It was only appropriate that the 1,000th episode of the NCISverse aired on the Mother Ship.
While NCIS Season 21 Episode 7 didn't live up to all the hype (what could have?), it was still enjoyable and well-constructed.
It also skillfully drew upon NCIS's long history, going back 21 seasons.
The spotlight fell on Rocky Carroll's Director Vance, who has been too close to becoming a recurring character in recent seasons.
The storyline hearkened back to one of Vance's shining emotional moments when his wife Jackie was killed during an assassination attempt on Eli David on NCIS Season 10 Episode 11.
As expected, that event had lasting repercussions on the Vance family.
Kayla followed her father's lead and became an NCIS agent afloat.
Jared, who was closer to Jackie, had been adrift since then, never committing to anything in Leon's mind.
For his part, Jared didn't understand how Leon could stay with a...

Last month, a judge tossed a lawsuit from Elon Musk‘s X (formerly Twitter) against the Center for Countering Digital Hate, an anti-extremism watchdog, that alleged the group had financially harmed the company by reporting on violent and hateful speech proliferating across its platform. The ruling stated in no uncertain terms that Musk and X were trying to punish the Ccdh for exercising First Amendment rights.
Following that court victory, the organization is once again sounding the alarm about X’s lack of sensible moderation, releasing another trove of data...

The 1,000th episode of the NCIS franchise is coming up, and we finally have a full synopsis.
This will be the 1,000th episode across all NCIS shows, including the spin-offs like Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Hawai’i.
It’s a big event for the franchise, and they even celebrated it on the NCIS set with a big cake.
Chris O’Donnell was on hand for that day. He used to play G. Callen on the NCIS: Los Angeles cast and his presence led to rumors about a guest star appearance.
Actor Sean Murray (Agent Timothy McGee) shared a set photo that revealed someone special returning to the NCIS cast. It will be a nice treat, but that’s not the only familiar face we will see on the big night.
Daniela Ruah (Kensi Blye on NCIS: LA) and Vanessa Lachey (Jane Tennant on NCIS: Hawai’i) also appear in Episode 1,000.

No one can say NCIS isn’t a successful TV show. With 20 seasons and counting, it has become downright iconic and spawned multiple spin-offs.
The original series has a proven episodic formula with compelling crimes and intriguing mysteries.
What it doesn’t have much of is happy relationships.
If you are a shipper, be warned. With rare exceptions, long-term romances are doomed on NCIS.
Couples are either teased but never get together, only get together offscreen, or break up far too fast to be satisfying to the fans who root for them.
And if a couple somehow miraculously does end up in a stable, loving relationship, well, the clock is ticking because one of them is likely to die.
So read on as I list the NCIS couples that infuriated, depressed, or simply broke my heart.
Gibbs and Shannon - Death
NCIS started with a tragic love story, albeit mostly offscreen and shown in flashbacks.

This Tuesday’s NCIS Season 17 premiere wasted little time before Gibbs asked Ziva the million-dollar questions: “Where have you been? What happened to you?” Alas, before the “dead” agent could get into that, Gibbs’ basement was riddled with gunfire from outside the windows. After emptying their respective pistols at the unseen shooters and hearing footsteps near the stairs, Gibbs and Ziva reached for assorted workshop supplies and began jerry-rigging an explosive….

We're used to seeing Gibbs as the immovable and dependable rock for the NCIS team. In this episode, though, I believe that honor went to Tony.
In "Shiva," the team was under great pressure to find the mastermind to the shooting deaths of Mossad director Eli David and NCIS Director Vance's wife, Jackie. The possibility of a war loomed large, as Eli's Iranian contact - Arash Kazmi - was implicated.
Eventually, they discovered that Eli's protégé, Mossad Deputy Director Ilan Bodnar, was the murderous traitor behind the deaths.
He knew about Eli's plan to work with Iran and wanted to kill Eli and take over Mossad while implicating Iran in his death.
The writers must be applauded: the story flowed exactly as it should have and there was a richness and depth to almost every scene.
Gone (for the most part) was Tony the comedian and in his place was Tony the rock,...
