The boys of Wallows promised arena rock on their new album Model — and they are sticking to their word. On Monday, the alt-rock band announced tour dates in the United States and Europe for their upcoming Model World Tour, which includes stops at NYC’s Madison Square Garden and LA’s Kia Forum.
“I can confidently say this is the first time that I’m really anticipating a tour announcement,” Dylan Minnette told Variety as they announced their tour dates, which include stops in Las Vegas, Boston, and San Diego.

Within the reality of the Scream films, the murders committed by various maniacs wearing Ghostface costumes have inspired a franchise of movies called Stab – and in Scream (2022), we saw a glimpse of a moment in Stab 8 that showed a different sort of Ghostface. This one worn a metallic mask, had short sleeves on their costume, and was blasting away at someone with a flamethrower. Now the collectible makers at Neca have taken to social media to reveal that their latest Ghostface action figure is inspired by that moment in Scream (2022) / Stab 8! This thing is called the Ultimate Ghostface Inferno action figure, and you can see images of it at the bottom of this article.

It was only a matter of time before somebody came out with a trippy, blood-soaked Tricentennial slasher movie with a masked killer in a white wig, toting a gavel for a weapon. And during an election year no less. There will be disorder in this court, and you will love it. Welcome to Founders Day, the offbeat horror comedy from Bloomquist Brothers Erik and Carson, the filmmakers who brought us She Came from the Woods and Night at the Eagle Inn through their Mainframe Pictures.
The daring political slasher revolves around the small town of Fairwood, which is shaken by a series of gruesome killings during a Founders Day weekend celebration prior to a pivotal mayoral election. Accusations abound, and the threat of a masked killer has everybody on edge as the residents rush to uncover the truth.

Scream 2022 follows the original film by having two Ghostface killers, but only a few kills definitively show which killer is responsible. The new generation of the cast includes Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, while Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courteney Cox reprise their roles. The shocking reveal at the end of Scream 2022 shows that the killers are Tara's friend Amber and Sam's boyfriend Richie, who were motivated by continuing the Stab franchise.

Bringing back beloved legacy characters in a movie franchise reboot can either reinvigorate interest or disappoint fans and taint the source material forever. Franchise reboots often introduce an entirely new cast of characters, but sometimes, bringing back fan favorites can remind audiences of what made the original films great. A successful franchise reboot reintroduces a character in a way that gives them new life while keeping their original characterization intact, pleasing both old and new fans.
Rebooting a movie franchise is always a risk, but bringing back beloved legacy characters can help it pay off. Successful revivals can reinvigorate interest in a popular franchise from decades earlier, or it can disappoint fans and taint the source material forever. Often, franchise reboots will introduce an entirely new cast of characters to distinguish the reboot from the original series.
Other times, franchise reboots will bring back characters that were fan favorites in the original movies.

Austin Butler, known for his transformative roles, could bring depth to the character of Chris Shiherlis, showing a man ensnared by his circumstances yet striving for more. Paul Mescal's raw vulnerability and deep introspection, showcased in his role in Normal People, would offer a unique perspective into Chris's internal struggles during his early days. Dylan Minnette's blend of vulnerability and intensity, seen in his role in 13 Reasons Why, could capture a young Chris Shiherlis, portraying a man in the early stages of his criminal endeavors.

A real-life ER doctor criticized the medical accuracy of a death scene in the movie Scream (2022), pointing out unrealistic elements like the angle of the knife and the color of the blood. The doctor specifically mentioned that the blood coming out of the victim's mouth didn't make sense since the blade was not close to any oral or respiratory structures. The doctor expressed disappointment and suggested that the movie could have consulted medical professionals to ensure more realistic portrayals of injuries.

R. L. Stine’s spine-chilling “Goosebumps” book series holds a great deal of nostalgia and memorable spooks for ’90s kids and beyond, including executive producers Pavun Shetty and Conor Welch, who were determined to “elevate” the beloved novels with modern stories for a new generation through the new Disney+ and Hulu series.
“Connor and I grew up on the ‘Goosebumps’ books, and now that we’re adults, kids are reading them for the first time. While we’re looking back with a sense of nostalgia, they’re getting scared for the first time,” Shetty told TheWrap ahead of the series’ Friday the 13th premiere. “We knew we wanted to do something with these iconic stories and do an elevated take on them.”
With established fans and newcomers bringing distinct perspectives on the same material, the “Goosebumps” team — led by filmmakers and creators Rob Letterman and Nicholas Stoller — aimed to harness...

