Brian is born on the original Christmas, in the stable next door. He spends his life being mistaken for a messiah.
Theatrically re-released in the US on April 30, 2004 for its 25th anniversary, two months after the theatrical release of The Passion of the Christ (2004).

According to the caption text, Brian meets the People's Front of Judea for the first time in the Colosseum in Jerusalem. In fact, the only amphitheater known as the Colosseum is the big one in Rome, officially called the Amfitheatrum Flavium.
At the end of Idle's song "Bright Side Of Life" we can hear him saying "It's the end of the film. Incidently this record's available in the foyer. Some of us have got to live as well you know. Who do you think pays for all this rubbish? They'll never make their money back, you know. I told him, I said to him, Bernie, I said, they'll never make their money back... That should give you enough."
