Last Friday, on the night that Ruth Bader Ginsburg died, Donald Trump made a campaign appearance in Bemidji, a small city in northern Minnesota. Trump played to the base instincts of an adoring crowd at the airport, where Maga hats outnumbered face masks by an extraordinary margin — before he slipped into a terrifying embrace of eugenics, “the racehorse theory” of human breeding, and the superiority of Minnesota genes.

As David Crosby has proven time and time again, there’s no question he’s unwilling to answer. He’s also made more than his share of mistakes throughout his long life, which is why he was the perfect person to become Rolling Stone’s newest advice columnist. Norm Macdonald keeps putting his foot in it.
The comedian is facing a second round of backlash this week — this time for referring to a genetic disorder to emphasize a point about his support of the #MeToo movement.
“You’d have to have Down Syndrome to not feel sorry for — of course, #MeToo is what you want for your daughters. And you want that to be the future world,” Macdonald told Howard Stern on Wednesday.

Soon afterward, several people on Twitter voiced their disgust with Macdonald’s choice of words.
“@normmacdonald you made fun of people with Downs Syndrome, and the me too movement?,” noted one detractor, adding, “I’ve never cared for your attempt at humor. Always thought you just got lucky somewhere. Now I just find you ignorant and vile. You don’t seem very bright either,...

President Donald Trump is facing criticism after he was spotted holding a note card reminding him to actively listen to survivors of the Parkland, Florida, massacre during a meeting at the White House on Wednesday.
The Washington Post mocked the president’s talking point, which read “I hear you,” in an analysis titled “This photo of Trump’s notes captures his empathy deficit better than anything.”
Author Aaron Blake wrote: “That’s at once pretty striking for a president and not at all striking for Trump. Through tragedy after tragedy, empathy has been the quality clearly missing from Trump’s reactions.

Mike Pence is no stranger to heaping praise on boss Donald Trump, but if you ask Twitter, the vice president outdid himself on Wednesday when he gave fawning remarks about the president at a cabinet meeting following the passage of the contentious Gop tax bill.
After touting his own accomplishments, Trump turned the mic over to Pence and asked him to “say a few words.”
Pence delivered, crediting Trump with “restoring American credibility on the world stage,” spurring record-setting optimism, signing “more bills rolling back federal red tape than any president in American history” and “fighting every day for the...