The 2023 Goosebumps reboot features a mix of familiar faces and relatively unknown actors as its main characters. Justin Long, known for comedic roles, plays the strange and unhinged Mr. Bratt, who is possessed by the ghost of Harold Biddle. Rachael Harris, a comedy veteran, takes on the role of Nora, a guilt-ridden mother, while Rob Huebel plays the understanding guidance counselor, Colin.
While 2023’s Goosebumps reboot features a couple of familiar faces, some of the show’s main characters are played by relatively unknown cast members. The Goosebumps franchise began as a series of successful children’s horror novels in the ‘90s. The success of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps books inevitably spawned a TV adaptation, and that show became a starting point for future stars. Ryan Gosling famously appeared in an episode of Goosebumps long before he was famous. 2015 also saw the arrival of a live-action Goosebumps movie starring Dylan Minnette,...

It’s been more than 13 years since Diablo Cody dared to sick “Jennifer’s Body” on the movie-going masses.
“We were rehearsing earlier today and I was listening to this script and I was just thinking, ‘I can’t get over this crazy fucking screenplay,'” director Karyn Kusama gushed of her and Cody’s bubblegrunge slasher comedy from 2009, while on stage at The Wallis in Los Angeles.
The two halves of the “Jennifer’s Body” team appeared together Tuesday night as part of Film Independent’s Live Read Series. The nonprofit arts organization behind the Spirit Awards, in partnership here with streaming service Mubi, sometimes puts on staged interpretations of beloved film scripts: typically asking one auteur to freshly interpret the work of another.
But to Kusama and Cody, the feature-length live performance presented an opportunity to revisit their own maddeningly misunderstood bit of demonic possession canon. Having barely broken even at the box office,...

The surprising origin of Scream 6's most subtle reference to Wes Craven has been explained by the film's co-director. Craven is the director who helmed the first four entries in the franchise, from 1996's Scream through 2011's Scream 4. Scream 4 was the director's final film, as he passed away in 2015. Seven years after he passed away, the franchise was resurrected in Scream 2022, which saw Radio Silence directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett take the directorial reins, a behind-the-scenes role they reprised for Scream 6, which is now in theaters.
Dread Central recently sat down for an interview with the filmmakers behind the slasher sequel to celebrate the opening weekend of Scream 6. They were asked about the fact that the bodega in the film was called Abe's Snake, a reference to the pseudonym Abe Snake, which Craven used when he directed adult films in the 1970s. 2022's "Scream 5" reinvigorated the horror franchise, which seemed to have ended with "Scream 4" in 2011. It was no small task, especially considering its legendary original director, Wes Craven, died in 2015. Its new directors, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett - the duo behind production company Radio Silence who made "Ready or Not" in 2019 - have openly expressed their love and loyalty to the Scream franchise, so while the new Scream films do explore new aspects of the horror genre to fit the 21st century, you can be sure they still have plenty of connections to the original films that fans will recognize almost immediately.

This post contains minor spoilers for "Scream VI."
The "Scream" franchise has moved beyond its original director Wes Craven, who sadly passed away in 2015 (leaving the horror guru's final feature film as 2011's "Scream 4"). However, that doesn't mean the new stewards of the series, directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (collectively known as Radio Silence), are looking to forget him.
Quite the contrary; in 2022's "Scream" there is a scene that features a party honoring one of the victims of Ghostface, Wes Hicks (Dylan Minnette). In slyly clever fashion, the party allows the film and filmmakers to stage a tribute to Craven on a meta referential level, with the banner "For Wes" doubling as a dedication to the departed director.
The latest installment, "Scream VI," heavily features the series' new cast of characters and moves the action to New York City, yet the references to Craven are far from finished.

Half a dozen movies in, and the bloodletting hasn’t eased up — or gotten less popular. “Scream VI,” the latest installment in the long-running horror series, looks to slash its way to new opening weekend heights at the box office. Paramount is releasing the film in 3,670 North American theaters on Friday.
Based on early estimates, “Scream VI” is projected to debut to at least $35 million and as much as $40 million over the weekend. As of now, 2000’s “Scream 3” remains the franchise’s top opener with $34 million.
Records aside, the newest entry is expected to improve upon the start of last year’s hit “Scream” (not to be confused with 1996’s “Scream”), which scored a solid $30 million debut in January. By bringing back franchise stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette — and adding in newcomers Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega and Dylan Minnette — to the quiet town of Woodsboro, 2022’s...

