Once upon a time there was a TV show called Community. No, wait, first upon a time there was a TV show called Doctor Who. Then the show Community paid tribute to Doctor Who with a parody version called Inspector Spacetime. Fans liked it so much that they helped in the creation of a web series of Inspector Spacetime. Except NBC and Sony weren’t okay with that, so the series was renamed Untitled Web Series About a Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time. Lasting six short episodes and starring original Inspector Spacetime portrayer Travis Richey, the web series was very popular and also quite acclaimed. So, logically a second season was planned, and it was going to be even bigger. A prequel episode was released last September with newly added cast members Mayim Bialik (Blossom; The Big Bang Theory), as the voice of the Inspector’s telephone-booth time machine, and...

What began as a joke obsession on "Community" first turned into an "Inspector SpaceTime" web series. Now, The Inspector is going big with a feature film, guest-starring Sylvester McCoy of "Doctor Who," "Star Trek" actors and Mayim Bialik.
Yes, this is a real thing.
Instead of a second season to "Untitled Web Series About a Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time," the producers have decided to go with a film, "Untitled Motion Picture About a Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time." This choice came after McCoy (aka, the Seventh Doctor), Bialik ("The Big Bang Theory"), Robert Picardo ("Star Trek: Voyager") and Chase Masterson ("Star Trek: Deep Space Nine") all agreed to be guest stars.
The series/film also stars Travis Richey (The Inspector), Eric Loya and Carrie Keranen.
To prove how serious all of this is, the movie's press release even included a quote from McCoy:...

With the announcement that Star Trek: Voyager’s Robert Picardo was joining then cast of Untitled Web Series second season, Travis Richey has announced that yet another veteran of Star Trek, this time Chase Masterson of Deep Space Nine, will be added to the cast. Masterson’s character is named Annabelle. The video below has both Richey and Masterson talking about the role, the show and how viewers can support this web series.

The web series based off a show within a show making fun of another show is looking for help to complete its return. Untitled Web Series About A Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time creator Travis Richey has launched a Kickstarter campaign through which he is seeking $125,000 to fund a second season of the sci-fi comedy web series. For the uninitiated, Untitled Web Series... is a copyright-safe version of Inspector Spacetime, the very funny Doctor Who parody from Community. The first season of the show, also fueled by a successful Kickstarter campaign, ran for six episodes and racked up several hundred thousand views, thanks in part to Community's incredible popularity on the Internet. The amount Richey is seeking for season 2 is more than six times the budget of season 1, which will allow him to triple the length of the next six episodes and pay his cast and...

It may sound like a cliché, but season two of Untitled Web Series raised the bar on almost everything you can think of and this 90 second look at what’s in store for the Inspector, Piper and Boyish The Extraordinaire (is he evil, is he kind to kitten’s, what’s with the running?) shows what they did with the money they raised. Richey says “Season 2 goes above and beyond Season 1 in every way. Characters are deeper, story is bigger, and the scope is just way scopier. We still had to write for a budget, because we knew we didn’t have a million dollars to spend, but seriously, I’m just bursting knowing what I know about Season 2 and not being able to tell people about it.”

Mayim Bialik (Blossom, The Big Bang Theory) has been cast to voice the Inspector’s time traveling ship the Booth in Travis Richey’s second web-adventure of Inspector Spacetime Untitled Web Series About A Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time. Mayim’s first major role (if you don’t count Pumpkinhead, and believe me I debated that) was in the Bette Midler film Beaches, playing the 11-year-old version of The Divine One, an uncanny similarity only surpassed by Bette’s actual daughter Sophie. Her TV fame came with the series Blossom, which ran for five years. After a number of voice roles in cartoons and video games, she pulled back from Hollywood to (now get this) get her bachelors, and eventually her PhD in neuroscience. And raise two kids. She’s now appearing on The Big Band Theory as Amy Farah Fowler. And clearly, she is awesome. Travis Richey...

Now that is one authentic bit of cosplay!
A couple years back, the NBC TV show Community aired an episode that featured a brief clip of a totally not made up TV series called Inspector Spacetime. A clear spoof of Doctor Who, the clip proved very popular; so much so that the actor who played the Inspector, Travis Richey, decided to launch his own spin-off webseries about the character. The lawyers vetoed that, of course, that he, along with his stalwart friend and co-producer Eric Loya, managed to launch something oddly similar. I caught up with both of them at this year’s Gallifrey One convention in Los Angeles.
Me: Were you into Doctor Who before you landed the role of the Inspector?
Richey: My brothers watched the show on PBS when I was a kid, so I was like five, six years old, watching Tom Baker in the early 1980s.

