Apple TV+ has rounded out the main cast of its upcoming series adaptation of the Mick Herron novel “Down Cemetery Road.”
Adeel Akhtar, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Tom Goodman-Hill, Darren Boyd, Tom Riley, Adam Godley, Sinead Matthews, Ken Nwosu, Fehinti Balogun, and Aiysha Hart have all been cast in the series.
They will appear alongside previously announced leads Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson.
The official description for the series states, “When a house explodes in a quiet Oxford suburb and a girl disappears in the aftermath, neighbor Sarah Tucker (Wilson) becomes obsessed with finding her and enlists the help of private investigator Zoë Boehm (Thompson). In a surprise move, Netflix has renewed the upcoming British spy thriller series Black Doves for a second season. This comes as a shock to us because the six-episode first season hasn't even been released yet. It's set to come out later this year. The streaming giant announced the season 2 renewal at the Edinburgh TV Festival in August 2024.
Black Doves sees the return of Academy Award-nominated actress Keira Knightley to television. She hasn't starred in a TV show since 2011, which was the fantasy miniseries Neverland. She voiced the character of Tinker Bell. Her most recent project was the 2023 true crime film Boston Strangler, in which she played the character Loretta McLaughlin.

Amir Wilson (The Secret Garden), Ruby Serkis and Nathanael Saleh, who plays John Banks in Mary Poppins Returns, lead the young cast of The Letter for the King, the coming-of-age drama series based on Tonke Dragt’s bestselling medieval adventure novel. Johnny English Strikes Back and Paddington 2 star Ben Miller has joined the cast of ITV psychological drama The Man.
Miller will star alongside Christopher Robin and Killing Eve star Ken Nwosu in the three-part bullying drama, which was created by Doctor Foster and Press creator Mike Bartlett.
Also joining the cast are Sean Sagar (Top Boy), Susannah Fielding (Black Mirror), Gwilym Lee (Bohemian Rhapsody), Phoebe Nicholls (Downton Abbey), Ritu Ayra (Humans), Alexandra Roach (Black Mirror), Michael Cochrane (The Archers) and Debbie Chazen (Doctor Who).
This contemporary drama will be directed by Julia Ford (Safe) and produced by Colin Wratten (Killing Eve). It is produced by ITV Studios’ Tall Story Pictures, the production company that recently produced Barlett’s Adrian Lester and John Simm-fronted Trauma.
