There may be no more natural pairing for CMT Crossroads than Nickelback and Hardy. Both appeal to country and rock audiences, both worked with producer Joey Moi, and both have a song called “Rockstar.” On April 6, they’ll mash up their respective styles — and their “Rockstar” singles — for an episode of CMT’s crossover performance series.
Recorded in Nashville earlier in March, the episode features Hardy and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger trading verses on Nickelback’s “Save Me” and “Animals,” and Hardy hits “Truck Bed” and “Give Heaven Some Hell.

Hardy will spend the early summer months on the road as the Nashville country rocker has announced his “Quit!!” Tour.
In addition to mapping out the trek’s 15 dates, Hardy has also shared a new spoken word track also called “Quit!!” that harkens back to his 2022 ACM Honors speech, during which he related an incident where someone put a note that read “Quit!!” in the then-fledgling singer’s tip jar.

Charlie Worsham has been playing the long game for over a decade, and he’s finally poised to cash in with an all-star duets project he’s calling Compadres. Released this week, the five-song EP features collabs with A-listers Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson, Elle King, Dierks Bentley, and Kip Moore.
But before he was able to create Compadres, Worsham, 38, had to make peace with a now 10-year-old ghost. Back in 2013, the Mississippi native released Rubberband, his major-label Nashville debut. It failed to crack the Top 10 on the country albums chart,...

The Cadillac Three are known for hard-hitting Southern rock and country-funk — “country fuzz,” the trio calls it — but members Jaren Johnston and Neil Mason are looking outside of that box for their new record label. On Thursday, Johnston and Mason announced War Buddha Records, a partnership with Warner Records, and their first signed artist: Rett Madison, a West Virginia singer-songwriter now living and working out of Los Angeles.
Madison, who released the album Pin-Up Daddy in 2021 and recently finished a tour with St. Paul and the Broken Bones, is no stranger to Rolling Stone.

Aside from maybe cold beer and hot wings, or blue jeans and work boots, few things pair as well together as a distorted riff and a sneering lyric. Elvie Shane knows this and wisely uses the one-two punch to announce his new single. Remember the first time you heard Eric Church’s “How ‘Bout You”? “County Roads” hits like that.

So, How Was Your 2020? is a series in which our favorite entertainers answer our questionnaire about the music, culture and memorable moments that shaped their year. We’ll be rolling these pieces out throughout December.
Kip Moore typically spends a big portion of any year on tour, so in 2020 he had to make adjustments and learn to sit still for long stretches of time. Central to that process was BedRock, Moore’s rock-climbing cabin for outdoor explorers in Kentucky’s Red River Gorge, where he stayed in isolation for several months.

Ford Motor Co. and the Walt Disney Co. have made a precedent-setting deal for a “roadblock” across all of Disney’s broadcast, cable, digital and streaming channels in prime time to unveil the new Bronco.
On July 13, starting at 8Pm Et, Ford will introduce the new Bronco lineup across Disney platforms. Three custom, 3-minute films will air on ABC, ESPN and National Geographic, in each network’s first commercial break. All three pieces will be made available on demand on Hulu the next day.
Synergy is certainly nothing new for Disney, and the releases of last year’s Star Wars installment and Frozen II saw a high degree of co-ordination among Disney division. But this is the first time the “road block,” an invention used for decades by marketers, is being mobilized for a product reveal on Disney channels.

At a time when automakers have cut back on ad spending, Ford Motor Co. will rev its marketing engines for a unique commercial alliance with Walt Disney’s video properties.
The large U.S. advertiser intends to unveil its new line of Broncos with short films slated to be broadcast in the first commercial break of the 8 p.m. hour on Monday, July 13 on Disney’s ABC broadcast network and its ESPN and National Geographic cable outlets. The films will subsequently be made available for viewing on Hulu, the company’s ad-supported streaming service, on July 14.
Ad money from large auto companies has been harder to come by in recent weeks. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, automakers are among the marketers paring back their spending. The number of 30-second TV ads from car companies was off by as much as 56% during the weeks of May 4 and May 11, according to Kantar, a tracker of ad spending.

Country duo Muscadine Bloodline released the new song “Enemy” overnight on Friday. It’s the duo’s first new recording since releasing the Movin’ On Ep earlier in 2018.
The “Can’t Tell You No” singers originally shared “Enemy” as part of their “Unreleased” video series, giving a raw, unadorned performance of the song. The new studio version retains that palpable ache, with Charlie Muncaster stepping out front to sing about the demons he’s unable to shake while Gary Stanton offers up a murky, almost indie-rock set of chords on his electric guitar.