The final push is on for the creators of Judas Kiss, as their Kickstarter event to purchase the Red camera to be used on The Dark Place and Something Like Summer (and to help other filmmakers) ends on Sunday, March 10.
Judas Kiss was the multi-award winning festival hit of 2011, scoring a few writing awards along with showing the world that former gay porn star Sean Paul Lockhart (Aka Brent Corrigan) was more than the sum of his…parts, so to speak. Now Judas Kiss actors Lockhart and Timo Descamps are reuniting for The Dark Place, along with new cast members Blaise Embry (Weeds), Eduardo Rioseco (Parenthood), Travis Richey (Untitled Web Series) and Allison Lane (Going Down in La La Land).
What they need is the help of many or just a few “heroes” to reach their $25,000 goal. Please go to their Kickstater site and contribute what you can. Because the...

Blue Seraph Productions announced that Travis Richey (Pretty Little Liars) will join the cast of The Dark Place, the mystery-thriller written by Jody Wheeler and to be helmed by Judas Kiss director J.T. Tepnapa.
Richey is famous for his brief turn as Inspector Spacetime -a running gag on the critically underrated NBC comedy series Community- that inspired (after NBC and Sony sort of said, “Yeah, no”) him and writing partner Eric Loya to create Untitled Web Series About A Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time. That web series was a huge success (hailed by USA Today as one of the Best TV on the Web in 2012) and the people that made it are now preparing to begin production on Season Two.
They’re also working on a “prequel” episode that will bridge the gap between season one and two, and you can visit their Kickstarter campaign to learn how you can help.

It looks as if Resident Evil will join Halo, Call of Duty, and Super Mario Bros in the growing list of popular video games that have received a gritty YouTube reboot. The likeabosstvnow channel has released a trailer for Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City, a dark adaptation of the zombie-filled franchise set to release on February 28th. Welcome To Raccoon City will follow three of the series most popular protagonists: Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Jill Valentine. Director Jay Lee has also hinted at an interactive element, imploring viewers to "Watch as three different story lines unfold before you! Better yet…you get to choose who to follow!" If the trailer is any indication, we can expect plenty of dark corridors and shadowy assassins along each path. The series' cast is a laundry list of notable web creators. Travis Richey and Helenna Santos-Levy, both of whom currently appear...

Bent-Con 2012 is now over. And while it was hard work for all the people that made it possible, I can say that what they did was magnificent. It was a delightful weekend filled with panels, movies, costumes and great people. The third annual event was held at the Marriot Convention Center here in Burbank. And while California is known for its sun and warmth, this weekend turned out to be damp and cool, with some rain, some sun, some drizzle, some clouds, some bears, some twinks and some clouds. And some rain, did I mention that?
I’ll be posting a few pictures over the coming days of the event, some cheeky, some cool and some just for the heck of it:
Husbands: The Series stars Sean Hemeon, Brad “Cheeks” Bell (also co-creator and writer) and writer/co-creator Jane Espenson were there to talk, visit, sign and take photographs with fans.

Bent-Con 2012 was held at the Marriot Hotel & Convention Center in Burbank in sunny California. Well, the truth of the matter is that it was a cool, damp weekend here. While it did not rain consistently, the drops fell from the sky in drips and drabs. It also misted, like on a hot day at Disneyland and they turn on the “steamers” to help make sure their guests don’t melt into puddles of goo. But fun was had by all, and here begins the first of a few posts showing what went this past weekend.
The award winning cast and writers of Husbands: The Series graced Bent-Con 2012 will their loveliness. Actors Sean Hemeon, Brad “Cheeks” Bell (who also co-wrote and created the series) and co-writer/creator Jane Espenson talked, took photographs with fans and signed autographs. Given the large number of rabid Community and Doctor Who fans on the Internet, it should come as no surprise that creator Travis Richey's off-brand web series adaptation of Community's Inspector Spacetime running gag was a modest hit. The first episode of the series, officially titled Untitled Web Series About A Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time, has been viewed over 115 thousand times, and the show was well-received throughout its six episode run, which concluded in mid-October. The finale teased viewers about more Uwsaastwcattt, telling us about future episodes that will definitely Not tie up the many loose ends created by the first series (in a clear homage to the original Doctor Who show and its long-running nature). Sure enough, Richey is planning to return with a second season of Inspector Spacetime fun, and while he hasn't worked with NBC to make his work an official web companion,...

