Has FBI: International found a replacement for Luke Kleintank’s Scott Forrester?
The hit CBS procedural has cast Chicago Med alum Colin Donnell in a guest-starring role.
People first reported the news, but in true Dick Wolf series fashion, details about who Donnell will be playing are being kept firmly under wraps.
We know that the Arrow alum will appear in the final two episodes of FBI: International Season 3.
Kleintank is set to depart before these two episodes, so we don’t think Donnell’s character will be involved in Forrester’s last storyline.
“After much thought and consideration, I’ve made the difficult decision to leave FBI International,” Kleintank said this week.
Will Colin Donnell replace Luke Kleintank?
“This decision is driven by my unwavering commitment to my family, whose love and well-being are paramount in my life. I’m profoundly thankful for the extraordinary cast and crew of the show,...

Former Chicago Med stars Colin Donnell and Brian Tee posed for a selfie on the set of the NBC medical drama, raising a big question for Season 9. We already know that Tee, who played Dr. Ethan Choi on the show, is directing the season’s 11th episode. But why is Donnell there, too? Is Dr. Connor Rhodes reporting for work at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center again? Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like it. Donnell’s return to the Chicago Med set was only social, apparently, with TVLine reporting there aren’t plans to bring Connor back on screen. Tee posted the selfie on Instagram on Saturday, writing, “So I’m directing my [episode] of #ChicagoMed, and guess who made a surprise visit… the @colindonnell. Great to see you old friend. The #Og docs.” Donnell reposted the pic to his Instagram Stories, writing, “The most kismet wonderful happenstance that @brian_tee had...

Stephen Amell’s Arrow is one of the most well-received superhero shows on the CW network that started the whole Arrowverse which included Supergirl, The Flash, etc. The series went on for eight successful seasons and Amell’s Oliver Queen went on a great journey, portraying the character’s shades with great conviction.

The show also had Katie Cassidy, Colin Donnell, David Ramsey, and Colton Haynes in pivotal roles for 7 years over 8 seasons. Haynes particularly had a notably reduced role in the final season of the show. In his new memoir, he states that the reason behind it was due to an alleged feud with one of his castmates.

More often than not, Dick Wolf franchises feel untouchable.
Depending on how well actor negotiations have gone regarding artificial intelligence, it wouldn't be entirely unsurprising if, 20 years from now, we still have an AI-generated rendition of Olivia Benson protecting and advocating for abuse survivors on Law Order: Svu.
There's longevity in the Dick Wolf series, whether it's the Law & Order franchise or One Chicago. And by now, viewers have grown accustomed to a revolving door of beloved characters and actors over the years to sustain the series.
But is there a breaking point to that? Will there ever be a point, at least for the One Chicago series, where too many casting changes and a different formula for screentime for budgetary purposes reach a point of no return?

Jaws actor Richard Dreyfuss recently caught a performance of Broadway’s The Shark Is Broken, the comedy-drama about the making of Steven Spielberg’s 1975 blockbuster. Despite the smile on his face in meet-the-cast photos, he wasn’t very happy.
In an exclusive Vanity Fair interview, Dreyfuss criticizes the play – written by and co-starring Ian Shaw, dead-ringer son of the late Jaws actor Robert Shaw – for what he says are inaccuracies and for making him look like “a big jerk.”
“I went to see it, to see if it really was gonna hurt,” Dreyfuss tells Vf‘s Chris Murphy. “And it did.”
The comedy, based in part on Robert Shaw’s diary, depicts the long-rumored feud between Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw during the film’s hurry-up-and-wait Cape Cod shooting as the the cast – Dreyfuss, Shaw and Roy Scheider – was all but sequestered on the floating Orca set. "You always think, if you're a proud son, that you could talk to your father and you could help ... Well, I never got to that." Playing his late father onstage, Ian Shaw delivers these devastating words in "The Shark Is Broken" with matter-of-fact gruffness. His face also bears the weathered and mustached likeness of his father, the late Robert Shaw, the man who embodied the sea captain, Quint, in the 1975 watershed "Jaws."
The legends of the behind-the-scenes snafus of "Jaws" (adapted from Peter Benchley's novel) wouldn't be complete without Robert Shaw's on-set drunkenness, his documented feud with co-star Richard Dreyfuss, and a scuffle provoked by Dreyfuss tossing his alcohol into the sea (loosely dramatized in this play). With co-writer Joseph Nixon, the younger Shaw took inspiration from his father's drinking diary, family archives, and other "Jaws" sources to pen "The Shark is Broken," a comic meditation on the blockbuster's...

It’s nothing new for a musical to be based on a movie. But in the new comedy “The Shark Is Broken,” which officially opened on Broadway Thursday night, viewers are going back to 1975’s “Jaws” — but not in the way movie fans remember.
“The Shark is Broken” is co-written by and starring Ian Shaw, the son of the late Robert Shaw, who of course played ship captain Quint in the original blockbuster. In the play, Shaw portrays his own father alongside Broadway vet Alex Brightman as Richard Dreyfuss and Colin Donnell as Roy Scheider in a behind-the-scenes comedy based on the infamously difficult movie shoot.
As cinephiles are aware, “Jaws” had a troubled production: shooting on the water proved more difficult than Steven Spielberg imagined, and the mechanical shark (nicknamed “Bruce”) frequently broke down. The 90-minute play imagines several days of the shoot when Dreyfuss, Shaw, and Scheider were stuck on a boat,...