What’s your favorite scary movie?
That is the question that kicked off the iconic “Scream” franchise way back in 1996. And the franchise is back, 11 years after the last installment (“Scream 4”) hit theaters. Yet again the sleepy town of Woodsboro is interrupted by a killer wearing a Ghostface mask, who is drawn to not only scary movies but folks who have a connection to the real-life murders that started it all.
What makes this new “Scream” unique is that it is the first to be produced since the death of filmmaker Wes Craven in 2015 at the age of 76. Instead, this installment is being overseen by the Radio Silence team of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and producer Chad Villella, who were responsible for 2019’s sleeper horror hit “Ready or Not.”
But how can you actually watch the latest entry in the celebrated horror series? And what else should you know about this new “Scream?...

Following a ground-breaking opening weekend with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, devoted Marvel fans are looking ahead to the McU's next projects. The trailer for Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania was released at the end of October, giving audiences a first look at Kathryn Newton as Cassie and the rest of the gang. Newton is known for her recurring role on Supernatural, as are several other MCU actors.

Katherine Langford is setting her TV return with Starz‘s upcoming drama series The Venery of Samantha Bird. The 13 Reasons Why and Knives Out actress will take on the lead role in the eight-episode series created by Anna Moriarty, who is executive producing alongside showrunner Salvatore Stabile and Jessica Rhoades. Rachel Polan is attached as a co-executive producer, and Jessica Yu is serving as a consulting producer. Langford with Dylan Minnette in 13 Reasons Why (Credit: Netflix) The newly-greenlit title centers around Samantha Bird, a woman visiting family in New England who reconnects with her childhood sweetheart and falls headlong into a seemingly perfect storybook romance. Underneath it all, though, lurks an unsettling interpretation of this affair as The Venery of Samantha Bird is described as a haunting portrayal of addictive love and the repercussions a relationship has on families. “The Venery of Samantha Bird is the perfect complement to our slate of provocative,...

Best Limited/Movie Directing Emmy 2022: Mike White (‘The White Lotus’) vs. Danny Strong (‘Dopesick’)
At this year’s Emmys, the programs nominated for Best Limited/Movie Directing are similar to the corresponding writing category with “Impeachment: American Crime Story” being replaced by a second episode of “The Dropout.” Just like writing, this race is once again looking like a fight to see whether Mike White for “The White Lotus” can sustain the momentum after the season airing a year ago, or if Emmy favorite Danny Strong for “Dopesick” can steal his thunder.
Here are Gold Derby’s current Best Limited/Movie Directing Emmy 2022 racetrack odds:

Reigning scream queen Neve Campbell isn’t returning to Woodsboro for “Scream 6.”
Campbell, who plays the perpetually targeted Sidney Prescott in the long-running slasher series, will not be reprising her role in the upcoming installment because she felt “the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise.”
“Sadly, I won’t be making the next ‘Scream ‘film,” Campbell said in a statement to Variety. “As a woman I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to ‘Scream.’ I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise. It’s been a very difficult decision to move on. To all my ‘Scream’ fans, I love you. You’ve always been so incredibly supportive to me. I’m forever grateful...

It’s a gray April morning in a sleepy town outside Boston, and Chadwick Stokes is in the wood-walled studio above his garage, reworking a song he wrote decades ago.
“The General” tells the tale of a Civil War veteran who has a dream that makes him realize the futility of combat. Stokes wrote it for his band, Dispatch, and it originally appeared on the group’s 1997 album Bang Bang. Since then it has become one of the band’s most well-known tracks, a staple of Dispatch shows and big on streaming services.

The meta-slasher franchise is back, after an absence of 11 years, with new directors, new writers and a fresh-faced teen cast, alongside returning “legacy” cast members Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette. Happily, co-directors Matt Bettinellli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett understand exactly what’s expected of a Scream movie and deliver accordingly.
The plot is basically the same as it is in every Scream movie. A new killer is donning the Ghostface mask and slicing up teenagers in Woodsboro, California, perhaps inspired by the series of Stab movies (introduced in Scream 2) that were based on the “real-life events” of Scream. This time round, the killer appears to be focused on Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega) and her...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched “The Dropout” on Hulu.
When crafting the soundtrack for Hulu’s “The Dropout,” music supervisor Maggie Phillips and show creator Elizabeth Meriwether sought out, as Phillips puts it, “songs that scream 2010.”
Set between 2003 and 2018, “The Dropout” chronicles the rise and fall of Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes (Amanda Seyfried), as she goes from founding a medical technology company worth 9 billion to being indicted for fraud. Based on the ABC News podcast of the same name, the limited series has been critically lauded for its writing, acting and music, which incorporates everything from Katy Perry’s “Firework” to Lil Wayne’s “How to Love.”
Phillips, who supervised the show with coordinators Kristen Higuera and Andrew Brady, was drawn to it because she had never worked on a project with music that came out during her adult years.