Though NBC's "Community" had a tumultuous summer, culminating in creator Dan Harmon's high-profile exit and the introduction of two new showrunners (David Guarascio and Moses Port), we would hate to see backstage drama destroy one of the most original, inventive and outlandish comedies on TV today.
When HuffPost TV spoke to the cast at Comic-Con, they had yet to begin filming, so it was hard to gauge how much impact the creative switch would have on the show as a whole. Now, "Community" is a few episodes into filming its new season and Danny Pudi spoke with HuffPost TV about the direction of the show and how he's feeling about Season 4 as a whole. Thankfully, after speaking to Pudi -- who was refreshingly candid and as hilarious as ever -- there's reason to be optimistic about what the new season has in store and about the cast being as...

All hail the power of fandom. From the moment "Community" first introduced "Inspector Spacetime" (a show-within-the-show parody of "Doctor Who") in the Season 3 premiere, the hilarious exploits of The Inspector and Constable Reggie seemingly struck a chord with the comedy's loyal fanbase just as much as they did with Abed (Danny Pudi) and Troy (Donald Glover) on the show.
"Community" fans are a creative and anarchic bunch (just like the series itself), and much like the astounding -- and playable -- reproduction of the "Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne" game featured in "Digital Estate Planning," the show's enthusiasts soon started developing their own fictional history for the character and his long-running series.
Even Inspector Spacetime himself, actor Travis Richey, got in on the act, and reportedly attempted to produce a webseries based on the character through NBC's official channels, as a kind of Easter Egg for loyal "Community" fans.

In February, we brought the news of a Kickstarter campaign hoping to fund a web series based on Community's riotously funny Doctor Who parody, Inspector Spacetime. Two days later, NBC stepped in and claimed copyright, because they are just the worst. But even a cease and desist couldn't stop rabid Community fan Travis Richey, who pushed forward with his campaign and has now released the first part of his series under the name Untitled Web Series About a Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time. When asked why we can't call the show Inspector Spacetime, Richey simply responded, "You can. I can't."

I got a chance to meet him again several months later when he came to a reading for two scripts my friends were getting ready to produce as films in the coming months, Something Like Summer and The Dark Place, both to be helmed by Judas Kiss director J.T. Inspector Spacetime is a self-paradoxical anomaly, which makes perfect sense. It’s only existed for a few months, but has also apparently been on television for nearly fifty years. Actor Travis Richey has played him for all of that time, for a grand total of less than two minutes of footage, and yet 11 actors have played the role, including Stephen Fry and Christopher Lee. As Travis explains it, “The best part is, Nothing is canon, and Everything is canon”.
After the character made its debut as a brief Doctor Who parody on NBC’s Community, the Internet got right to work fleshing out his history and adventures. A Tumblr feed was quickly created to serve as the main repository of the work, and photos from past episodes were quickly “discovered” and shared.

Who knew when NBC’s cult favorite Community began a recurring joke about a legendary TV series called Inspector Spacetime, which was a parody of the long-running BBC series Doctor Who, it would spawn its own cult following?
Actor/writer Travis Richey, who recurred on the Peacock Network’s show as the Inspector, clearly saw potential in expanding the concept (along with a host of other people, who created an entire history of the show via online bulletin boards, Tumblr, and a TVTropes page), so he and his writing partner Eric Loya decided to write a 6-epsiode web series called Inspector Spacetime and offered it up to NBC. But when the network gave no response to their pitch, they turned to Kickstarter.com to get fans to help fund a non-profit production.

Are you a fan of NBC’s self-aware sitcom Community? Were you ecstatic when you found out Travis Richey was going to create a web series based on the snippet of a Doctor Who spoof Britta (Gillian Jacobs) showed to Abed (Danny Pudi) that cheered him up when nothing else would? Were you a little disappointed with NBC when they cease and desisted the Inspector Spacetime web series, even though the network was simply protecting its intellectual property? If you answered yes to any and/or all of the above, NBC has an online, animated Community companion program just for you. Abed’s Master Key is a three-part cartoon web series set to debut Wednesday, March 7, eight days before Community will make its broadcast return from a network-imposed hiatus. The animated action will focus on Abed, who is the only individual to respond to Dean Pelton’s (Academy Award-winner and...

