Which is the best series comprising only 2 films?

Often times when a film gets a sequel it becomes a full blown franchise. (Often at least a trilogy) But here is the sets of films where they (at least for now) have only gotten one further installment for one reason or another. So this is just to see which duo of films is considered the best. Remember, these are all films that are supposed to bet set in the same continuity. Some of them for instance are being considered to be rebooted and the like. Senatus Populusque Romanus (SPQR) - Best Roman Epic?

“Senatus Populusque Romanus”, for people, like me, who did not know what it means, means “The Senate and People of Rome”, (abbreviated as “SPQR”). Along with the Roman eagle, it was the official emblem of Rome. Which of these that have scenes set in the ancient city of Rome or in a city of the Roman Empire (Pompeii) is your favorite? This list will include musicals and “Sword and sorcery” flicks (as long as the gods in it use the Roman names), to which a certain famous Italian Director, who was later famous for westerns, actually started his career doing. Favorite Roger Michell Movie

Film Director Roger Michell died on September 22, 2021. He was 65 years old. He directed one of the most popular romantic comedies of the 90's, he took Peter O'Toole to his last Oscar nomination and he worked on varied genres that included drama, war, thrillers and documentaries among others.
