Riding high on the success of True Detective, Cary Fukunaga is currently in the middle of pre-production on his next project, a two part big screen adaption of Stephen King’s It, already brought to the small screen as a 1990’s miniseries. According to Variety, the first piece of casting has been finalised, with We’re The Miller’s and The Maze Runner’s Will Poulter singing on the dotted line to play the star of the show Pennywise, a terrifying monster who takes the form of a clown to lure children to their deaths. It’s a very interesting choice for a role that was made iconic by Tim Curry in the original version. With the likes of the much older Ben Mendelsohn (Black Sea) and Mark Rylance (The Gunman) eyed for the role, word has it that New Line Cinema wanted to go younger, and Funkunaga couldn’t...

Riding high off his huge success "Ride Along," comedian Kevin Hart is set to recreate that magic alongside that film's director and producer, and he's bringing Jamie Foxx into the fold.
Hart and Foxx will co-star in "The Black Phantom," which according to Variety "follows a double-crossed mob hitman who enlists the help of the Black Phantom, the same African-American hitman who had been sent to kill him." It's unclear which actor will play which character, or whether "Phantom" will be a comedy or action flick, though judging by the talent involved, it seems safe to assume it will be a hybrid of the two genres.
Though a deal is still being worked out, Hart's "Ride Along" director Tim Story is pegged to direct "Phantom," while "Ride Along" producer Will Packer is set to co-produce alongside Will Gluck (who's working with Foxx on the "Annie" reboot). Considering the success of "Ride Along,...

People are always complaining about how much Americans suck at doing accents, whether it's Kevin Costner as "Robin Hood" or Keanu Reeves seemingly coming off a heroin addiction in "Bram Stoker's Dracula." And we do suck sometimes, yes.
However, we want to at least even the playing field a little by pointing out some bafflingly bad American accents perpetrated by thesps from overseas. Europe and Australia may have the best acting academies and such, but not every graduate is as versatile as they should be, starting with a certain Gerard Butler from this past weekend's "Olympus Has Fallen."
Gerard Butler
This week's "Olympus Has Fallen" is cheesy fun, but Butler's American cadence is just … off. Granted, he's a bit more convincing than his oft-compared Scottish soul mate Sean Connery, but the "300" star has tried his hand at miming our accent in disasters like "The Bounty Hunter" and the recent surfing drama "Chasing Mavericks.

We've plucked 13 potential little beauties out of the 2013 UK film line-up, feat. sci-fi, comic-book, horror, comedy, thriller & more...
Look ahead to the UK films coming out in 2013 and you’ll see a diverse landscape of filmmakers, genres, actors, budgets and ideas. Next year brings us something new from Joanna Hogg, and something else from Danny Dyer. Irvine Welsh’s Filth will almost certainly live up to its title, but the Absolutely Fabulous film? We’ll see.
Al Pacino’s playing King Lear, and Stephen Mangan’s playing Postman Pat. Shane Meadows is making a film about the Tour de France, and Nigel Cole is making a film about an otter. Steve Coogan will be a porn baron, Bridget Jones will have a baby, Nick Frost will dance the salsa, Martin Freeman will save Santa, and Sean Bean, bless the man, will probably die.

Maybe you were at the grocery store when you found yourself singing along to Afrojack's "Take Over Control" for the hundredth time. Or maybe it was when Martin Solveig's "Hello" was suddenly on repeat on your iPod. Whatever your moment was, it's fair to say the American appetite for electronic dance music surged in 2011, bringing "the rave" to radio and festivals, touching every U.S. city (big and small). Even Grammy voters took notice this year, nominating Skrillex for Best New Artist and in four other categories.
Afrojack, David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Benny Benassi put up mainstream, chart-topping bangers. Las Vegas' Electric Daisy Carnival and Miami's Ultra Music Festival saw record attendance, and dance music's biggest stars headlined a stage at every major mainstream festival: Lollapalooza,...