Travis Richey simply wanted to honor a piece of an NBC show that, in turn, was honoring a piece of a BBC show. But while parody and satire may be protected from copyright laws, raising money to fund it isn't. And Richey had to learn that the hard way. Richey, who produced other Web series like "Robot, Ninja & Gay Guy" and "2 Hot Guys in a Shower," had decided he wanted to create a Web series on the "Doctor Who" spoof "Inspector Spacetime," according to DoorQ. Spacetime was a character created for the NBC comedy "Community," as a way to spoof "Doctor Who" without exactly mentioning it. Although the character would pop up from time-to-time on "Community," its overall story had never really been fleshed out before, and Richey wanted to be the online filmmaker who did it. He took his ...

Doing what even the Blorgons, couldn’t, the lawyers at Sony Pictures have forced the Eleventh Inspector to retreat — but only for the moment. They’ve halted actor Travis Richey’s plan for making a fan driven webseries of Community‘s affectionate Doctor Who spoof Inspector Spacetime – but only one incarnation of it.
Richey, producer of hit webseries Robot, Ninja & Gay Guy and 2 Hot Guys in the Shower and the actor who brought the last of the Infinity Knights to life on several episodes of NBC’s popular show, recently announced his intent to bring a fan lead version of the show to the web. He created a Kickstarter page for the project and made an appearance at the annual Doctor Who convention, Gallifrey One, that included the cast of the upcoming series was very well received.
All that changed yesterday, with a call from Sony. “They told both me...

You know that clip of a Doctor Who spoof that aired on NBC’s Community called Inspector Spacetime that’s going to get its own web series if enough people contribute to its Kickstarter campaign and the show’s creator, Travis Richey meets or exceeds his $20,000 fundraising goal? Well, there’s still going to be a Doctor Who spoof created by Travis Richey that will get its own web series if enough people contribute to its Kickstarter campaign, except it won’t be called Inspector Spacetime. Like major multi-million dollar entertainment companies are apt to do (and sometimes regret doing) when fans borrow their intellectual property to create fan made entertainment properties of their own, Sony and NBC both recently contacted Richey demanding he cease and desist production on Inspector Spacetime. So, Richey is cease and desisting production on Inspector Spacetime and starting production on the exact same project with...

Good news for Community fans this month! Not only did Community announce that it’s coming back on March 15th, but the show’s Doctor Who-inspired parody, Inspector Spacetime, is being turned into a web series. In case you’re not a Community connoisseur, this season’s first episode followed a story line of Britta (Gillian Jacobs) trying to cheer up Abed (Danny Pudi) by introducing him to new television shows. In a last desperate attempt, Britta shows him “a long-running British Scif-Fi show that’s been on the air since 1962.” Like a true geek, Abed declares the show as the best thing he’s seen in his life and becomes obsessed. Later in the season, Community closed an episode with Abed and Troy (Donald Glover) debating over the show’s “science” and dressing up like Inspector Spacetime and the Constable. Like many of Troy and Abed’s skits and pranks,...

Short of complaining every time there is news related to Community that doesn’t announce an official return date, or relentlessly using #sixseasonsandamovie hashtags on everything you tweet, there’s little that you, the Internet people, can do to play a part in determining the show’s still-hazy future. But you can play a crucial role in determining the future of its show within a show: Travis Richey, star of the Doctor Who-parodying Inspector Spacetime, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a six-episode Inspector Spacetime web series, which would flesh out the fleetingly glimpsed fake show that, actually ...

Siv-Art Productions has wrapped up the first season of its landmark 12-episode web series, Robot, Ninja & Gay Guy. “I couldn't be happier with the way Robot, Ninja & Gay Guy ended,” said head writer Eric Loya. “The fan response has been amazing, and I can't wait to show them what we have in store for Season Two.”
Bringing back characters from the season’s run, the finale sets the stage for a Season Two that seeks to raise the stakes in the small shared apartment. One of two cliffhangers warns of an apocalypse that would occur should Gay Guy and Robot become friends, and Ninja is tasked by an ethereal group of omniscient beings with making sure that such a bond never forms.
Exciting developments in the newly formed relationship between Gay Guy and his adorable, comic-loving boyfriend Ethan and the possibility of further insights into the life of nosey neighbor Mr.
