In the fifth season episode of "The Twilight Zone," called "The Masks", an elderly millionaire named Jason Foster (Robert Keith) has gathered his daughter, her husband, and their two adult children for a Mardi Gras gathering. Jason, attended by his doctor (Willis Bouchey), is dying. He expects he'll be dead by morning. Jason also hates his daughter and her family. He sees Emily (Virginia Gregg) as spineless, her husband Wilfred (Milton Seltzer) as greedy, her son Wilfred, Jr. (Alan Sues) as dumb and oafish, and her daughter Paula (Brooke Hayward) as vain and shallow.
At dinner, the family members all feign politeness, but the audience trusts Jason when he says they are all terrible people who are only interested in inheriting his fortune. After dinner, Jason calls the quartet into the drawing room for a Mardi Gras game. The patriarch has commissioned five expressive, full-face masks that he and his family are to wear.

More than a movie star: America’s one female Hollywood director working in the 1950s receives a four-title boxed set well worth the investment — one noir mini-masterpiece is accompanied by a pair of independent social issue movies better than what the studios were turning out. It’s all thanks to Lupino’s fine dramatic direction. She emphasizes basic human values: cooperation over competition, and interior conflict. Her company ‘The Filmmakers’ lasted only about six years, but as an independent experiment it consistently turned out ‘special’ pictures anybody could be proud of.

Ida Lupino (c. 1952). Courtesy Film Forum via Photofest.Much has been written about Ida Lupino’s centenary this year, and the renewed critical attention is a cause for celebration. The veteran screen actor and director of Golden Age Hollywood has too often been a name casually trotted out in lip service to women’s historical impact in the film industry. She most certainly did have that impact, but her films have proven difficult to see and completism with her work has been equally challenging. This began to shift after Martin Scorsese wrote an affectionate obituary of Lupino in a 1995 issue of The New York Times. Not long after, restorations and DVD releases would follow—some by Scorsese’s Film Foundation itself. Now, in her centenary year, both the British Film Institute and New York’s Film Forum are holding retrospectives to celebrate her, including works like her mother-daughter sports saga Hard,...

Kim Zolciak really can’t stay out of the news this week and today it’s all been highlighted by her cast mates not wanting her back. And it’s not just Zolciak either. The Real Housewives of Atlanta wouldn’t be too keen on NeNe Leakes returning to the show either. According to TMZ: Sources close to ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ tell us the women are saying there’s no need to bring back NeNe and Kim because all they bring is over-the-top drama just to get camera time. As one source put it, there’s “no substance.” We’re told there’s also a financial concern that

Ida Lupino was the first woman to direct a classic noir film. In fact, she was the only woman working within the 1950s Hollywood studio system to direct a feature and she directed seven features and more than 100 TV episodes. She was the only woman to direct episodes of the original “The Twilight Zone” series, as well as the only director to have starred in the show.

“Hard, Fast, and Beautiful” is the title of a dedicated Ida Lupino program at the recent 53rd Vienna International Film Festival. The program is named in honor of Lupino’s film, which New York Times critic Bosley Crowther reviewed in 1951. “It simply recounts the quick parabola that a girl tennis player describes in becoming a tennis champion and then chucking it all for love,” he wrote of the “trite and foolish” script. Hard, Fast, and Beautiful was Lupino’s third directorial attempt. Well, technically, it was her fourth. When director Elmer Clifton had a heart attack in 1949 during Not Wanted, Lupino […]...

Sally Forrest, a dancer, actress and protege of Hollywood pioneer Ida Lupino who starred in the 1949 feature dramas Not Wanted and Never Fear, has died. She was 86. Forrest died March 15 at home in Beverly Hills after a long battle with cancer, publicist Judy Goffin announced. Forrest starred as a young unwed mother who puts her baby up for adoption in shame and then wants him back in Not Wanted, then stood out as an up-and-coming dancer who is paralyzed from polio in Never Fear. These performances led Hollywood columnist Hedda Hopper to name Forrest the

Causing quite the fuss with her recent racy runway appearance, photos of Kendall Jenner showing her breasts in a see-through top during Nyfw, have been removed from Instagram.
Turning a few heads with her appearance at Marc Jacobs' New York Fashion Week show, the 18-year-old reality star donned a sheer tan blouse, highlighting every bit of the front half of her body, and causing an uproar on Twitter.
However, the Kardashian family could hardly express how proud they are of Kendall, as Kim Kardashian tweeted, "Proudest sister ever!!!! @kendalljenner I love watching you live your dream! #MarcJacobs #Nyfw."
And now, the full-body picture is nowhere to be found on Instagram, and not because Marc Jacobs wanted to wait until official images were in circulation.
The photo sharing media site told E! News that, “The photo violated Instagram's guidelines that include a limitation on nudity.”
Quick to jump all over the accusations,...

She comes from a long line of lovely ladies, and Kendall Jenner decided it was time to take things to the next level during her moment at the Marc Jacobs Fall 2014 fashion show on Thursday (February 13).

And when naysayers began criticizing Kendall for exposing her breasts and setting a bad example for young girls, Khloe fired back, “She's too dope for you 2 understand! Yall would trade places with her in a second!

The finale of The Returned on Sunday night (July 28) left many TV fans scratching their heads in confusion. The spooky French supernatural series piled mystery on top of mystery and answered very few (if any) of the questions that it posed to viewers throughout the first series.
Digital Spy has helpfully compiled a list of the most burning questions that desperately need answers in series two next year.
1. What's causing the dead to come back?
It's unlikely we'll ever get a full explanation for this, but perhaps we'll be able to understand in series two why specific people are chosen to come back. Only Camille returned from the school bus crash, so why not the other children?
2. How are the Returned connected to water? The flooding, the watery grave, the falling dam water?
Again, we probably won't get a full explanation.
3. Presuming the one final person they wanted was Adele's baby,...
