I've got some bad news for Joss Whedon fans and some good news for DC fans who hated what he did with Justice League. THR is reporting that the filmmaker has dropped out of the Batgirl film project that he was supposed to write and direct. Apparently, he just couldn't find the right story to tell. Whedon had this to say in a statement:
"Batgirl is such an exciting project, and Warners/DC such collaborative and supportive partners, that it took me months to realize I really didn’t have a story. I’m grateful to Geoff and Toby and everyone who was so welcoming when I arrived, and so understanding when I… uh, is there a sexier word for ‘failed’?"
That's a shame to learn that it turned out this way. I was excited and looking forward to seeing what Joss Whedon would do with a Batgirl film, but...
