There’s no shortage of fans of Showtime’s Dexter series, mainly because it was a brilliant piece of television with a very intriguing and charismatic leading character played perfectly by Michael C. Hall. The original series ended its run after its eighth season in 2013 with a finale that was widely by fans and critics, and that was the reason that the series came back for a single season in 2021 titled Dexter: New Blood but its finale also divided fans. So, if you also miss the series here are some more shows you should watch next.

As seemingly happens to many an English actor of a certain age, it’s now Timothy Spall’s turn to play Father Christmas. Happens to the best of them, and in this case, it’s for a British movie that’s heading to Sky next month. Let’s get down to the basics.
The synopsis for the film in question, The Heist Before Christmas, reads as follows:
Twelve-year-old Mikey Collins, who’s dirt-poor and hates Christmas, finds two Santa Clauses in the woods. One has just robbed a bank and is on the run with the cash, the other Santa claims to have fallen out of his sleigh. Mikey has no time for this second guy – he’s well past believing any of the Jingle Bells, spirit-of-the-season rubbish, even if his little brother Sean...

Timothy Spall has likened 'Harry Potter' to a "religion".The 66-year-old actor played the role of Peter Pettigrew/Wormtail in five movies in the franchise based on J.K. Rowling's novels and is amazed by the appeal that the films still hold for viewers.Speaking to Variety, Timothy said: "'Harry Potter' is such a big deal. It's edging towards becoming a bit of a religion. It's bizarre."It's great storytelling, but it was also beautifully made. One day, I wandered into a studio and there was someone (manually) putting leaves on a tree, one by one. That's dedication. They were doing that for the audience."Timothy's latest role is as Father Christmas in the Yuletide flick 'Joy to the World' and he described it as an "unusual" festive picture. The 'Sixth Commandment' star said: "It's a Christmas story, but an unusual Christmas story."It's about a troubled 12-year-old kid who is pretty obnoxious,...

Los Angeles, Nov 21 (Ians) Singer Sia has reacted to criticism she is facing over the portrayal of autism in her upcoming directorial film, Music, and asked people to watch the film before jumping to conclusions.
The backlash against Sia started after the trailer of the film was unveiled. People expressed anger for her using the term "special abilities" instead of "disabled" for people with autism, and casting a non-autistic actor in the lead role of her directorial debut.
"This is totally unacceptable and there are no excuses. You should know better than to allow able-bodied & neurotypical to represent the disabled community. It's incredibly offensive as is the infantalisation of the character. Sickened. And not even captioned. Don't release this," one user wrote on Twitter.
Sia responded by writing: "I actually tried working with a beautiful young girl non-verbal on the spectrum and she found it unpleasant and stressful. So that's why I cast Maddie.

A war has broken out online between singer-songwriter Sia and the autism community over her upcoming film, Music.
The controversy was sparked by the release of the trailer for the film, which depicts a young woman with autism, played by dancer/actress Maddie Ziegler. The portrayal was deemed “offensive” and “inaccurate’ by the Twitter mob, deteriorating into an insult match and calls from various organizations not to watch the video or the film.
Sia wound up tweeting that she is “so confused” by the negativity toward the movie that she wrote and directed. Earlier, she had a different attitude in announcing the trailer release.
”The news you’ve been waiting for!” Sia tweeted on Thursday morning. She touted the work of Kate Hudson, Leslie Odom Jr. and her longtime collaborator, Ziegler, on the film. Ziegler’s involvement was the spark, as audiences grew upset upon learning that Ziegler was portraying a special needs child.

It’s been two years since audiences last saw Gillian Anderson as the driven and obsessive Stella Gibson, the detective superintendent who’s been after serial killer Paul Spector (played by Jamie Dornan) in BBC Two’s drama “The Fall.” A new teaser trailer for the third installment has just been released and shows Gibson being haunted by the murderer who was last shot at the end of Season 2.
“You’re under arrest, you’re going to prison,” we hear Anderson’s voice say as she’s seen swimming, recalling the words that she last spoke to Spector and what he told her.
“I live at a level of intensity unknown to you and others of your type,” we hear him say. “You will never know the almost God-like power that I feel when that last bit of breath leaves a body. That feeling of complete possession.”

