Poll: Hollywood vs. The Rest of the World (1960s)

During the 1960s, American movies were in a crisis. TV was said to tempt away the audience from cinemas, and critics lamented a lack of creativity in Hollywood. On the other hand, European and Asian films gained attraction unknown during the previous three decades - the French and Italian Waves inspired the generation of New Hollywood that would radically change American cinema in the 1970s, and Japanese and Italian action films had a huge impact on American genre movies. British Kitchen Sink dramas portrayed everyday life in a realistic way which Hollywood in its artificiliaty couldn't achieve.
