Marty McFly, a 17-year-old high school student, is accidentally sent 30 years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by his close friend, the maverick scientist Doc Brown.
Einstein the dog arrives after being frozen in time for a minute at 1:21am. The Delorean needs 1.21 gigawatts of electricity.
1985 Radio Announcer:
October is inventory time, so right now, Statler Toyota is making the best deals of the year on all 1985-model Toyotas. You won't find a better car at a better price with better service anywhere in Hill Valley. That's Statler Toyota in downtown Hill...
Throughout all of the films, Doc and Marty consistently refer to what makes time travel possible as the "flux capacitor." It's even printed on it with red label maker tape. In 1955, when Marty takes Doc to where he hid the Delorean after it broke down, Doc explains that after he fell and hit his head, he drew a picture of the flux capacitor. But the drawing that Doc shows Marty clearly has the words "flux compressor" written on the right hand side of the page.