Spoiler Alert: This piece contains spoilers for “Lizzy,” the finale of “The Dropout,” which premiered April 7 Hulu.
When Elizabeth Meriwether was first planning “The Dropout” — her Hulu adaptation of the popular ABC News podcast of the same name, which chronicled the spectacular rise and precipitous fall of Theranos founder, Elizabeth Holmes — she had an idea about where she wanted the story to end: Burning Man. “It seemed like an interesting place for a kind of quote-unquote rebirth, you know?” Meriwether said.
She could picture Elizabeth, played by Amanda Seyfried, along with her mysterious new boyfriend Billy Evans, as Burners frolicking in the desert without a care in the world. After all, in August 2018, images of the couple at the annual late-summer festival had emerged on social media: In a viral photograph, Holmes can be seen in a T-shirt and fur-collared jacket, wearing hot pink sunglasses and a blissed-out grin. The residents of Woodsboro may never catch a break.
Another “Scream” sequel, from Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media, is in the works on the heels of the recent box office success of “Scream.” (No word on what the sixth “Scream” installment will be titled.)
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are returning to direct the next slasher story, and James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick will co-write the screenplay.
Principal photography is slated to begin this summer. In keeping with “Scream” tradition, plot details are under wraps. But, if we had to guess, it probably involves a killer wearing Ghostface mask who targets the supremely unlucky inhabitants of Woodsboro, Calif.
“We are tremendously grateful to the fans around the world who enthusiastically received our film,” Spyglass and Paramount Pictures said in a statement.
The newest R-rated “Scream” — not to be confused with 1996’s “Scream” — brought back Marley Shelton, Courteney Cox, David Arquette...

A sequel to the latest reboot of “Scream” has officially been greenlit by Paramount and Spyglass.
The directors of the fifth “Scream” film, the team Radio Silence, or Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, will be back to direct, as will script writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Thus far their film has grossed over $100 million at the box office on a budget of around $20 million.
Production is expected to begin in the summer. Plot details are being kept under wraps for what will be the sixth film in the franchise.
No cast for the sequel was unveiled. “Scream” starred Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Kyle Gallner, Jack Quaid, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Sonia Ammar and Mason Gooding, but it also brought back the legacy characters from the original films in the franchise, including Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, all for the film to poke fun at the...

Another weekend, another easy No. 1 spot at the box office for “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” Columbia Pictures’ monster MCU hit is continuing to run circles around its competition, staying atop the domestic box office in its seventh weekend of release.
“No Way Home” is projected to rake in an additional $10.4 million over the weekend, a mere 26% drop from its previous weekend. After being briefly toppled from the No. 1 spot by the opening weekend of Paramount’s “Scream,” the Tom Holland vehicle climbed back to the top of the box office last weekend, showing stronger legs than its horror competitor. Arachnids have eight of them, after all.
With January offering very little in the realm of high profile theatrical releases, “No Way Home” has been left at peace over the past few weeks, remaining the primary draw for theatergoers after the holiday season. After the weekend, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” will...

After one weekend outside of the No. 1 slot, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” could be surging ahead to lead the domestic box office once again. The Marvel entry and the slasher sequel “Scream” are locked in a tight battle this weekend, with “No Way Home” projected just ahead of its competition.
Columbia Pictures is projecting a $13.5 million gross for “Spider-Man: No Way Home” over its sixth weekend at the domestic box office, a soft 30% drop from its previous outing. After practically redefining the rules of the pandemic era box office, the mega-hit MCU entry is finally beginning to wind down its theatrical run. The release should expand its domestic cume to $720.4 million through Sunday. “No Way Home” currently stands as the fourth-highest grossing film in the history of the domestic box office. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ($936 million) and “Avengers: Endgame” ($858 million) are likely out of reach at this point, though...
