Although he's been teasing it for quite some time, filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan has confirmed that he is writing a sequel to 2000's Unbreakable (and another film), which he revealed is called Glass and will be released in 2019. [Spoiler warning for those who don't yet know the connection Glass has to another film.]
As viewers who saw Split earlier this year know, the thriller was revealed in its final scene to be a sequel to Unbreakable, with Bruce Willis' David Dunn appearing in a diner while news of The Beast's (James McAvoy) reign of carnage was reported on TV.
Since the release of Split, Shyamalan has teased that he has been working on a follow-up to Unbreakable and Split, but now he has revealed huge news for the sequel. On Twitter, Shyamalan announced that Glass will feature Willis and Samuel L. Jackson reprising their roles as Unbreakable characters David Dunn and Elijah Price / Mr. Glass, respectively.
