This film is one of over 200 titles in the list of independent feature films made available for television presentation by Advance Television Pictures announced in Motion Picture Herald on 4 April 1942. At this time television broadcasting was in its infancy, almost totally curtailed by the advent of World War II, and would not continue to develop until 1945-46. Because of poor documentation (feature films were often not identified by title in conventional sources) no record has yet been found of its initial television broadcast. Its earliest documented telecasts occurred Sunday 9 January 1949 on San Francisco's freshly launched first television station, KPIX (Channel 5) and Monday and Wednesday 2 May 1949 & 4 May 1949, in Cincinnati, where it was shown in two parts on WKRC (Channel 11); in Los Angeles it was first telecast Sunday 17 July 1949 on KTSL (Channel 2), in Atlanta Saturday 1 October 1949 on WSB (Channel 8), in New York City Wednesday 23 November 1949 on WPIX (Channel 11) (no relation to KPIX, despite the similar call letters), and in Philadelphia Thursday 22 December 1949 on WFIL (Channel 6).
