The Lego Movie 2: The sequel to The Lego Movie will pick up the story "several years" later and deal with gender issues, contrasting the way that boys and girls play, according to producers Dan Lin and Chris McKay. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have returned to revise the script, which will be told through the perspective of two children: Finn and his little sister. Mike Mitchell (Trolls) will direct; the movie is scheduled to open in theaters on February 8, 2019.
