We know who to put on our Oscar ballot for Best Director.
At this rate, it would be shocking if anyone other than Guillermo Del Toro went home with that prize come Oscar night. He has been winning again and again for his film The Shape of Water, and that trend continued when he won the DGA on Saturday night from the Directors Guild of America.
A visionary filmmaker ever since audiences were first introduced to him with Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth, this is the year for Del Toro, and we're very excited for him. The other big winner of the night in the film categories was Jordan Peele, who took home Best First Time Director for Get Out.
