- Andrew R. Kaplan is an American actor based in Atlanta, GA with over 40 years involved with film, television, and technology. . After starting his early career at Home Box Office and The Movie Channel, Kaplan began his career at an accidental actor in 2008 regularly working on feature films, television, and music videos.
You might catch Kaplan in a music video called Narc's by Lil Baby which now has over 25 million views or as a Lodge member in AMC's Lodge 49. One of the highlights of the past few years was as an auctioneer selling a Cargo Plane to Tom Cruise in American Made. It was cut from the original film but was added back in on the deleted scenes. Kaplan can be seen an indie film called Whitefolks in which this local bootstrapped project made its way onto Amazon Prime in April 2019.
Kaplan's early love for the industry started when he worked for WNBC radio at 30 Rock during the summers in college. During the summer of of 1978, Kaplan was the "N-Car" driver who appeared throughout the NY Metro representing the radio station at concerts and other promotion events and giving out over $100,000 in prizes on air. One highlight was on his last day that summer was Bruce Springsteen's first major concert at Madison Square Garden. After the concert, Kaplan went backstage and presented Springsteen an WNBC radio black satin jacket.
Kaplan grew up in Springfield, NJ outside NYC. He graduated from Dickinson College,Carlisle, PA. and has an MBA from Fordham University.
Prior to his acting career, Kaplan was the founder of a successful sales automation technology company. He also was a director of a non-profit MSMF teaching and advising startups on green business planning. Kaplan was also an early expert in Social Media and produced and hosted the Social Media Motorsports Summit for NASCAR. He also known for his public speaking and was the North Carolina Club President of the Year for Toastmasters International.
