The World War II phase of the career of the controversial American general, George S. Patton.
The film is included on Roger Ebert's "Great Movies" list.
Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.
After Patton started to move forward in France, a scene is shown from the German HQ, where a soldier draws a chart with the casualties inflicted by Patton's third army. In that scene the thousands digits are separated with a comma (e.g. "Verwundete (wounded): 13,084), while German uses a dot instead (i.e. 13.084 would be correct instead)
Opening credits prologue: KASSERINE PASS TUNISIA, 1943