Broadway is having a flashback moment.
Written by Joseph Nixon and Ian Shaw, The Shark is Broken premiered on Broadway Wednesday night, giving the audience a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes drama during the production of Steven Spielberg’s iconic film Jaws.
The play imagines the conversations the three lead actors might have had while the Jaws film crew figure out a way to navigate through bad weather – and a malfunctioning mechanical shark.
It features strong performances by Alex Brightman as Richard Dreyfuss, Colin Donnell as Roy Schneider and Ian Shaw as his father, Robert Shaw, as the main stars.
The Shark is Broken had its premiere at Scotland’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival before moving to London’s West End and then to the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto.
The play was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy Play and a WhatsOnStage Award for Best Video Design.

It’s been three years since Colin Donnell was last seen on Chicago Med, and given Yaya DaCosta just returned as nurse April Sexton (for Brian Tee’s farewell), we can’t help but wonder if we could see another familiar face, specifically Dr. Connor Rhodes, again soon. “I have no idea, to be honest,” Donnell told TV Insider recently while discussing his latest series, Irreverent, on Peacock. “I have not ever heard any news about Connor’s return, but I know that they said the door was always open and he’s somewhere at another hospital doing something.” He continued, “It was a great time over there and it’s been fun to keep up with the news and the comings and goings of the cast and Chicago itself and that show in particular will always hold a special place.” (Irreverent even started with his character, a mediator for the mob,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Irreverent Season 1.] Major Chicago trouble is coming to Clump… if there’s an Irreverent Season 2, that is. However, there’s a new threat heading their way: Antoinette. So what could come next if the series is renewed? TV Insider turned to creator Paddy Macrae for answers. Did you know from the beginning how you wanted to leave the season off with Piper knowing the truth and basically holding Mack’s future in her hands? Paddy Macrae: Not right at the beginning. We had a pretty good idea a fair way into development, and we were working very closely with Peacock on all those scripts, of course, and debating the end forever, which was a lot of fun actually, because there’s a...

Chicago Med’s Colin Donnell goes Down Under — and gets us hot under the collar — in Irreverent, an aptly titled black comedy set in the oddest outskirt of Australia. The Broadway vet and Arrow alum stars as Paulo Keegan, “a negotiator for the mob,” he explains. After a deal goes tragically south, the shady fixer flees Chicago “and winds up in the far north of Queensland, in the very tiny little beach town of Clump, impersonating [Mackenzaie Boyd, played by Pj Byrne], a reverend who is supposed to be the pillar of this community.” A community that, by the way, is filled with misfits even stranger than a man of the cloth who seems to have no concept of good versus evil! But while this rough-edged “Mack” may not be what the weirdos of Clump were expecting, the not-so-saintly newcomer could be a godsend. “He’s surrounded by this ...

It’s been three seasons since Colin Donnell‘s Dr. Connor Rhodes checked out of Chicago Med, and in that time, many other docs and nurses have come and gone through the Windy City hospital. But some have found their back, like Jessy Schram’s Dr. Hannah Asher and Yaya DaCosta’s April Sexton, prompting TVLine to ask showrunners Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider if they’ve ever considered bringing back fan-favorite Connor.
“I don’t think you can ever rule that out,” Frolov told us, adding that the idea has been discussed in the writers’ room. Added Schneider:...

“Stop looking for God to give you something and go take it for yourself,” criminal mediator Paulo Keegan (Colin Donnell) tells Reverend Mackenzie Boyd (Pj Byrne) in the Irreverent trailer above — and that’s part of what leads him to his new life in Australia. Paulo starts out in Chicago working for the mob and to say things don’t go as planned one night would be an understatement. That leads to him fleeing to “the other side of the planet,” and eventually how he ends up posing as a reverend in Clump, Australia, while people from his old life hunt him for what happened. But if he doesn’t get numbers up in the church, it will be shut down, and his fake gig will be over. And if he gets his numbers up, not only may people warm up to him, but maybe he’ll start to like them,...

Colin Donnell is about to take on a very different role than before.
The Chicago Med and Arrow alum will headline Peacock dramedy Irreverent, which is set to premiere November 30.
All 10 episodes will be available on the premiere date.
"A criminal mediator from Chicago is forced to flee his life and everything he knows and hide out in a small Australian reef community in Far North Queensland posing as the new church Reverend," Peacock teases.
"Reverend Mackenzie Boyd (not his real name) has made a mess so bad he can never go home, but he’s going to need all his considerable street smarts to pull off posing as clergy - something he doesn’t know the first thing about."
"If he slips up, he’s dead and, after a lifetime of crime, doing good work is not something that comes naturally."
"But Mack finds himself in a small beach town,...

For the first time in a decade (‘member when Person of Interest used to air at 9?), CBS’ newly released fall schedule features only two sitcoms on Thursday, with Young Sheldon and Ghosts — TV’s top two comedies — leading into the freshman dramedy So Help Me Todd, followed by Season 2 of CSI: Vegas.
The shift was largely dictated by the fact that CBS cancelled United States of Al, B Positive and How We Roll, while greenlighting zero new sitcoms for the 2022-23 season.
