After Professor Porter's successful rescue expedition in the Dark Continent, in
Tarzan of the Apes (1918), William Cecil Clayton, the duplicitous holder of the title of Lord Greystoke, claims that he has seen the demise of Tarzan with his own eyes. Presumed dead, the team leaves the jungle empty-handed and sets sail for England, unbeknownst to them that Tarzan is alive, eager to go to great lengths to reunite with his beloved mate, Jane Porter. However, Clayton's treachery knows no boundaries, and when Tarzan manages to set foot in America, Jane wants to have nothing to do with him anymore. Can scheming Clayton win? In the end, will love prevail?
