawyer Matt Murdock, who moonlights as the titular superhero vigilante and Vincent D'Onofrio as the villainous Kingpin (after they both appeared in other MCU shows/movies), had been under the creative purview of writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman, with production kicking off in New York this past March before the strikes shut it down.

The Man Without Fear is set to make his return to the Marvel Universe with Daredevil: Born Again. Charlie Cox will be suiting back up (likely in the new yellow color scheme seen in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) as Hell’s Kitchen resident Matt Murdock. Cox will be joined by the former Netflix series cast Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher as well as include Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk. There are also actors in undisclosed roles, including Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan, and Clark Johnson.
One actor whose role in the upcoming Disney+ show used to be undisclosed is Michael Gandolfini. That is until Marvel lowkey revealed who he will be playing. According to Cbr.com, the pilot episode has been listed at the U.S. Copyright Office, and Gandolfini’s role is listed as Daniel Blade.

Steven DeKnight, showrunner on Netflix’s Marvel Daredevil series, calls the upcoming Disney+ series “an old Disney scam” that will keep the Netflix series creatives from getting what is due to them financially.
Written and executive produced by Covert Affairs‘ Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the new installment centers on Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, otherwise known as Matt Murdock, an attorney by day and crimefighter by night. Vince D’Onofrio reprises his role as mob boss Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin.
DeKnight served as the showrunner for the first season of Netflix’s Daredevil, which launched in 2015 and ran for three seasons.
DeKnight was responding to a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) by a grip named Thomas, who is part of the IATSE union that represents film, TV and stage crew workers.
Thomas wrote that the retitling of the series is “a f***ing scam”, designed to reset guild contract terms to Season 1 levels.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is, for a good number of reasons, one of the most anticipated MCU projects at this moment and probably the most anticipated MCU series. We all know that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil debuted in the Netflix original series ‘Daredevil,’ which ran for three seasons and received critical acclaim, with many still considering it one of the best superhero television series ever created. After the series ended and the rights were reverted to Marvel Studios, the fans started an online campaign to bring Cox’s Daredevil back for more.
The last season of Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ was released in 2018, and fans waited three years for the return of Charlie Cox, who returned as Matt Murdock in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and Vincent D’Onofrio, who returned as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in ‘Hawkeye.’

It's been years since we last got a "Star Wars" theatrical feature, and at this point, it is clear that the galaxy far, far away is actually right there in your living room. Whether it's animated shows like "The Bad Batch" and "Tales of the Jedi," or the mega-success of "The Mandalorian" and the creative genius of "Andor," TV has allowed the franchise to experiment with tones and different kinds of stories in ways it was never able to before.
And yet, "Star Wars" is stagnating, particularly when it comes to the Mando-Verse. "The Book of Boba Fett" was an utter disappointment, and the third season of "The Mandalorian" functioned as a mixed bag. Thankfully, "Star Wars" is soon expanding further beyond the Mando-Verse, and there is arguably no other "Star Wars" title as exciting as "The Acolyte," which promises to introduce a new time period and a new kind of "Star Wars" protagonist.

When Daredevil: Born Again comes to Disney+, the 18-episode presentation will reportedly be divided into two parts, with multiple story arcs making up the overall adventure. This rumor hails from industry insider Daniel Richtman, who’s keeping tabs on the Marvel production, which is currently on hold due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Richtman says Marvel plans to break the series into multiple story arcs, with two or three episodes dedicated to each segment.
Additionally, Richtman says Daredevil: Born Again strives for a TV-ma rating, adding to the short list of mature content offered on the service as Disney+ prepares to merge with Hulu in the U.S. This tidbit should please fans of the Man Without Fear after many complaints about the character’s lighter tone in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

The union strike from the Writer’s Guild of America continues, and studios are about to really hit a wall if a strike from the Screen Actor’s Guild goes into effect. However, there are many films and TV shows that are experiencing production delays as Hollywood hopes for an agreement to be met. Some projects barely squeaked by, like James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, but the newest reported projects that have been delayed are the Disney+ revival of the Marvel Studio’s show Daredevil: Born Again and Warner Bros’ HBO The Batman spin-off, Penguin.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that both shows were shut down multiple times due to the strike, and it was decided just to put the productions on hold until the strike ends. Daredevil: Born Again and Penguin‘s shutdown would join other productions like Aziz Ansari’s Good Fortune for Lionsgate. Marvel Cinematic Universe movies...

Sometimes, superheroes just can’t power through a challenging situation. Marvel and Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again and DC/Max collaboration Penguin are shutting down for the duration of the writers strike, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The double shuttering occurs after both series were shut down multiple times due to picketing writers.
Daredevil: Born Again and Penguin are the latest productions to shutter amid the strike, which began May 2 and stopped work on features such as Lionsgate and Aziz Ansari’s Good Fortune. Additionally, two Marvel Studios movies (Thunderbolts and Blade) opted to postpone the start of production as the scripts were not quite ready.
Daredevil: Born Again is an 18-episode series that will return Charlie Cox to the role he initially played for three seasons on Netflix. Vincent D’Onofrio is back as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, while Jon Bernthal returns as Frank Castle/The Punisher. Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva...

There’s never been a better year to be a David Tennant fan – the man’s the very definition of “booked and busy”.
You could have been forgiven for thinking he’d had a pretty unbeatable year back in 2005, when (among other things) he starred in two of that year’s biggest TV and film successes, both beginning his tenure as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who and playing Barty Crouch Jr in Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire.
But almost 20 years later, Tennant’s demand has only continued growing, so much so that these days it’s almost easier to list the blockbuster shows and franchises that don’t involve David Tennant.
Add to that acting roles for Georgia Tennant, his wife, and three of their five children (so far!), and there’s a whole smorgasbord of Tennant talent on offer.
Let’s take a look at what...
