Blondes fall into one of three categories in Hollywood - Hitchcock Blonde, Tarantino Blonde or Marilyn Monroe Blonde. Jean Lupien is a Tarantino Blonde.
She was given an opportunity as a child to go to NY. Pete Rozelle, the former NFL Football Commissioner, saw Jean starring in a musical and invited her to stay with his family and set up meetings for her with Producers all around town. But, Jean was training to be a tennis pro at the time and suffered a very serious injury that forced her to decline the invitation. Immediately following her recovery, Renee Richards took Jean on as her protege (after coaching Martina Navratilova to #1 in the world). But, tennis wasn't what Jean was supposed to be when she grew up. Inexplicably though, she didn't double back and follow her ambitions into entertainment. Jean went into a more conventional line of work. Television. Jean started at TV Guide as a reporter and went on to local TV working in station operations as both an Engineering Manager and Research Director. From there, she was promoted up to a major broadcast network before she realized that wasn't what she was supposed to do either. But, it got her to LA.
To this point, Jean has been best known as the writer/star & producer of "rock&romance" (a musical drama that garnered two Academy Awards Festival births) and the action-filled "The Blonde, The Bully, The Munchkin & The Movie". Based on the critical reception of "rock&romance", Jean turned that short into a TV pilot which got her high level dinners with some of the biggest bigwigs. But, there was a price to pay and Jean wouldn't do it....much to the dismay of her lawyer and advisers. Cut to now, Jean is focusing on writing and producing projects for the film festival circuit.
