The Queen and Paddington Bear have starred in a special short film to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The two and half minute sequence, kept under wraps for several months by Buckingham Palace, BBC Studios and Heyday Films/Studiocanal, was shown tonight on BBC as part of the Jubilee celebrations. Ben Whishaw voices Paddington as he does in the movies.
The film sees Paddington delighted to learn that The Queen shares his love of marmalade sandwiches, with the Monarch opening her iconic handbag to reveal her very own ready-made supply of Paddington’s bread and orange preserve staple inside. As the beloved bear shows Her Majesty what he hides underneath his hat, The Queen confirms “So do I,” before prising open her bag and remarking “I keep mine in here.”
Paddington causes chaos by accidentally depriving the Monarch of another cup of tea and spraying cream from a Chocolate Éclair over a Palace Footman.

In today’s Global Bulletin, the deceasing average of ages in BAFTA TV actress nominees raises ageism concerns; Gary Barlow sets music show at the BBC; Red Productions hires Chloe Dunbar as head of development; the European Audiovisual Observatory and the U.K.’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport announce sustainability conference; “Game of Thrones” prequel finds home at Sky Atlantic; and a Stanley Tucci Italian culinary series will debut in June on CNN International.
An analysis conducted by the Acting Your Age Campaign has found that since 2000, the average age of BAFTA leading TV actresses nominees has reduced from 52 to 32. “The messaging of this downwards age-trend is clear and worrying,” the analysis states. “Gendered ageism is seemingly increasing.”
In 2021 alone, nominees Daisy Edgar-Jones (“Normal People”), Billie Piper (“I Hate Suzie”), Hayley Squires (“Adult Material”), Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”) and Letitia Wright (“Small Axe”) are aged between 22 and...

The X Factor may look a little different this year, with "big changes" being promised as the show attempts to reclaim the ratings crown from Strictly Come Dancing.
The series trailed its BBC One rival by around a million viewers last year, but bosses are keen to reverse that and are now planning numerous changes in an effort to lure fans back.
"The show is 12-years-old, and yes we want to win the ratings," producer Mark Sidaway said while speaking at Mbi's Creative Week event.
Broadcast quotes him as explaining: "We beat Strictly for a few years and now they're beating us. We want to be the biggest show and we need to look at what we want to do and seek to evolve."
Among the "big changes" are a new-look judging panel, with potential replacements for departing Louis Walsh and Mel B said to include Nick Grimshaw and Robbie Williams.

A stage invasion took place during tonight's live X Factor show (November 8).
As Stereo Kicks performed their rendition of Michael Jackson's 'You Are Not Alone', Lee Nelson - the alter-ego of comedian Simon Brodkin - ran onto the stage before being escorted off.
All four judges praised the band for their professionalism during the incident, with Simon Cowell joking that Louis Walsh had added yet another member to the eight-piece group.
Mel B then revealed that Cheryl Fernandez-Versini originally thought the invader was Take That's Mark Owen.
An official spokesperson for The X Factor told Digital Spy: "During Stereo Kicks' performance this evening, there was a brief disturbance on stage, which was immediately dealt with by security. The performance continued as planned."
Nelson ultimately took responsibility for the prank in a series of Twitter messages, writing: "There are so many of them I thought anyone could have a go.