A new preview for BBC crime drama The Fall has been released.
The clip sees the killer, played by Jamie Dornan, approach his next victim.
Gillian Anderson's Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson addresses the task force faced with catching the killer, saying: "In order to do the terrible things that he does, the killer dehumanises his victims. Let's do the opposite. Lets keep them alive."
The Fall will return to BBC Two for its second series on Thursday, November 13.
Series two will focus on the continuing game of cat and mouse between Dornan and Anderson's characters.
The cast and crew of The Fall recently confirmed that it was always the intention to bring back the BBC original drama for a second run, after the first series was left on a cliffhanger.

In acclaimed BBC 2 drama, The Fall, Jamie Dornan proved that just because you’re incredibly good-looking, doesn’t mean you can’t absolutely terrify viewers. While the actor-model has since landed the much-coveted lead in saucy adaptation, Fifty Shades Of Grey, he’ll be back for The Fall‘s second season as serial killer Paul Spector.
Starring opposite Dornan is returning lead, Gillian Anderson, who will reprise her role Superintendant Stella Gibson. Their paths sorta crossed at the end of the first season, when Spector upped his game and began taunting the detective from a safe distance. He narrowly avoided being caught, in one of TV’s most talked about shows of last year.
Now, with this first glimpse at the second season, it seems Gibson’s dogged attempts to uncover his true identity are set to continue. This time around, Spector’s big-headed ego shows no signs of stopping as he targets Gibson personally.

Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan have begun filming series two of The Fall.
Shooting on the new six-part run, written and directed once more by Allan Cubitt, commenced this week in Belfast.
As series two begins, Stella Gibson (Anderson) is on the hunt for fugitive Paul Spector (Dornan) with a personal link from the killer's past revealing new clues.
But the closer Gibson comes to capturing him, the more Spector trespasses into her private world, delighting in taunting and provoking her. As the net gradually tightens around him, Spector becomes psychologically ever more dangerous and destructive.
"I'm over the moon to be back in production with this team again and to step into the shoes of the elusive Stella for what promises to be an even darker second season," Anderson said.
Dornan added: "I'm delighted to be back in production for the second series of The Fall. Allan Cubitt has...

The Fall will reportedly shoot six new episodes in Belfast from late February.
An early 2014 start date for the second series shoot was first confirmed in October last year.
Series two of the crime drama - starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan - will run one episode longer than the five-part first series, claims the Belfast Telegraph.
Dornan has recently been filming the big-screen adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey, in which he plays sadomasochistic billionaire Christian Grey.
Anderson has also been shooting a leading role in forthcoming Us drama Crisis and a recurring part on the returning Hannibal.
The Fall actors Bronagh Waugh, Gerard McCarthy, Niamh McGrady, Archie Panjabi and Emmett Scanlan are all expected to return for series two.
"Without giving anything away, [series two] sounds fantastic," Scanlan told Digital Spy. "There's a high expectation now after the huge success of the first season, but I'm sure it's one that everyone is relishing.

Shortland Street (New Zealand)
This is proof that I can’t be everywhere. I had no idea that New Zealand nighttime soap Shortland Street had a gay couple on the show. I’m not sure on all the details of the storyline, but it seems that Seth came on as part of a hostile hopital takeover. There’s been lots of drama and political maneuvering because of it. Seth's business competitor Sarah knows that he’s gay, and it looks like she's about to out him.
The biggest question I have is: what year is this? I mean, it’s 2013. It’s seems so dated to have Seth staying in the closet and hiding his boyfriend to protect his career. I realize that this does still happen, but Seth is not a professional athlete, a big film star, a politician or anything high-profile like that, so...

I like discovering new shows featuring gay characters, especially when they are as charming and funny as this one. I think what I enjoyed most about this is that there were no coming out dramas, no one struggling with their sexual identity, no one dealing with homophobia or some such thing. I’m so tired of those topics in gay storytelling that I could scream. So it was refreshing to see a show where being gay wasn’t an issue that must be dealt with and that the characters' sexuality really didn’t matter in the context of the story. On the other hand, there was an issue in the storyline that should have been at least discussed because of the characters' sexuality that the writers chose to ignore. But I’ll get to that.
