- The relevant epic story of the strong-willed, courageous and independent woman before her time, Kurmanjan, who is revered to this day for her diplomacy for saving her nation from complete destruction when the Russians invaded.
- Karabas (Asset Imangaliev) is a difficult man: a hard-gambling, hard-drinking, child-in-a-man's body who puts only himself first in his family. When his wife #1, Zhipara (Perizat Ermanbetova), calls to tell him she has found their long-lost son, Uluk (Daniel Dayrbekov), Karabas rushes to her, much to the dismay of his much younger, pregnant wife #2, Turganbyubyu (Turgunai Erkinbekova). Soon the new family dynamics are stretched past their limits, and Karabas is caught between his old ways and the two women bearing his sons: one re-born and one yet to come. Now this unusual family must decide if they are to co-exist or tear each other apart as old wounds are ripped open and deception becomes the rule of the day. Shot on location in and around the mystic World Heritage Site of the Suleiman Mountain in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, SULEIMAN MOUNTAIN tells the coming of age story of a grown man who must first lose love in order to find it.
- This film tells the story of the Austrian snowboard club and charity organization, Cappuccino Club, travelling to Kirgistan. In 2011, the charity had raised funds through the making of a non-profit snowboarding calendar. All of these benefits went into micro projects in Kirgistan. The connection came through Alois Schläffer, one of the clubs members who has been working and living in Kirgistan for some time. Now it was time for the Cappuccinos to go visit the country themselves and see first hand what impact their funded projects had had in the country and to catch up with some of their partners in the area, including UN Women Bishkek. Of course they also brought their snowboards and went on to discover the snowy valleys and mountains. It is with special splitboards, that the crew hikes far into previously un-ridden terrains and climbs up to snowy mountain tops to reach for powder filled descents. Everything seems to be going fine until one cold clear day the crew has to pass a frozen river. At first glance the river seems save, packed with freshly fallen snow, but the danger lies underneath the white surface.
- Two brothers will struggle to be the winner in the Kökbörü game, which 300 horses attend.
- Alisher and Dildora are in love in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. Soon they are married and even sooner they have a baby on the way. At just 18, the smitten couple had considered only romance, but now Alisher finds himself struggling to provide for his young family in the harsh economic climate of Osh. The only option left for Alisher, like so many of his generation, is to leave his new bride to try to make it big in Moscow. While the earnest love between the newlyweds has a sweetness stronger than their 3,500 mile divide, their relationship is now beset by challenges more dire than distance alone.