Country music videos in 2018 were a mix of the poignant and the empowering, as some clips movingly told end-of-life tales and others glamorously celebrated independence. Others still lampooned the very art of making videos. Here’s the 10 must-watch clips of the year.
John Prine, “Summer’s End”
A woman loses her life to opioids, leaving behind a young daughter and an elderly father. The aftermath is shown in a series of quick vignettes: an emotional breakdown at school; a trip to a fruit orchard; a family visitation at the gravesite.

Last month Kip Moore released the stripped-down Room to Spare: The Acoustic Sessions Ep, a seven-song set that highlighted both his songwriting and the nuances of his gruff voice. The Georgia native launched a four-date mini-tour in support of the project, and has now announced plans to extend the run in 2019.
Moore will play 28 dates, including shows in Canada and the U.K., kicking off the trek March 7th in Chicago. Charlie Worsham and the duo Muscadine Bloodline will open select dates.

Kip Moore gets an assist from fellow singer-songwriter Charlie Worsham on “It Ain’t California,” a rousing new track from the Georgia native’s Room to Spare: The Acoustic Sessions Ep. The new collection, which follows the Moore’s 2017 album Slowheart, arrives November 16th.
Moore had originally started writing “It Ain’t California” some 10 years prior and though he liked what he had done with the chorus, he wasn’t sure the verses were right. Mississippi native Worsham, who became friendly with Moore after they went on tour in 2014, eventually helped him straighten it out.

A new release from a Nineties kingpin, a nod to the traditional from a rising star and some retro-pop from a Lumineer make up the songs you need to hear this week.
Joe Diffie, “Quit You”
Joe Diffie has fallen off the love wagon, unable to resist the pull of an addictive relationship. “I can crush it out, pour it down the drain, give up my vices, curse your name,” he sings, rattling off a number of defenses that, in the end, can’t convince him to quit the one he loves.

Kip Moore will follow up his 2017 full-length album Slowheart with a seven-song Ep that highlights his less bombastic side. Room to Spare: The Acoustic Sessions showcases Moore at his most stripped-down and writing with frequent collaborators Luke Dick and Dan Couch.
Moore co-wrote five songs on the Ep, including two with Charlie Worsham, with whom he’ll launch a mini Midwest tour in November. The Acoustic Sessions kicks off with a new version of the Slowheart standout “Plead the Fifth,” a track that has become a live staple of the...

The nominations for the 2018 Cma Awards were unveiled Tuesday morning and the list of contenders is as unsurprising as a Luke Bryan song going to Number One: men ruled, radio exerted its omnipresent influence and good luck breaking through if your record label doesn’t operate within the traditional Music Row sphere. There were some moments of light — Kacey Musgraves, Chris Stapleton and Dierks Bentley’s albums were all welcome and deserving inclusions, as were Chris Janson’s “Drunk Girl” and anything related to the Brothers Osborne — but a lot of disappointments,...

Rising singer-songwriter Jillian Jacqueline gets the assist from country superstar Keith Urban on a shimmering new song, “If I Were You,” that was released on Friday. It’s the first release from her upcoming Side B Ep, the follow-up to 2017’s Side A.
With Urban’s reverb-drenched guitar cascading all around her, the “Reasons” singer finds herself in the midst of an intense emotional conflict — she’s not ready to move on from the last guy, but she’s falling for someone new in spite of the fact. She bluntly...

It’s barely 11:00 a.m. on the second day of Nashville’s summertime centerpiece, the Cma Music Festival, and Kip Moore is sitting outside of the Hgtv Lodge stage in the blazing June heat, waiting to perform. Moore, who just returned from months of sold-out European and Canadian dates, isn’t exactly used to starting gigs before noon. But as Nissan Stadium looms across the river, waiting for the night’s Cma Fest lineup of radio-friendly all-stars, he’s no less ready: for Moore, a show is a show,...

The age of #Miranderson is over. Country singer Miranda Lambert and R&B musician Anderson East (born Michael Cameron Anderson) have broken up, ending a two-year romance. Following Miranda's divorce from Blake Shelton, it really seemed like she had found the next great love of her life with Anderson. We were even hearing wedding bells! Alas, it was all for naught, apparently. While we mourn their relationship, check out a timeline of its rise and fall. December 2015: Anderson's stepfather Randall Ennis confirms the relationship exclusively to In Touch, saying the lovebirds have been dating "for a couple weeks." "Michael's an awesome kid," he says. "He's got his head on straight and knows what he wants in life. He's just an amazing kid." (Randall couldn't speak so authoritatively on Miranda. "To be honest with you, I don't really follow country music so I really didn't even know who she was," he said.
