While the recent Madame Web introduced Spider-Women in live-action, another Marvel character who has yet to get a live-action depiction is Miles Morales. The character is a fan favorite and has already starred in Sony’s Spider-verse films. In the MCU, the character has been acknowledged, with Donald Glover’s Aaron Davis mentioning him in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
While Miles Morale is yet to be cast in the MCU, Black-ish actor Miles Brown seems to be the perfect fit. The nineteen-year-old actor and rapper has the same first name and has similar Black and Latino parentage. He has been vocal about his dream of playing the character in the MCU and has also met Tom Holland and Kevin Feige on the red carpet for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Did someone order more comedy with a side of fries from Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell? Welcome back to Good Burger! After years of teasing a sequel, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are back for "Good Burger 2." On Aug. 21, Paramount+ dropped the first teaser, and it seems like no time has passed because Ed and Dex are up to their old antics. Then, on Oct. 30, the streamer dropped another full trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, teasing "the new adventures of Ed and Dex."
Per the new clip, it seems the duo's new adventures involve trying to hold onto their jobs as burger-serving robots take over their beloved restaurant that's on its way to becoming a global phenomenon.
Back in March, Jimmy Fallon and his crowd instantly went wild when Thompson and Mitchell revealed the "Good Burger 2" news on "The Tonight Show." "Ladies and gentlemen, Kel has something he would like to tell you," Thompson teased before handing the announcement over to his costar.

"Good Burger" is a rather unlikely success story of '90s kids' entertainment. Back in the '90s, Nickelodeon created a sketch comedy show titled "All That," which was essentially the kids' version of "Saturday Night Live." It ran absurd sketches and launched the careers of many actors like Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, Katrina Johnson, Jack DeSena, Kel Mitchell, and Kenan Thompson — who would go on to become the longest-reigning "SNL" cast member ever.
And just like "SNL," "All That" would see some sketches turn into spin-offs, with the biggest one being "Good Burger." In the sketches, Kenan and Kel starred as Dexter and Ed, two fast food joint workers who get into all sorts of hijinks. The movie was directed by Brian Robbins, who would go on to become president and CEO of Paramount Pictures.

They begin a friendship and Kadir starts to see the potential in his artistic talent. Kino Lorber adds that: "This moving and authentic portrait of the South Bronx announces an exciting new cinematic voice in [director] Aristotle Torres and offers a welcome showcase for beloved character actor Guzman...

In the 1990s, Nickelodeon created a sketch comedy show called "All That," an absurdist half-hour that was the kid's answer to "Saturday Night Live." The series ran for 10 seasons and served as the launchpad for performers like Nick Cannon, Amanda Bynes, Josh Server, Katrina Johnson, Lori Beth Denberg, Danny Tamberelli, Kel Mitchell, and the longest-reigning "SNL" cast member in history, Kenan Thompson. Like the adult series, "All That" birthed a handful of sketches that would get their own spin-offs, none more famous than "Good Burger."
Kenan and Kel starred as Dexter and Ed, getting into hijinks while working at a fast food joint that fans loved so much, they got their own movie. Now, over 25 years later, the classic combo is back with "Good Burger 2." Paramount+ and Nickelodeon Studios released a teaser trailer today, opening with Dexter hit by a car being driven by Ed, one that he's converted into a burger mobile.

“The Graduates,” which counts Chloé Zhao and John Cho among its executive producers and gets its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival, revolves around school shooting survivors who are unable to move on even one year later. It’s a compelling subject, for sure, but one on which no dramatic treatments have been nearly as astute or profound as what’s already been in the news.
Genevieve (Mina Sundwall of Netflix’s “Lost in Space”), who lost her boyfriend in a shooting and owes her teacher several assignments, doubts her test score is sufficient to get her into college and contemplates taking a gap year post-graduation. Ben (Alex R. Hibbert of “Moonlight”), who lost his friend and coworker at his part-time job, has transferred and quit the basketball team before dropping out of high school entirely. John (Cho), who lost his son, continues to coach at the school even though...

Kino Lorber has acquired North American rights to the indie drama Story Ave, starring Asante Blackk (This Is Us) and Luis Guzmán (Wednesday) — which we were first to report on — slating it for release in theaters in October, with a on digital and home video debut to follow.
Marking the feature debut of well-known music video director Aristotle Torres, the film tells the story of Kadir (Blackk), a South Bronx teen and gifted visual artist who loses his way following the death of his younger brother. Overcome with grief and struggling with school and family, he escapes into the creative yet dangerous world of graffiti gangs. To prove himself and join his neighborhood’s ruling gang, Kadir attempts to rob Mta conductor Luis (Guzmán) on the Story Ave subway platform, only to be caught off guard when Luis agrees to give Kadir the cash if he’ll sit down to a meal with him.

There’s a double meaning to the title of writer-director Aristotle Torres’ debut feature, Story Ave, that neatly sums up what this homegrown NYC coming-of-age drama is all about.
On the one hand, it refers to the fictitious Bronx subway station where its main character, a young and troubled graffiti artist named Kadir, has an encounter that will put him on either the right or wrong path for the future. On the other, it underlines the storybook quality of a movie that, although entrenched in certain socioeconomic realities, veers toward fantasy in some unexpected ways.
Torres, adapting with co-writer Bonsu Thompson from a short they made together in 2018, jumps back and forth between the two elements throughout Story Ave, which takes familiar tropes of the urban youth genre (gang violence, domestic troubles, peer pressure, guns and drugs) and, in its most memorable moments, turns them into something slightly magical. The...

With the 2010s firmly in the rear-view mirror, we can now look back on which films from that decade stand the test of time. And you couldn't possibly compile the best of the best without including "Moonlight." History will remember it as an Oscar best picture recipient, but to those who watch it, the coming-of-age tale means so much more.
Barry Jenkins possesses the ability to get to the intimate pulse of a character's journey, and in "Moonlight," we get to see that through three perspectives and three different ages. Little (Alex Hibbert), Chiron (Ashton Sanders), and Black (Trevante Rhodes) represent the evolution of a queer Black man -- as a child, a teenager, and then an adult -- in a turbulent world that opens itself up to him in the most unexpected ways. The things that we see at such critical points in our lives shape us into either who we want to become,...

Independent filmmaking may give you greater latitude in the kinds of stories you are able to tell, as the risk vs reward on the financial side isn't as great as the mega-blockbusters from Hollywood. While we think of money in a film budget being used for sets, higher-profile actors, and better camera equipment, more money gets you the most valuable currency of all: time. In the world, time is the most precious commodity you can have. Because you are working with finite resources, the margin for error on what you are doing on set is extremely narrow, and you are often operating at a run-and-gun speed.
Though Barry Jenkins' sophomore feature has become a universally beloved film and Best Picture winner, "Moonlight" is a tiny movie with just a 1.5 million budget. While that sounds like a lot of money to you and me, that is pennies for making a movie.
