In Memoriam Face-Off: Delenn vs. Danielle Rousseau
Actress Mira Furlan, who played Minbari Ambassador Delenn on Babylon 5 (1993) and Danielle Rousseau on Lost (2004), has died. Mira passed away at the age of 65 on Wednesday, January 20, following complications from West Nile Virus. Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski shared a heartfelt statement and a tribute video by John E. Hudgens, and Lost Boss Damon Lindelof paid tribute online. Born in the Croatian capital of Zagreb in 1955, Furlan was a well known, award-winning theater, film and TV actress in the former Yugoslavia. She starred in numerous plays, TV series and films. She emigrated to the U.S. with her husband, Goran Gajic, in November 1991, due to the intolerable political circumstances in her homeland. For which role will you most remember Mira Furlan: Delenn or Danielle Rousseau? You may share your condolences here, after voting.
